Chapter 6: A Nelson in Denial

Some days pass on by, and Carrie started to ease up a little bit and opened up a lot more to the Warners, especially Yakko, the most. She started to keep up to speed on their antics around the studios, and she even began to try and do a few tricks up her sleeve. One particular day will have Carrie begin to question if the relationship is going in the right direction.

Carrie was with Yakko near the park and the two sat down near a fountain. "Hey Yakko? I'm really glad that we have gotten to spend a lot of more time together. I think you three showed me a lot about what it means to have more fun.." She rubs her arm, looking at him with a cheeky grin. "Hey, it's no problem Carrie. We're glad you came along to be a part of us. Sometimes, your talent makes me want to write poetry... Or bake a ham, I forget what." Yakko tells Carrie, taking her hand. "More rather the poetry than the ham. Speaking of which, I think I know what time it is."

Carrie scratches her chin and begins to think about what he's talking about. "To make a cheese sandwich? No wait, to make fun of Nickelodeon's decision to plaster their logo everywhere on your reruns?" Yakko shakes his head as he pulls out a wheel. "No, no. It's time to learn a lesson from the Wheel of Morality." He then gives a hard spin, watching it go around and around. "Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn. What's today's lesson that we should learn?" Then the dial lands on number 3 and Carrie takes the paper and reads it. "Today's lesson is... 'If someone wants to watch Baloney and Kids with you, run.'" She then shoves the wheel and it rolls away. "Bye, have a beautiful time!"

Yakko chuckled a little bit at her remarks as he watched the wheel go away. "But seriously though, what was Nick even thinking?" Then the two spotted Ralph, the security guard coming at them yelling "Get back here yous young'ns!" "Oh, gotta run!" Carrie gulps and takes his hand, getting away rather quickly.

(Later)

Carrie was having some time alone in the park, passing by the lights again and 5 statues of muses. She could swear that she was gaining feelings for the zany toon, but she feared of making the same mistakes like what happened with her mom and Dad. "If there's a prize for rotten judgement, I guess I've already won that.. No man is worth the aggravation.. That's ancient history, been there, done that!" Then the same statues came to life, trying to convince her it was okay. "Who d'you think you're kidding? He's the earth and heaven to you! Try to keep it hidden, Honey we can see right through you! Girl you can't conceal it! We know how you're feeling. Who you thinking of?"

Carrie scoffs and circles the fountain and held onto a flower Yakko gave her. "No chance, no way! I won't say it, no no." "You swoon, you sigh! Oh why deny it? oh oh!" Carrie crossed her arms, looking right to the stars. "It's too cliche! I won't say I'm in love!" She walked away from the moving statues and they shrug one by one. Carrie then began to hop over some rocks, trying to still pass the feelings off.

"I thought my heart had learned its lesson.. It feels so good when you start out. My head is screaming "Get a grip girl! Unless you're dying to cry your heart out! Ooooooh!!" Carrie continued to sing it out as the statues followed her. "Girl you can't deny it. Who you are is how you're feeling, Baby we're not buying! Hon we saw you hit the ceiling! Face it like a grown-up. When you gonna own up that you got got got it bad?" Carrie shakes her head and then looked at the clouds, and they formed to make a cloud of Yakko. "No chance no way I won't say it, no no!" She then blushes as the muses continue to pester her.

"Give up, give in, check the grin you're in love!" They all sang together and Carrie held her head, going back to the fountain. "This scene won't play I won't say I'm in love!" "You're doing flips! Read our lips; 'you're in love!'" Carrie stomped her foot and she blushed more. "You're way off base I won't say it! Get off my case I won't say it!" The muses then held up the flower Yakko gave her and handed it over. "Girl don't be proud it's okay you're in love." Carrie takes the flower and lays back on the base of the fountain, letting the water flow away. "Oooh. At least out loud... I won't say I'm in love.." Then they all sigh dreamily about the cartoon heart throb.
