Chapter 11: Made of Love, from Mom

Carrie gets ready for the day and looks around the tower and then heads out. She had a scheduled call from the prison with her mom. She breathes in and out and continued to walk. "Okay Carrie, you can do this. You can try to have a civilized talk with her.." After some time, she arrives at the place and checks in at the front desk, and an officer brings her to a private booth where her mother was waiting. She sits down in a chair and picks up her phone line and then spoke through it. "Hello Momma.." Her voice grows rather cold and Amelia looked away.

"Hey sweetie.. I hope you're doing fine.." Amelia sighed softly, knowing her daughter was going to hold a grudge against her. Carrie shakes her head in disbelief. "Mom.. You know you don't have to lie to yourself.. Look, I'm already happy where I am. Grandma and Grandpa already know I'm safe. And one more thing. I'm already starting to have a romantic relationship.. Yakko has given me more happy memories than I had at home." Amelia was taken aback and then rested her head on her hand. "Carrie, my little girl.. I don't really like the idea of you being with a person made of ink and paper.. I'm not saying anything bad, but you shouldn't date him, not because he's who he is.. but it'll ruin everything you have."

Carrie's mind finally broke and her phrases began to play in her mind. Everything that happened became a constant echo in her brain as her eyes became a kaleidoscope of all the painful memories. "You ruined everything!" "This is all your fault Carrie." "This is why Dad had to leave, isn't it?" "I hope you never get far!" Her hands clenched into fists and her face turned red in anger and steam began to pour out of her ears. That was it. That was the strike of the match that made her go off. She finally bursts out in anger and then begins to let her mom have it.

"Oh you just think you know everything don't you mom?!" Carrie began to yell through the phone as Amelia held it away so her ear wouldn't blow apart. "He has taken care of me, he has shown me who I really am inside, and he has shown me that there is nothing to fear at all! You yourself.. You have done none of those things while dad was away for those brief stints! I would say the complete opposite about this! You know you had hurt me, you even threatened to kill me on multiple occasions!" The director offset started to get concerned and raised a finger. "Carrie, Ma'am? I think you're taking things too-" But Carrie turned around and snapped back. "No! I want ALL OF YOU to hear this!" Then she turned around to her mom and continued to let her mom have at her frustrations.

"Dad promised to spend more time with me, but no! You just said 'Surprise, honey! Here's the divorce papers! Now get out before you see worse of me!' I almost died learning the truth about what happened to him, cause I don't believe half of your lies. I know you killed him out of PURE. COLD. BLOOD!" Carrie yelled and began to pant heavily from her rant. "If I were in your shoes.. I wouldn't even think of coming within 100 feet of you even if I had a six foot pole. And I hope you know that the minute I turn 18, I don't know if I ever have the heart on seeing your rear ended face ever again.." Amelia was silent for a moment as she cleaned her ear. Then the reality finally strikes her hard and her emotions began to spill out as she began to cry hard. Her side of the room began flooding with her tears until Carrie pulled a plug as the drain sucks it back down.

Carrie stares at her mom and sighs. She never meant to make her mother cry, but something finally had to be done. "Look, I still have a heart, but I don't have the heart to forgive you for all you have done.. Not yet." Amelia wiped her wet cheeks and breathed in. "The time I have spent here really made me think.. I know you'll not forgive me now, but I'll give you some time." Carrie stood up and hung up the phone, and walked out, letting the heavy weight be lifted off her shoulders.
