Chapter 10

Kyliee

I was taking a random stroll in the woods, but only problem was. . . I got kinda lost. . .I began tearing up from my panic and fear. I mean, aside from roses, I was also kinda scared of getting lost, which why I normally tend to stick close to areas I know, but I guess I ended up spacing out enough to have wandered further than I intended. I found an abandoned stadium and I walked inside. I saw an old man performing tricks and I grinned as I watched.

He eventually ended the show off and disappeared, so I got curious about where he was. I began walking towards the stage and heard laughing behind the stage, making me confused and curious. I saw the stairs that led to the top of the stage, so I began walking towards it and when I got onto the first step, I heard someone walking towards the curtains. "I told you I didn't touch it!" A guy yelled and when he walked out, it was a blue colored sort of clown with another that was a red sort of clown. I think. . .

The two seemed to be arguing about something, but I just decided to keep myself hidden for now, which meant keeping my cloak hugged to me because mg wings had a slight glow to them if I wasn't feeling any negative emotions, and through the cloak, the glow was gone, no matter how happy or something I felt. If my negative emotions took over, then my wings would be dim in brightness.

"It has to be somewhere then, so find it!" The red clown yelled and the blue one groaned before walking down the other set of stairs across the stage.

"Fine! I'll check in the audience seats!" The blue clown said, and I peeked around for a second and saw him walk into the main aisle as the red clown walked back behind stage. I saw him walk behind the left curtain and so, I decided to take behind the right curtain.

I managed to sneak past the red headed clown, but I accidentally bumped into something on the ground, causing me to panic and become scared. "Who's there? It'd better not be you, Candy Pop. . ." He said as he walked closer to me and I felt my chest tightening into itself more and more from the fear. I heard poof nearby and I glanced around the chair to see Jackie and my eyes widened a bit.

"Jason? What are you doing here?" He asked and I began to feel a bit relieved.

"It's the damn stadium, Jack. Not your mansion or whatever it was."

"The stadium?" I noticed Jackie look oved at me and he walked over to me. "What are you doing here then, Kyliee?" The red headed guy, Jason I guess, looked over at me.

"You let a little girl in here?!" Jason asked, gesturing to me and Jackie glared at him.

"I was trying to look for her and found myself here when I was trying to get to her!" The bickering continued and I eventually cut them both off.

"Don't be fighting over me being here while I'm standing right here!" I yelled and smaller objects flew at both of them just like when I was trying to get away from Offenderman and they both got tumbled down from the objects that hit them. "Look, I was sinply strolling through the woods and I ended up fetting lost before I found this place and watched an old guy doing amazing performances and then you and the blue clown came out! I was just trying to keep myself safe so far!" I yelled and then I realized that I was maybe being too loud cause now the blue clown from before came around behind the curtain.

All three of them seemed surprised and I nearly took it as the wrong reaction before the Jackie spoke up. "Let's focus on getting back then." He said and came over to me and just before he went to pick me up, a more gruff voice spoke up.

"Leave her." We all looked to see the old man I saw performing earlier and he was walking out from behind a curtain wall.

"Grande? You sure?" Jackie asked and I glanced up at him for a moment. I didn't recognize that that Jackie knew any of these people and the old man, Grande nodded.

"Of course. I'll just make her some tea while we talk." He said and I went with him to a backroom. When we got to a backroom, he glanced at me. "I don't think you'll be needing the cloak."

I looked at him before looking at the ground. "I feel more comfortable with it on though."

"I know you're a type of demon, sweetheart. A spirit one, to be exact. Didn't have too good of a father, did you?" He asked and my eyes widened before I tried to think about it.

"I wouldn't know, honestly. Mommy said he died in an accident, but that's all I know about him. . ."

"An accident, hm? Well, I suppose in that case, I could possibly tell you that I knew your mother." My eyes widened a bit. "You look just like her when she was young. Always come to see my tricks and such. She acted like a daughter to the point she wanted to be my apprentice. I taught her some of what I knew and she was able to get the concept of it quickly. Until one day, she didn't show up and I had found out she had been married to your father, which is why she had stopped visiting. He had no interest like her and I did for our magic tricks, and wouldn't even let her near anything remotely related to it."

"Now that I thought about, growing up if I got scared, she'd always do a few magic tricks to get me to be happy." I said with a small smile as he came over and he gave me some hot chocolate. "Hot chocolate? I thought you said it was going to be tea."

"It's always been said that sometimes a hot chocolate is a child's tea." I stayed silent before looking at it and smiling a bit.

"I guess that's a good point." I said as I carefully began drinking it a bit.

"You can still feel free to take off your cloak. You don't have to worry about me thinking it's odd." He said and I glanced up at him.

"Really?" He nodded.

"Yes. I deal with about five to six demons a day, though the sixth is hardly ever here, compared to the others."

"You mean like Jackie and the blue clown out there?"

He chuckled a bit with a smile. "Yes. However, Candy Pop is a jester, which is close enough to a clown, but much more old-fashioned."

"Candy. . .Pop?" I asked, tilting my head a bit.

"Yes. He often tends to behave in such a way that he's battling himself on whichever side he's on." He said and I remembered Savannah had the same dilemma herself. I then decided to take off my cloak, since he offered that I could. I smiled a bit as he didn't seem surprised by my wings even a bit. "Now, I heard quite a bit about you from Laughing Jack." I looked towards the cup of hot chocolate. "Usually, one who's been abandoned would hate the one who abandoned them. So, why doesn't he hate you?" I looked up at him in surprise before I glanced away for a moment as I thought about it and the memory of my death was the only thing playing in my head now. At least the man who killed me.

"W-Well. . .I. . .I don't know. . ." I said and I frowned a bit. "I normally end up keeping my promises and I felt bad I couldn't keep the last one I made to him. . ." I said and he smiled while resting his eyes.

"I see. . .so he doesn't hate you for that reason." He said and he stood up before smiling a bit. "What was something you want to aspire as?" He asked and I smiled a bit.

"Well, ever since I was about eight, I started taking some ballet classes and I really enjoy it! But I also enjoy magic too, and I just thought if I had to choose between the two, it would have to be the ballet. . ."

"Or both could work." He said and I looked up at him. "You see, usually people don't explore the sense of magic because they want to find logic in everything done with it. However, you can learn both." He said and I smiled a bit.

"Okay!" I smiled a bit and after a little while, I heard a knock on the door and I looked over at it and Grande did as well.

"Come in." He said and the door opened to show a girl with white and black hair and purple eyes and a cute mark on her cheek. I blinked a couple of times and she smiled a bit at Grande.

"I got back with Viviana. She's at the stage right now though," She said and then she took the time to notice me. "Who's the cutie?" She asked and my eyes widened a bit as I got a small blush and glanced away for a moment.

"This is Kyliee. She's the daughter of my old apprentice." He said and the girl looked at me.

"Really?! Name's Luna then!"

"She's Jason's daughter as well." Grande explained and I blinked a couple of times.

"His daughter?" Grande nodded.

"Right. Now, let's take a pause on your practice for now." He said and I smiled a bit before nodding.

"Okay," I said and I was a little anxious about meeting with Viviana, since last time I saw her, she did try to kill me. . .

"Viviana," Grande spoke and Viviana spoke up.

"Papa Grande." She said, turning fo face us as Jackie came over and I went over to him gladly.

"Where's Nathan?" He asked and I looked at Papa Grande.

"Nathan?" I asked and Viviana spoke up.

"He's out watching a victim. Probably not gonna be here for about a month. And what are you doing here, Kyliee?" Viviana asked when she noticed me and I froze up a bit.

"She just got lost in the woods." Jackie said and I looked at him for a moment before shd sighed.

"You better work on heading back then." Viviana said as she turned and began walking. "Your dog and mother are looking for ya." She said and she left the stage and I blinked a couple of times. Jackie looked at me.

"Let's go then, kiddo," he said and he picked me up and I let him as he began taking us outside. I glanced around Jackie's shoulder and saw Grande walk backstage where Viviana was headed and Jason and Candy Pop were still standing on the stage with Luna sitting on the edge of the stage.

We got to the lake and I stared at it for a moment as it went from slightly bright from a sunset to dark of night. I heard a voice call out and I knew it was familiar.

"Kyliee! Jack!" Scorpio called as I noticed both her and my mom rushing over. "Where were you two?" Scorpio asked and I smiled a bit.

"We went to an old stadium!" I exclaimed and Mom's eyes widened a bit.

"A stadium?"

"Yeah! And I met Papa Grande!" I exclaimed and Mom's eyes widened a bit.

"Papa Grande?" She asked and I nodded happily. "That's nice, sweetie." She said, smiling and Jackie had me set down and she came over, hugging me. "I'm just glad you turned out to be okay, sweetie." She said and I smiled, nuzzling to her a bit as I hugged her back.

After a while, we just decided to sleep by the lake for the night and I stared at the night sky, used to sleeping on the ground and we fell asleep in a four pointed star sort of way. I sat up and glanced back at the three as they turned out to be asleep. I smiled a bit before I headed to the middle of the lake and I stared at the moon overhead. I took a deep breath before sighing and closing my eyes. I zoned everything else out and I began to make myself dance. It was something I did to relax and let out some things I couldn't express to others either very well or at all.

I thought about everything in my past and had it flow through me, instead of shutting it out like I did any other time. Music I used to listen to in the ballet room when I used to perform alone played in my mind with the feeling like I was in the room.

The cloak fell off of me into the water, but I didn't bother in noticing it.
