Four Act Two~ Date Night (part two)

They turned the movie on and sat down. John plopped between Jade and Dave. "So what's this movie about?"

"It's pretty much about a girl who finds herself being haunted and an old lady needs to help her and-" She noticed John looking at her hopefully. "No, no Nic Cage." John looked dissapointed.

Dave shrugged and the movie started. A notice popped up on Jade's phone. She looked at it and snickered. "What?" Dave asked. She turned her phone around and Dave read it out loud. "'Two drunk men running down the street, naked. If seen, alert authorities Otherwise, stay indoors.' Well, our plan worked better than we thought if they're naked."

John and Jade stared at him. John smiled and started laughing. Jade slowly turned her attention back to the TV. She had already seen this movie eight times, so she knew when all the jumpscares were. And one was coming right up. Probably the loudest and least expected one in the whole movie. She turned to the boys. "Hey, I'm going to get some popcorn. Want any?"

"Sure." Dave looked at her. "Do you know where it is?" She nodded.

She lied.

She ran upstairs and grabbed a bowl from one cabinet and started rifling through the others looking for popcorn. There was a loud bang and shrieking from downstairs. Jade knew exactly what happened. Jade "dropped" the bowl(down freak out, it was plastic). "Guys what's wrong?" She ran downstairs.

John was rocking back and forth in Dave's lap and his arms were wrapped tightly around him. Dave was cradling John, who seemed to be on the verge of tears, now. Dave stroked John's hair. "Calm, Tiny one. Calm."

"I am not short!" John said through tears. "I am FUN SIZED." He stopped rocking and squeezed Dave even tighter.

"What happened?" Jade asked again.

"The girl got hit by a truck!" Dave yelled.

"Oh. Why are you...?"

There was an awkward silence except for the movie in the background.

"I was scared." John said after a while. "And cold."

John scooted off Dave's lap. He sat leaning on Dave's shoulder with his legs curled up to his chest. Dave bent his leg under himself and tucked his ankle under his knee. Jade glanced over and burst on the inside. Yes. Yes, my children.

"Bro, can you move? This is getting uncomfortable." Dave looked down at John after a while. John lied down and out his head in Dave's lap. "Close enough." He started to stroke John's hair affectionately.

"This movie's getting boring." Dave sighed.

Jade glared at him. "Well, what do you suggest we do?"

"Go get your gun." Dave whispered.

"What?"

"Get your gun." John repeated. The boys ran over to a table and flipped it on it's side.

"LETS FIND OUT WHAT IT DOES." THWY both yelled.

Dave popped up from behind the table and shot five styrofoam darts at Jade. She covered her face with her arms. "You idiots!" She smiled. She jumped behind the couch and grabbed her dart gun. She leaned around the side and shot once. It hit Dave in the middle of the forehead. She crawled over to a large cardboard box and hid behind it. A dart bounced off the wall and landed at her feet. She loaded it in her gun and leaned around the box.

Dave ducked. "EGBERT NOW."

Jade turned around. John was standing over her with his gun pointed straight at her forehead. "Surrender or I'll blow your brains out." He whispered seriously. Jade dropped her gun. John snatched it and brought his hand back. "Thanks, sis."

The door opened and all of them turned to face it. John quickly grabbed Jade's glasses off her face. She did not protest because the people at the door were none other than the two drunk fugitives last seen running down the street.

Dirk climbed up the stairs. "I'll go get you some pants."

"That would be nice." Jake blushed. He stood in the foyer, not knowing what to do.

"There's a bathroom to your left." Dave pushed his glasses up his nose and looked away.

"Thanks." He walked through the door.
