Let's face it, we all love a good Meet Cute. It's the moment we think, AH! this is the one that shall win our heroine's heart! 🥰

That is what this update will be about, The Meet Cute. ❤️

Let's be honest, we all think we know what that is for A Secret Service, it's the moment Donovan steps out of the class room and we all swoon.

For me, as the author you all absolutely love *hair flip*, it's more than that. Because the Meet Cute signifies the beginning of something, the beginning of a relationship. So for the Carter and Donovan relationship to be able to start would mean we need our Meet Cute with the  wonderful, totally adorable, completely clueless muffin!

That's right I speak of none other than Link - Lincoln - Evans!

For us to have Carter and Donovan, we must first have Carter and Link.

And this is where our first change comes into play.

*Hands you a teddy bear, carton of ice cream and a paper bag*

That is right my dearest dearie reader, the meeting between Carter and Link has changed.

BREATHE! KEEP BREATHING!!! (That means you have to stop screaming at me, you can't breathe if you're screaming) USE THE PAPER BAG, OKAY! BREATHE!

Look, I know. What I have just said is making you hyperventilate and doubt everything you've ever known in your entire life.

But if you will take a spoonful of that ice cream and hear me out, I will explain.

When I first introduced Link, I was getting to know him. I had no idea who he was. I didn't know that he grinned like an idiot when he's happy. I didn't know he made complete non-sensical comparisons to Maddy and how she smells. I didn't know he'd be so innocent. I didn't know that he would be a friends to Carter in she needed most.

He was a lone bean. He hadn't sprouted. He had yet to show the world who he was.

So as introduction go to the boy that we all know, love, and will stab anyone who tries harm him, the first meeting isn't what it could be.

Yes,  Carter does say some fun lines. Yes, Link a little clueless but taken with her. But on the grand scheme of things, their beginning doesn't hold that weight of a lifelong friendship in the making.

That's why, I created a new beginning. A beginning that will make you smile because Link is a dork. Will make you laugh because Carter doesn't hold back her comments about Mason. Will make you see why not only Link connects with Carter but why for the first time we understand why Carter really connects with Link.

Will it be hard to read something that's different than the meeting you've read a thousand times?

Naturally.

But do I whole heartedly believe that you will love this meeting more?

Yes, I truly do. Because for someone who has edited and worked on this book until I want to chuck it across the room, I love this new meeting!

I love how it shows how much Link and Carter need each other.

I love how it shows the protectiveness Carter instantly feels for a boy she has just met.

I love how it shows a glimpse into the inner conflict Link goes through upon seeing his half-brother.

Most of all, I love that I get to give you something fresh, something that will make you excited about buying this book.

And so, do you trust me to give you a Meet Cute between Link and Carter that will make you excited to meet these characters once again?

I hope it's yes, because I could not be more happy about this change!
