Elijah took out his phone and dialled a number.
"Hey!" Caroline said with her cheerful voice.
"Niklaus needs you!"

"What happened?" I asked.
"Niklaus has found the truth about..." Elijah stopped in middle conversation.
"About...??" Caroline asked.
"Mikael is not his father. I'm pretty sure you know how my father is" Elijah said worried.
"But what matters now is that you are the only person I can turn myself to. He needs you more than you can think" Elijah asked.
To Caroline, he seemed desperate. No matter how Elijah was begging her, she had already made her mind. She would help Klaus even if she was one against the whole world. Love always came in victory.
'But who knows'
"Don't worry Elijah, I'll find him and bring him back" Caroline reassured him.
She let out a sigh when she hung up. She had told him that she would find his brother but honestly she had no idea where to search.
After a few minutes, she was already giving up.
"No Caroline it's not time to give up. Not after convincing yourself that he is the one for you" she reassured herself.
She was walking, more likely running in the middle of nowhere. She was searching for him. It was in the middle of the night. She had no time to be scared of what could happen to her in the night.
She was standing against a tree breathing in and breathing out. She was exhausted.
"Did you see that man who was yelling at the hotel?" Caroline heard a woman said to his husband.
At that instant, she already knew that the man was Klaus. Immediately, she ran to see that couple.
"Excuse me!" she called.
"The man......where did you see him?" she asked desperately.
"Why are you asking?" the couple asked her.
She was not in the mood for answering questions.
'Why the hell couldn't they just answer that damn question' she thought.
"Because....... Because" she whispered.
"He's someone I care about" she shouted.
"I think we saw him at Hotel Pennsylvanian" the woman told her.
"Thank you very much" she thanked them.
"What a strange girl!" the wife said to her husband.
************
Without losing no time, she hired a cab to drive her to Pennsylvanian Hotel. She had no time to lose. Each second were counting. She would save him from his darkness.
The darkness that surrounds us cannot hurt us. It is the darkness in our own heart that we should fear.
When the taxi arrived, she rushed in the reception.
"Is there a man of the name Klaus Mikaelson?" she asked the girl.
"Um....... yes, I think" the girl answered.
"Where can I find him?" Caroline urged her.
"Room 305" she gave her the keys.
She was running in the alleys looking for Klaus. She hoped that it wasn't too late and that he would not do something that he'll regret later.
Reaching the room, she took out the keys. When she entered the room, he was nowhere to be found.
'Where is he?' she thought.
She walked in the room, searching for him everywhere. Then, she saw a door. She went to see where it would lead her and there, she saw him. He was drinking bourbon and looking at the pool.
Caroline immediately pushed the door, and went to see him.
Klaus heard someone behind him walking towards him, but he did not make the effort to see who it was. He just did not care at all. Klaus already knew that he was at the mercy of the darkness in him.
He had no one to care for, no one to cherish. He just wanted the darkness to possess him. Then, all that emotions he was feeling would be gone for good. That's what he thought.
Caroline did not know what to do. True, she ran here but she never at a single moment what to tell him when she would face him. That was not in her predication.
But she wanted at least to try. She wanted to make that effort for him only. Elijah asked her to watch over him, and a Forbes never give up.
"K-Klaus" she called taking small steps towards him.
Klaus didn't face her. His back was still facing her.
"I-I" Caroline mumbled, not knowing what to say.
She finally had the courage to say at least that
"I'm sorry. No one deserve that" she cried.
"You're sorry" Klaus laughed darkly and added
"You're sorry for the bastard son"
"Don't say that!" Caroline cried.
"Oh please Caroline! Don't look at me with these eyes" Klaus said.
"Of all person Caroline, I don't want to be looked with pity" he said darkly.
"Let me guess! Noble Elijah send you here" he laughed.
"He always thought that you are my redemption" Klaus said sarcastically.
"My supposed redemption" he took a sip from his drink.
"I-I" Caroline was cut off by Klaus.
"Guess what, I can't be saved. I guess you were a real fool believing I would care for someone as pathetic as you" Klaus took small steps towards.
Caroline knew that he did not mean them at all. But still, at the same time, she would be lying if she said it didn't hurt. Those words stung her heart more than she could think.
"Oh! Don't tell me all of me being sweet to you, you believed them all" Klaus chuckled darkly.
"I'm a Mikaelson sweetheart, I don't care" Klaus caressed her cheek.
He reeked of alcohol. Caroline pushed him away, crying.
"You care for me. All this moment you care for me" Caroline wipe off her tears.
"What make you think so?" Klaus asked a grin playing on his lips.
"Because if you didn't care about me, you would not be saying all of this. Deep inside of you, there is a part begging to be saved. You're trying to push me away. Anybody capable of love, is capable of being saved" Caroline said in a quiet voice.
"You know nothing. Nothing." Klaus slammed his glass across the wall where she was standing.
She quivered a little. She knew that he was hurting and he was trying to push her away.
Rain started falling in crazy chaotic drops, the gusting wind carrying them in wild vertices one moment and in diagonal sheets the next. It ran down their face as a thin layer, not as cold as it will be when November comes, but without the warmth of summer showers.
Rains and tears mingled on both their faces. Only the pinkness of their eyes gave any clue to their sadness.
"You're not alone Klaus. You have a family waiting for you, you have friends. You have shoulders to cry one. You have people to care for you more than you think" Caroline said walking towards him.
"Don't take all the burden on you. Share it with others" Caroline whispered.
"It's OK to care" she muttered.
"It's okay to cry"
"It's okay to be angry"
"It's okay to hate your father" Caroline said.
"It hurt, Caroline" Klaus said, tears forming in his eyes.
Then, he realized all the awful things he said to her.
"I'm sorry Caroline for hurting your feelings, I'm sorry, love" he apologized.
"Shhh!"
She walked slowly to him and pulled him closer to her wrapping her arms around him. Her embrace was warm, and her small, fragile arms seemed very protective when wrapped around his weak body. The world around Klaus melted away as he squeezed her back, not wanting that peaceful moment to end.
Caroline held him close, letting them fall in the pool. Klaus was taken aback by her action but he didn't seem to care even though they were soaked with water and they could catch a cold.
When Caroline break their hug, Klaus did not move. She thought that it was okay to wipe his tears. His skin was soft as it looked, white and smooth as freckled porcelain.
She laid her thumb on his lips to see if he would pull away be he didn't. She leaned closer. Caroline kissed him slowly. Everything went slowly so she could follow his temper and anger and search into his eyes.
"What do you think of the woman who make the first step?" Caroline asked Klaus.
"And what do you think of the man who make the second step?" Klaus smiled.
When they joined, his scent was brave, strong and certain. Caroline would never know anything as right. Klaus picked her up in bridal style, and carried her in his room.
She had been kissed by men who did a very good job. But they don't give kissing their whole attention. They just can't. No matter how hard they tried, parts of their mind are on something else. Missing the last bus or their chances of making their gal or own the techniques in kissing or maybe worry about jobs or money.
Klaus did not have technique but when he kissed her, he wasn't doing anything else. She was his whole universe and the moment was eternal because he did not have any plans and was not going anywhere. Just kissing her.
"Now we would not want the big boy to be sick" Caroline chuckled while removing his shirt.
"The same goes for the lady" Klaus removed Caroline's dress.
They were both standing naked looking at each other. Neither of them were embarrassed nor feeling unwanted. Klaus approached her and kissed her once more.
"You know......" he began kissing her on her jawline, her neck and her soft spots.
"Umm...." Caroline said enjoying that moment. She didn't want to let that moment end.
"The kiss of naked lovers enveloped in an expression of explicit sexuality, invokes in the viewer frustration and wanting, so intense is its intimacy" Klaus said.
Caroline pushed him on the bed and smirked
"This is no kissing game, it is the peeling away of the last layer of hidden emotions, before we melt into one another"
"I presume that was what you wanted to say" she said beating him to it.
Klaus rolled them over, he was on top.
"Women like kissing because it is an emotionally intimate act" Caroline said.
Klaus lifted her hair and kissed and gently nibbled the area from the hairline right down her collarbone. Klaus brought his face near hers. He bit her ears gently and whispered
"If you want me to stop, you can say" he teased her.
"You have no idea what I want to do with you, love" Klaus smirked nibbling her lobes.
His insistent mouth was parting her shaking lips, sending wild tremors along her spine.
Caroline had never felt something like that. Something too wild, too sweet. She could not describe.
"I'm faint" she whispered catching her breath.
"I want to make you faint and I will make you faint. You've had this coming for years. None of the fools you've known have kissed you like this, have they? Your precious Tyler or your stupid Oliver"
"Klaus" she moaned.
"I've said your stupid Oliver. Gentlemen all, what do they know about women. What did they know about you? I know you" Klaus kissed her.
She knew that she already had fallen in his trap. She was at his mercy. He looked at her at if an animal looking at his prey. But she was not scared, she will show no weak spirit as much as she will be with him.
Kissing her, Klaus forgot all the things that happened. His father, Damon. Everything. The moment she had kissed him, Klaus knew that, that woman will be the death of him.
He had never seen someone care so much as much as she did. She was someone else, something else. Her kiss was different. They didn't even make love, yet he was feeling all that sort of emotions.
He saw Caroline covering her body with the sheet of their bed. She was looking at the sky.
"What are you looking at, love?" Klaus asked her.
"The stars, they're beautiful" she exclaimed.
"I like the night" Klaus said looking at the sky.
"It hides my flaws, my imperfections, the scars burned onto my flesh, the stabs of knives left behind. The moon guides me through the night"
Caroline held his hand and whispered
"I love you"
"How can I love when I'm afraid to fall, but watching you stand alone" Klaus looked at her.
"All of my doubts suddenly goes away somehow" he said looking at her in admiration.
"I love you Caroline!"
"I promise I will not let anything take away what's standing in front of me. I will be brave. I've died everyday waiting for you. I'll love you for a thousand more" Klaus placed her in the middle of the bed kissing her forehead.
"Paint me" Caroline smiled at him making him looked at her with surprised eyes.
"Paint me!" she repeated before drifting in a sleep.
