🎟 Twelve 🎠

Jungkook stood angrily by his favourite unicorn, absent-mindedly running his fingers up and down her face as he watched his staff gather around the large carousel. It was the only source of light in the entire fair, so made the faces of the men and the few women stood around him look dark and imposing.

However, he could sense their fear, and though he would usually enjoy the taste of their terror on his tongue, he was too angry for that tonight.

His sharp eyes located the man he had given the task of bringing the girl to, and he narrowed them as they flashed red.

"I can see that once again, she isn't here," He said, just showing them enough anger to know he was serious, "Hoseok, would you care to explain?"

"I gave her best friend the tickets," The man said clearly, the slight bite of panic filling Jungkook's nostrils, "I told him to bring her and told him there was a special gift waiting for her!"

Jungkook pushed the growl that was threatening to bubble up out of his throat back down, "You didn't do a very good job, now, did you?" He turned his attention back to the unicorn and crouched down a little, smiling as he saw her pretty grey eyes roll around. His favourite time of night was eleven o'clock until one o'clock. At half past eleven, the unicorns are able to control their eyes. It isn't much, but seeing them roll around rather than be set into one position, gave Jungkook happy chills. Then, at midnight, they transformed, and he loved watching that part; the magic that filled the air made him feel empowered, and the suffering and fear of his girls kept him well fed.

"My darling Beau," He said, grinning as her steely eyes met his. She was afraid of him, he could smell it, but she tried not to show it. She glared at him and showed him anger, but never fear. It had been ten years and he had yet to break her. He was excited for the day he would finally triumph against her, "It doesn't look like your new friend is coming tonight,"

He could feel the static energy in the air and knew it was nearing midnight. The unicorns could tell, as well, and their eyes rolled around more in their heads, and he could hear the snorts starting to come from the noses and mouths of their wooden prisons.

He stood up straight and stepped down from the carousel, his feet moving him to stand in front of his workers, and just as he turned, the little clock at the top of the carousel chimed, and the sounds of splintering wood filled the air.

Hana, Taehyung and Jimin watched in horror as Beau, as well as some of the other unicorns, began to move, writhing it what looked like pure agony. Their legs straightened and their backs bucked. Their elegant necks tossed their heads up and down as the wood began to splinter and crack, before changing colour and sinking in as if it were being pulled into quicksand.

The long legs shrunk and the unicorns all slid down the poles until they were resting on the floor. The carved manes changed, breaking free of their moulds and flowing in various different colours. The tails shrunk in, retreating as the back legs snapped in unnatural angles, pushing and pulling until they were no longer horse shaped, but human, and bent at the knee.

Fingers grew out as the hooves flattened, and the long faces of the horses shrunk back into a human-shaped head as the rest of the body slimmed out, becoming less muscular and solid, and more delicate and soft.

Women, still attached to the poles, gasped for breath as they collapsed onto the floor of the carousel.

"Bee!" Jimin's exclamation came out as a choked sob, and Taehyung and Hana grabbed him as he went to dive out of the stall.

"You can't!" She hissed, "Hoseok said he will come and get us! We can't do anything now!"

"But she's right in front of me! I can get to her, I can save her!" Jimin replied angrily, shrugging them off, "She's in so much pain!"

"We have to wait!" Taehyung insisted, "I promise, we will save her, but we can't do it right now,"

Jimin reluctantly moved back down, but his muscles were tense and trembling, and Hana could see tears running down his face.

"We will save her," She promised, "We will save all of them,"

Jungkook stepped back up onto the carousel, walking around as his girls gasped for their breaths. The long, golden and silver poles were keeping them on their hands and knees, in a bowed position, exactly where they should be; grovelling at his feet. However, as he came to Beau, his very favourite, she slowly raised her head, lowering the bottom half of her body and raising the front, despite how uncomfortable it would have been. The pole went directly through her shoulder blades and out the front just above her breasts, making it hard to be upright.

He grinned, his eyes red as he crouched down, gripping her chin with long fingers. He met her glare with amusement in her eyes, "I didn't tell you, did I my pretty?" He pulled at her chin, lifting her head up even higher, so she was forced to put her feet underneath herself and stand so she was bent over, "I saw your little boyfriend a couple of days ago. It's nice to know that he hasn't given up finding you, isn't it?" He stroked her cheek, moving his face in close to hers, "It's a shame he will never get you back, my lovely. You belong to me now,"

He stepped back, letting go of her face so she fell back to the floor. He stepped off the carousel and moved towards his most trusted worker; known among the others as the contract keeper.

"She needs to be here by the end of the week. Persuade her to come tomorrow, if she doesn't, you will bring her here,"

"Yes, boss," Came the confident reply.

Jungkook nodded, "Good," He addressed his staff, "Your time off starts now. Make sure you are back here ready to work before the fair opens tomorrow at eleven,"

As the workers dispersed, Jungkook turned back to look at his prizes. There weren't many of them that had changed to human this time; maybe thirty in total. The women the carousel had chosen had given up so easily.

He couldn't wait to get his hands on his newest prize; he knew that she would be like Beau. She hadn't even come to the carousel yet, so he knew she would be exciting.
