Chapter 22: So The Years Go By.
(22 years later after the cancellation)
"But the good times were never meant to last.." An older Carrie answered an interviewer's question. She was giving insights of her life before and after she met the Warners. "Uh huh. So what happened exactly when the show got cancelled?" The reporter asked her and Carrie keeps her composure and breathed out, finally answering his question. "Well, when the show got cancelled, the Warners got kicked out of the tower, and got the movie deal shortly after. They did give me a part in it, but I wanted no part of something that will only last once. The executives wanted me and Lauren gone since I refused, and they tried to take Lauren away from me. I wouldn't let them and we disappeared from the tower in a hole." Carrie buried her hand in her face and shuddered.
"It's okay ma'am.. Take your time and answer whenever you're ready." The reporter tells her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Carrie sniffs, and wiped her wet cheeks. "Okay.. anyway, me and my daughter have stayed hidden since then. I have written to my mom and Dad everyday since, and they visited here and there. We only came out of hiding in 2008 for my grandmother and grandfather's funeral and then back again." Carrie rubbed her neck and then the reporter stood up. "I think I got what I need. It was nice to meet with you here, Carrie." And then he left and Carrie sighs, holding a photo of them all together at the finale. "Oh Yakko, Wakko, Dot.. Where have the days gone..?" She then got back home and saw a letter on the table.
"Still at ACME Looniversity. Will be home late tonight. ~Lauren."
Carrie sets the letter down and went to her room and opened up her diary and began to read the last entry she made.
"November 18th, 2020
Dear Diary,
Tomorrow, I will be on my last page and starting all over again.. I can't even remember how much time has passed. It has been too long. Today was the 12th anniversary of my grandma and grandpa's passing. Man, if only they were here right now. They would certainly know what to do in a situation like mine. I just got done with an interview with the reporter for the LA times, I guess that's a good thing that happened.. I don't know what else to say, so I'll keep it on the low for now."
She closed her eyes and a tear drop falls from her eye and onto the page, wetting it down a little. "I lost everything now.." Carrie laid on her bed and cried herself down for a nap.
(Meanwhile)
The Warners were looking for Carrie to see if she wanted to come back for the reboot. "I know they have to be here somewhere. They have to be!" Yakko fretted and Dot places a hand on his shoulder as she ringed the doorbell to Daniels new Californian home with Amelia. Ever since they came to stay in California, Amelia fully recovered and they both fell in love with each other again and got married. A visibly older Daniel opened the door to look at them. "Ah, the Warner siblings. What can I do for you three today?" Yakko jumped in his arms and spoke nervously. "Sir, do you know where Carrie is? We are trying to look for her, and we haven't gotten any clues. Please help meeeee!" He cried out dramatically and Daniel held onto him. "Here's the address on where she lives now. Don't cry. And good luck." He waved goodbye and watched the three follow the instructions written down. "Oh man. I can't wait to see the look on Carrie's face once we tell her the good news." Wakko cheered with an excited tone
