Everything

I was going with them. Well, maybe not with them, but I would end up in Georgia some way or another. I snuck into what I thought was Sam's room and grabbed his laptop, hoping to find some clues on where exactly they were going. Taking back to my room, I snuck through the hallways of the bunker quietly.

Once I got back to my own area, I opened up the history, seeing a bunch of stuff I honestly hoped was just Dean using Sam's computer, and not much else. I hacked into the system and deleted history, finding a bunch of other crap on some small town in North Georgia called Winder. Not much, just a peaceful community, with a few hauntings and a couple of local legends, but nothing of severe importance. But I got a location. That was all I needed.

Using the Google Maps app on the laptop, I found out that I was in Lebanon, Kansas, and that Winder was about sixteen and a half hours away...by car..and I didn't have a car... I figured that I could hitch hike, but then I thought, "Who would pick up a random ten year old girl standing on the side of the road without being suspicious? No one, that's who." So I finally decided I could probably take a bus or something. I was honestly running out of options. I looked up when the next Greyhound from Lebanon to someplace close to Winder would leave, and apparently there was one leaving for Athens (Georgia, not Greece) about six or so hours after the rest of the Winchesters planned to leave. They would undoubtedly have someone watch over me while they were gone, but that was no problem. Running away from authority is unfortunately a skill that comes all to easily to me

Just as I deleted the files properly, to where no one would be able to track what I researched and randomly clicked on some lyric videos on YouTube as a cover, Sam started to yell at Dean for taking his laptop. I timidly walked into the argument and very innocently stated, "I'm sorry, Sam. I had only borrowed it to listen to some music. I really am very sorry." I was difficult to hide my smiles, but other than that I thought my story was very convincing. I honestly did. Again, far to much experience with lying to adults for a ten year old.

Sam kneeled down on one knee and took the computer away from me gently. "Ada," he said softly,"please don't touch this without asking again. It is very important for your fathers and I to do our jobs."

I nodded, looking down at my worn out leather boots that I'd had for about two years at that point. Then to make myself seem as guilt-free as possible, I threw my arms around Sam's neck, and whispered into his ear,"I will. I promise." He smiled and put his arms around me as well.

That was step one. Step two was actually getting to the town.

"Ada, listen to Mrs.Tran while we're away. We'll be back in a few days. Don't worry," Sam said, comforting my fake tears.

"You'll come back?" I said through false cries. "You won't abandon me like everyone else? You promise?"

"We promise," Cas told me. "We will miss you dearly, Ada."

Sam looked over to Dean expectantly and Dean rolled his eyes. "Yeah, we'll see you if we come back."

Probably seeing the pretend horrified look on my face, Sam said, "We always come back, Ada."

Cas coughed something that sounded like,"73." again, but I couldn't be sure.

Three days later, I walked out with them, and only once when we had gone out the front door did I realize that the Winchesters lived underground. We they said bunker, they meant a legit bunker. I swear, I was never going to get used to this family.

They drove off in the Impala, with Sam in the back this time, and a trail of dust followed closely behind as the classic car disappeared into the horizon with "The Heat of the Moment" by Asia blaring, and Dean just laughing his head off.

About ten minutes after I had gone back inside the bunker, Mrs. Tran showed up, still wearing her ring. Oh-kay, having a ghost around was going to complicate things. Sneaking past people? All too easy. But supernatural beings? That's a whole other story.

Linda immediately took off the ring and set it on the table; she then proceeded to walk calmly (but obviously urgently) to the bathroom down the hall.  I saw the opportunity and snatched up Kevin's anchor and hid it as far away from the front door as possible: the dungeon.

I threw the ring as hard as I could and ran to my room to grab my luggage as I heard the clatter of metal against the hard concrete of the cell's wall. Unfortunately, I bumped into Mrs.Tran on the way to my room.

"Oh, hey, Mrs.Tran!" I said as I ran into her. She might of not been very tall, but at the time, neither was I, so she was still a couple of inches taller than I was. "I'm just..um...running!" I laughed nervously. Hey, I can lie, but only when I prethink my cover story. I'm absolutely terrible at improvising.

She didn't look impressed. "Running?"

I avoided eye contact. I knew I would just bust out laughing if I made eye contact (yeah I do that sometimes). "Yep. De- Sam told me it was good for me to run and an easy way to get some simple training while they were gone. Dean said thathedoesn'tlikerunningbecause-" I was starting to talk fast...a sure sign that Linda would notice I was lying. Luckily, she stopped me there before I could totally embarrass myself.

"Okay, Ada, I get the point," she looked around. "Have you seen my ring? I can't find him anywhere."

I'll admit, it was just a tad bit strange hearing someone refer to an inanimate object as "him".

"Nope."

Mrs. Tran didn't seem to believe me but she played along. "Where's your room?" she asked sweetly.

I pointed down the hall, and she told me to lead the way. I walked slowly, procrastinating as much as possible by stopping to notice and admire every single detail in the corridor. Example: "Oh, look, Mrs.Tran! There's a spider on the wall! Better go kill it, you know, now that I'm a hunter." (Insert excessive head nodding, dramatic taking off of a sandal, and a banshee scream as I raise the flip-flop over my head and slam it down on the spider while yelling, "DAVID FLEMMING!" Don't ask; I decided last minute to name the dead insect.)

"That was-" Linda looked too shocked for words. "Th-that was just...wow...I don't even know what that was."  When she said that I thought, You and me both.

After about ten or so minutes, we finally reached my room, even though it was just down the hallway. I swear, I could see it from where we were standing when I found Mrs. Tran, but yet, with the help of my amazing time-wasting skills, we took almost 15 to get there. I honestly felt proud. But then I remembered that my bus was leaving in a little under 4 and half hours. God, I had to rush now.

"Yep..." I said rocking back and forth on my heels, "this is my room." Since I had only arrived in the Winchester household a couple of days ago, the area seemed pretty clean. Sure, my bed wasn't made, and a pile of dirty clothes was already starting in the corner, but overall, I was surprised by how much I had kept this room organized.

"Good organization," said Mrs. Tran as she looked around. If there was one thing I wanted right then, it would have been for her not to notice my suitcase just barely sticking out from under the sheets the hanged over the edge of my bed. Of course, the one thing that you never want is always the one thing that happens. "What's that?" she asked, pointing to my bag.

I squatted down and pulled my luggage out from under the bed. "Oh, it's just my suitcase."

Linda told me to back up as she picked up my suitcase. She set it on the bed and opened it up. "What the {hufflepuff}?" Mrs.Tran said as she looked inside to see hunter weapons. Just the basics, salt, holy water, a knife or two, and some holy oil. Not much really, but it was enough to get her to ask more than a few questions.  "Ada! What the {hufflepuff} are you doing with knives? You're freaking ten! Kevin wasn't introduced to hunting until he was almost in college and he was killed a year later! Ada, you are far too young to be into anything at all that has to do with monsters of any kind! Why? Don't you dare answer that! I'm calling Dean and Cas right now, and there is nothing you can do about it. Nope. Don't say a single word until Castiel is back in this bunker making sure you are 100% safe and are not going to run away."

I swear, I was very tempted to slap her. Instead, I took all of the anger and loneliness that was manifesting inside of me and aimed all towards her. "No, you're not. You know why? Because you're scared. That's the only reason you're a hunter. That's why Kevin died. That's why you're trying to protect me. You're absolutely terrified that some big bad out there is going to the same thing that Sam did to your son to me. Well, guess what? I'M NOT YOUR KID! I don't belong to you. Or the Winchesters. I am not some perfect little girl who goes to school and gets all A's and is welcomed home every day by her mum and dad. I am an adopted kid. Dean and Cas are only my parents on paper. Sooner or later, they're gonna reject me. Everyone does sooner or later. And guess what else? My real mum died in a fire, when I was six months old. My real dad  was killed on a hunting trip with a couple of his friends when I was two.  I'm done. I'm leaving. Call Sam and Dean, give them a heads up that I ran away. I don't care. But know now that when I leave, I'm not coming back."

Ignoring her, I grabbed my suitcase a walked out the door, completely forgetting about my plan to go to Georgia. I wasn't going to go somewhere that I was just going to be the new kid again. I was going to run away. For real. Who needs the Winchesters anyway? Not me, that's for sure.

I was running away from everything.

Everything.
