Chapter 27- Kiss In the Rain

Sorry for taking so long to update. I was being lazy ^_^

There were so many things that happened between Klaus and Caroline. Both fighting their own demons. But eventually, they have found themselves in this world.

The world isn't beautiful, and that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

It's been five weeks since they have been together. These five weeks have been very tiring. They were exhausted having to solve their own problems, each time the same problems.

Well, Aurora did not let Caroline go that easily. She could not accept the truth that Klaus left her for that woman. Finally, they could say that now they could be alone for some time.

Caroline wanted to go shopping, but she could not spare some time of her own. Since, her boss has been keeping her busy. She was shocked when she heard that Aurora and her boss, Tristan were siblings.

She was walking on the road, admiring every shop she could see. Each time, she would glance what the people were doing. New York was such a lively town.

Suddenly, she got spun around, and without warning, he grabbed her waist and kissed her so passionately right in the middle of the road. She was so taken off guard, but she knew it was him because of the way he smelled. She just literally melted right there.

Somehow, Klaus managed to unclip her hair and one arm was holding her tight around her waist and the other was caressing her hair. She simply got lost in the fabric of time.

Anyway, it seemed like eternity and infinity stood still at that moment.

"You came" Caroline stated with a big smile on her face.

"Anything for you, love" Klaus pecked her on her lips but she moved away.

Klaus looked at her and she looked furious.

"Why that face, Caroline? I came for you." Klaus asked with a questioning look.

"I told you to look formal for our first date and look at you. You look as if you were getting married or more precisely you look like your brother, Elijah" Caroline pouted.

"Come on love, I'm comfortable. We don't want to miss our first date, right?" Klaus raised his eyebrows in chance to convince her to drop that matter.

"You are completely right!" Caroline exclaimed, trying desperately to hide that huge grin forming on her face.

Klaus couldn't even utter a single word, Caroline grabbed him by his hand and took him to a nearby shop.

"Oh no! Don't tell me you're going to sell my favorite suit" Klaus asked, a hint of fear present all over his face.

"That's a good idea Klausy! Uh, please give me a pair of jeans and a comfortable shirt for my boyfriend please" Caroline smiled at the girl working in the shop.

"Klausy?" Klaus stated annoyed.

"What" she shrugged off her shoulders.

"Klausy? What's that name?" he repeated coming closer to her.

"Well Damon once told me that you like when people call you that. I find it a cute nickname, Klausy" Caroline smiled before pushing him away off her.

"That bastard!" Klaus cursed him under his breath.

"Now that's better!" Caroline exclaimed happily, looking at Klaus' changed clothes.

"You look more, formal" she added.

"B-But my suit" Klaus protested.

"Oh, come on, Klaus. I'm sure you have tons of suits and even if you don't what's the harm of asking Mr. Suit-brother" Caroline said.

Klaus did not know why, but she was in such a good mood that it was scaring him.

"Where are, we going Caroline?" Klaus questioned.

"To Capypa Land" Caroline smiled.

"Don't tell me it's the same Capypa Land where usually school teenagers and children play" Klaus asked.

"It's the same" she chuckled.

"Love, it's not too late to go back. We are two grown adults. What are we going to do in that kind of place" Klaus tried to make her change her mind.

"First, it's not only for kids. What's the harm of being young once again? And second, we are going. I already make up my mind. I'm not going back on my decision. You asked me to prepare our date for the day and in the evening, you'll do the rest, so no coming back. Please" Caroline showed him her puppy eyes.

"Fine" he admitted defeat.

'Forbes Women, huh?'

"Isn't it beautiful?" Caroline exclaimed.

"Yeah!" Klaus faked a smile.

"Oh, come on Klaus! Loosen up a bit. Will you ever have that chance in your life?" Caroline cupped his cheek.

"We don't know what is waiting for us in the future" she brought her hands to his neck.

"That's why we need to spend each single moment together doing all kinds of crazy things because we don't know if we will be able to do all of that" she brought her lips near his.

When her soft lips landed on his, it was like before, nothing else mattered. It was just them in this world or it was just them against this world.

Doing that kind of thing was not his cup of tea, but for the girl, no for the woman he loved he would go to his own limit to please her. He would do everything to see that smile on her face, to see her laugh or to see her cooking in the kitchen. He would give her the world, he would show her the art, the world's genuine beauty, everything just to be able to see that smile on her face.

He was walking behind her, admiring those Capypa men. Truth to be told, he never saw one of them before. Hell, he didn't know if those kinds of things still exist today.

"Klaus I'm thirsty!" Caroline pulled him to her.

"It's so hot" she grabbed his neck.

"Now, love we wouldn't want you to lose conscious. Wait for me, I'll go buy some something"

"What is it, honey? Who are you searching for?" a woman asked his husband.

"I think I happened to see my boss" the latter replied.

"Y-your boss?" his wife stated.

"Klaus Mikaelson"

"Honey, I think you took him for someone else. I don't think Klaus Mikaelson of all people would be in Capypa Land" she chuckled.

"You're probably right!"

"Good thing I saw him first, if he had seen me there I wonder what I would have do" Klaus whispered, checking his surroundings.

He must now stay on his guard.

"Here love, some refreshments"

"Don't you think you should go home, to rest for a while" Klaus proposed.

"The fun will now begin, Klausy"

Before he could say something, she grabbed him and took him to a place.

"A haunted house" she smiled.

"I always wanted to go with the person I loved. Do that kind of things"

"Reassured me love, I don't think your school life was that boring" Klaus muttered.

"Why asking?"

"Well it's mostly the kind of things, you would do when you were a teenager"

"I don't think so" she argued.

"I'm even sure, the readers are on my side. Doing this kind of thing. Right?" Klaus joked.

"We are going no matter what" she grabbed his hand and lead him inside.

"Hey Klaus, that this house is actually haunted"

"Well love don't want to sound rude, but it is actually written at the entrance 'Haunted House' "Klaus said, trying not to sound impolite.

"I know" she poked him on his chest and added

"What I'm trying to say is the ghost haunting this place was something of a poltergeist. It is said that in life he was a mild-mannered farmer, but during the invasion of 1612 he watched his entire family get slaughtered before being treated to a particularly brutal death"

"He was hung by the neck and had his guts cut from him while he was still alive. But now he is restless, unable to rest in peace and full of fury. It is said that he confuses any visitors that come to this place. An- "she got interrupted.

"I think it's enough for today"

"Don't tell me my dear Klaus is afraid of ghost story" Caroline tickled him.

"Of course, not!" he tried his hardest not to laugh.

"Oh my! You're ticklish" Caroline laughed.

"Stop it, please!" Klaus begged.

"Fine" she raised her hand in the air.

"But, I'm quite surprised to see that you weren't scared in this haunted house" Klaus said, suddenly feeling very proud of her.

'She would never stop surprising me, that woman'

"Why? Should I have been scared?"

"No, not at all. I mean in this case it was supposed to be the man who protected the girl" Klaus stated.

"I see! But I guess trying to change the typical date thing can be quite a good thing. In our case, we got to learn more things about us"

"And if I remember correctly most people would go by that route, men always the first in everything. Women must always be in the second position. That just proves I'm on the first row and you are on the second"

"I think you should stop this stubbornness of yours, and be submissive" her lips curved into a malice grin.

"And to what exactly?" he played along.

"To me, obviously" she brought their lips together.

Klaus took that opportunity and closed the gap between them. He kissed her passionately, wanting for more, not getting tired of this moment, of her kisses.

She hardly had a moment to react before he pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips, and at her grant of access, delved inside my mouth.

"And now who is the submissive?" he kissed her neck.

She pushed him away, and pouted

"You always win"

(After 5 hours)

"You look ravishing, love"

"You don't look that bad yourself"

Caroline was wearing a women's ice silk chinlon Latin dance dress.

"Shall we go?" Klaus extended his arm.

"We shall" she linked arms.

^^^^^^^^^

"So where are you taking me?" Caroline asked.

They have been driving for hours, and Klaus remained silent. A small smile played on his lips which really annoyed her.

"You shall see, love"

"Patience is a virtue" Klaus smirked at her.

"Yeah! Yeah! Whatever" she rolled her eyes.

When they entered, the candles gave far less illumination than the meanest of electrical light bulbs, yet it was all her eyes could take.

By the flickering yellow the room was dark, the shapes of furniture discernible but the colors so muted that they are almost grey.

"D-Did you do all that?" Caroline asked.

"Well, we could say" Klaus blushed.

'Even Klaus Mikaelson could blush, who has expected that?'

"There's more, love. Allow me"

Klaus lead her outside the room.

There was a small round table with only two chair. A bottle of wine was already there with its two glass. Candles were encircling the table.

"I couldn't do something big" Klaus apologized.

"It's beautiful. That's the first time someone had done all this effort for me. Thank you. I really appreciate him" Caroline whispered, she was taken aback by all of this.

Never one of the guys she dated, had done something like that.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"

"I would do everything for you" Klaus lead her to their table.

"You've got quite a good taste in wine" Caroline raised her eyebrows.

"I've been told that often"

"I didn't know you cook" she said, once again surprised.

"I'm a man of talent" Klaus smiled.

"Jack of trade, I suppose"

"I've been told" Klaus took her hand in his.

"You never told me you are quite a romantic person" she commented.

"You should have asked me" he looked at her, with those eyes burning with passion.

"Next time, I will that into consideration"

"What type of music do you listen?" Caroline asked curiously.

"I have many types, but the one I most preferred could be Jazz" Klaus said.

"Miles Davis" Caroline asked.

"Yes, I had grown quite fond of him" Klaus chuckled.

They were asking questions about each other, wanting to discover more about each taste, dislikes, likes and everything.

"Love me with all your heart

That's all I want, love

Love me with all your heart

Or not at all"

Caroline was delighted to see that Klaus even thought of the music to play.

"Wait! Is that Engelbert Humperdinck" Caroline asked, surprised.

"Would you offer me the last dance, Caroline" Klaus smiled at her.

"Of course," she let him lead her inside.

Klaus and Caroline were standing in front each other, slightly offset to the left. Caroline joined hand with Klaus. Klaus placed his hand on her shoulder's blade, while she rested her arm on his right.

"Just promise this

That you'll give me all your kisses

Every winter, every summer

Every fall"

"You are quite the dancer, love" Klaus looked at her.

"I had practice"

"I was- "

"Miss Mystic Falls, I know" Klaus chuckled.

"We already had that conversation once" Caroline realized.

"I don't mind having it once more time"

"When we are far apart,

Or when you're near me

Love me with all of you heart,

As I love you"

"I did not know you listened to Humperdinck" Klaus asked.

"You're kidding, I listened to all of his songs when I was thirteen" Caroline exclaimed.

"Don't give me your love,

For a moment or an hour

Love me as always as you love me,

From the start

With every beat of your heart"

They swing and swayed their upper bodies in the direction they were moving, it gave them a pendulum-like look.

Their actions when they were dancing were smooth and confident, making their Waltz a simple, yet elegant and beautiful dance.

"Just promise me that

You'll give me all your kisses

Every winter, every summer

Every fall"

"When we are far apart

Or when you're near me

Love me with all of your heart

As I love you"

"Don't give your love

For a moment or an hour

Love me always as you love me

From the start

With every beat of your heart"

When the song ended, they were both breathing heavily. They were sweating heavily, but that did not disturb them. They were both in in a complete silence.

The silence caressed their skin like a cool summer breeze, smoothing their soul.

The silence surrounded them like a fresh pristine, white blanket of snow on a winter's day.

"I love you" Klaus broke the silence.

They both knew it was coming. A shy look before he pulled her face closer and their lips met. But it was not like in the films or stories. No fireworks for them. Their kiss was like two strangers meeting, very formal and mechanical.

"You know" Caroline said.

"I guess rain is our thing" she smiled.

Klaus looked outside, and it was raining as she said.

"I first kissed you in the rain" she smiled warmly at that, remembering the first time she had spoken her true feelings for him.

"Then, what are you waiting for love?" Klaus chuckled.

"Come on!" they ran outside.

In the rain, Klaus' hair became one with his face, wetly draped over the bone structure that drive her crazy. His expression was quite serious. She wondered if he knew how crazy that drives her, or how it makes her want to feel every inch of his skin.

At this moment, she was the one pulling him to her. She slammed her lips against his, wanting more. She caressed his cheeks.

She intertwined their fingers together, wanting for more.

This kiss was as if they have been transported somewhere heavenly and perhaps if it weren't for the cold New York rain, she might believe they had.

She felt Klaus lips smile against hers. He swept her hair aside and kissed her just over her collarbone, he nibbled at her ear, and then sank his self into her arms.

Caroline dragged him closer. She buried her face in his shoulder curve and whispered

"I love you too"
