"I should have never taken you there !" Ben was beating himself up the whole car ride back and while they were inside .

"Ben you didn't ... you couldn't have know -"

"I should have stayed with you ! God I'm a fucking idiot !" He yelled at himself .

"Ben calm down ... no harm done I'm fine -"

"He could have raped you in the middle of the hallway Rey !" He told her holding onto her arms .

"Ben you couldn't have known... Ben it's no ones fault but his " she told him "and I'm pretty sure you broke his nose "

"Rey he was ... he was touching you and -"

"And what ? I kicked him and screamed and you were here so let it go" she sighed "I'll be fine"

He sighed "it's just ... you've been through so much you don't need anymore shit happening "

"Shit happens Ben and no one can stop it" Rey sat down next to him on the couch "but both you and I are okay and whoever he was will have to explain why he has a broken nose to his parents"

Ben put his face in his hands and Rey put her head on his shoulder , rubbing on hand on his back . "It's gonna be okay Ben ... I'll survive .."

"I ... I told your grandpa I would protect you -"

"Let it go Ben !" She told him "whatever just happened we're not gonna talk about it okay ? No more !"

"Okay" he said "you looked really pretty by the way"

"Thank you" she smiled "I'm gown go change ..."

Rey was walking down the stairs when suddenly the lights began to flicker then they were out.

"Ben ?! Ben !" She yelled for him .

"Rey ?" She heard him yell as well "where are you ?"

"I don't ... the stairs !" Rey screamed to him "where's the lights ?!"

"There's a blackout or something because they're all out" he then made his way to the stairs . "Rey come down he stairs ... I'm here at the bottom" he said into the darkness .

"It's too dark I can't see" she sighed "I can't see Ben !" She sniffled .

Ben crawled his way up the stairs "it's okay" he said and he then  grabbed her hands. "Here , let me guide you down".

"I'm gonna find a flashlight... my phones dead" he told her .

"Mine too" she replied .

After about 16 minutes of shuffling around the kitchen Ben couldn't find one that worked "FUCK !" He yelled .

"Are you okay ?" She asked .

"There's no more batteries !" He groaned and who knows how long this blackout will be ? It's December and it's been raining  and oh great ! It's snowing outside ! No heat ! No light -"

"Light the fire place ... light some candles and then grab blankets !" She told him as she stumbled to the living room.

Ben threw some old wood and newspapers into the fire and started it using a lighter .

Rey and he light all the tea candles and such that his mother had all over their home .

They both had on jackets and grabbed all the blankets they could . Ben's iPad was working thankfully so they were watching Netflix .

She shivered and Ben put his arm around her to give her body heat . She snuggled in closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder .

He smiled and kissed the top of her head softly as their movie played . "The snow looks pretty " Rey said "but it's probably what killed the power"

"You're probably right" Ben told her "Rey ?" He asked "can ... Can I kiss you?"

"Yes" she whispered and suddenly he pressed his cool lips to hers .
