**Warning: major character death**

Lloyd's destiny was always planned out for him.  He was always meant to be the green ninja, fight his father, and save Ninjago.  Sometimes he wishes that he could've had a normal childhood.  Everyone always expected so much from him and he hated it.

Currently, the ninja were picking up some strange energy signature in Stiix and went there to check it out.  They all split up to look around until something caught Lloyd's eye.  "Hey guys!  Over here!"  He picked it up.  It was some sort of weird looking rock.

"What do you have there, Lloyd?" Kai asked.

"Not sure."

Zane scanned it.  "It's from a different realm.  Djinjago to be precise."

"DJINJAGO?!!!" Jay shouted and paled.  "We have to get rid of it!  Anything from that place is dangerous!"

"Jay, calm down," Cole said calmly.  "We don't even know what it does.  Plus, I don't see the Teapot of Tyrahn anywhere around here."

Jay and Nya had just recently told everyone about everything that happened with Nadakhan.  "I agree with Jay," Nya said.  "After everything that happened before, we need to get rid of it."

"I suggest that we research it first to find out its purpose before we just get rid of it," Zane said.

"Fine," Jay and Nya reluctantly agreed.

"But I don't want to be anywhere near it," Jay said.

"Me neither," Nya said.

"And you guys don't have to be," Kai said.  "The rest of us will research it."

The six ninja made their way back to the bounty and were greeted by PIXAL, Wu, and Misako.

"Did you find the source of the weird energy signature?" Wu asked.

"Yes," Lloyd said.  "We found this weird rock from Djinjago.  We want to research it to find out what exactly it is."

"All of you?"

"Jay and Nya don't really want to, but that's understandable."

"I see."

"I'll take us back to the monastery," PIXAL said and walked into the bridge.

"Be careful with that rock," Wu told Lloyd.  "We don't know what it could do yet."

"I know."

"AND NO W-I-S-H-E-S!!!" Jay yelled.

"Got it!"  Lloyd rolled his eyes.  One thing he hated was being told to be careful or not to do something that was pretty obvious that he shouldn't do.

Lloyd got straight into researching when they got back to the monastery.  His mother, Misako got him all the books she could find about Djinjago.  Even though doing research could be pretty boring, it took Lloyd's mind off of some of his other issues sometimes.  He was looking through Djinjago books when he got a notification on his phone.  It was a reminder about an interview that he has tomorrow.  "Great.  Just great," he muttered to himself sarcastically.  He didn't like interviews.  Interviewers always just ask him about the missions the ninja have been on and there have been a lot of times that he just didn't want to talk about it.  Especially, when the whole Harumi thing happened.  He's seen so much in his life.  He's seen so much at such a young age.  He sometimes wonders what would happen if he had ignored his destiny.  "I wish I had never became the green ninja."  Lloyd meant that more as a thought and didn't mean to say it out loud.  He didn't even realize at first that he had said it out loud.  He looked back down at the book he was reading and saw a picture of the rock and read the description.  'Djinn Magical Wishing Rock.'  Lloyd didn't notice the rock starting to glow.  'It grants and twists your wish and you can't reverse it unless you learn your lesson.'  "Lesson?  What lesson?"  He finally looked up and noticed the rock glowing.  "Shoot!  Did I say my wish out loud?"  He got up from his chair and slowly started to back up as the world around him started to change.

He found himself in the middle of Ninjago City, but it wasn't his Ninjago City.  It was incredibly dark with red banners and flags with pictures of the Overlord on them.  He then looked down at himself and found that he wasn't in his green ninja gi anymore.  He was in regular street clothes.  He also noticed that he was younger.  'If I was never the green ninja, I never grew up with the Tomorrow's Tea,' he thought.  He looked around and took in his surroundings.  'What happened here?'

"You!"  Lloyd turned around and saw a...nindroid?!  "What are you doing out here?!"

"I-I..uh..." Lloyd stuttered, trying to figure out what to say.

Suddenly, rocks and fire got shot at the nindroid.  Lloyd turned his head to his left and saw none other than Cole and Kai.

"Stay back!" Cole yelled at the nindroid.

"Hey kid.  Long time, no see," Kai said bitterly to Lloyd.

"You resistance cannot win," the nindroid said.

"Yeah, yeah.  We've heard that a million times before," Cole said as he ran up and punched straight through the nindroid.  "Looks like he won't be bugging us anymore."

Kai turned to Lloyd.  It was clear that Kai was not happy to see him.  "Where have you been this whole time?!"

Cole stepped in between Lloyd and Kai.  "Kai, this isn't the time.  We have to get back to headquarters if we don't want to get caught.  We can deal with everything else later."

Kai sighed.  "Fine."

Cole and Kai lead Lloyd to their headquarters.  It was very quiet on their way there.  It was obvious that Kai was fuming while Cole was trying hard stay level-headed.  Lloyd didn't want to say anything.  He feared that Kai would go off on him at any moment.

Once they got to the headquarters, Lloyd noticed that there were a lot of elemental masters that they met on Chen's Island there.  'Wait.  If the Overlord took over, Chen's Island wouldn't have happened,' Lloyd thought.

"What brings you back here?" Cole finally asked.

"Uh...it's kind of a crazy and possibly unbelievable story," Lloyd said.

"Well, obviously it doesn't involve you fulfilling your destiny as the green ninja!" Kai yelled.

"Kai, that doesn't matter right now," Cole said calmly.

"I risked my life, finding my true potential to save his life...and in return, he runs away!"

"I know it's hard seing him again."

"We had to find some other way to make our elemental powers pure!"  Kai continued ranting.

Lloyd felt awkward listening to Cole and Kai talk and knowing how stupid he was with making that wish.

"Nya is dead because of him!" Kai snapped and it snapped Lloyd out of his thoughts.  "If he had just become the green ninja, she would still be alive!  She wouldn't have fallen off of that cliff!"

"I'm sorry," Lloyd said softly, a couple of tears escaped his eyes.

Cole and Kai turned to Lloyd, but didn't say anything.

"What about Master Wu?"

"Left on a mission and never returned," Cole said.

"What about Jay and Zane?"

"This isn't our first headquarters," Cole started.  "The Overlord found the other one and attacked it.  We originally thought that he was just trying to squash the resistance, but...that wasn't the goal."  He sighed.  "When the dust settled...they were both gone.  We found out what the Overlord wanted them for later.  He reprogrammed Zane and used him as a model to create an army of nindroids."  He paused.  "He wanted Jay to be able to have an endless supply of electricity to keep his nindroids running."

"We have to do something to get them back!" Lloyd exclaimed.

"We can't," Kai said in a monotone voice.  "Zane is the Overlord's right-hand nindroid and stays by the Overlord most of the time in their headquarters, Borg Tower.  That's also where they're keeping Jay.  It's heavily guarded."

"But you guys have an army of elemental masters!"  Lloyd quickly put a hand over his mouth, realizing what he just said.

"We didn't say these guys here were elemental masters," Cole said gesturing to the other elemental masters in their headquarters.  "How did you know?"

"Remember how I said that the story of why I'm here is crazy and unbelievable?"  Cole and Kai nodded.  "This isn't my reality."

"Not following," Cole said.

"I accidently made a wish used some Djinn Magical Wishing Rock."

"What was your wish?"

"That I had never become the green ninja."

"So, everything that has happened to us was because of you?!" Kai said angrily.

"Kai, I didn't mean to.  I didn't even know that I had said it out loud at first.  I was just tired of my life as the green ninja."

"How do we know you're telling the truth?"

"If I was from this reality, would I know how to do this?"  Lloyd created a ball of green energy in his hands.  "Just because this isn't my reality doesn't mean that I don't know how to use my powers."

Cole and Kai looked at what Lloyd did in awe.  "If you made a wish, can you undo it?" Cole asked.

"I have to learn some kind of lesson to undo it and I don't even know what that lesson is."

"Well, you better figure it out," Kai said angrily.

"Right now, we have to coordinate our next attack on the Overlord," Cole said.  "We have to show him that the resistance stands a chance to defeat him."

"Why don't you attack his headquarters?" Lloyd asked.

"Did you not hear the part about it being heavily guarded?!" Kai asked.

"But if you launch a major attack on Borg Tower, you could deplete his resources and rescue Jay as well as possibly get Zane back.  It could give you guys more of a fighting chance."

"I think he's right," Cole said.

"What are you guys talking about?"  The three of them turned around to see a certain red-head walking up to them.

"Skylor!" Kai said.  "Hey babe."

"Wait.  Even in this reality, you two are dating," Lloyd said.

"This reality?" Skylor asked.

"Skylor, this is Lloyd," Kai said.

"Oh.  You mean the kid who didn't fulfill his destiny as the green ninja."

"Apparently, he's from a different reality, but he made a wish that he hadn't become the green ninja."

"Wow."  That was all Skylor could say.

"Come on Lloyd.  Let's leave these two love birds alone," Cole said and guided Lloyd away from Kai and Skylor.

"If Kai and Skylor are dating, were Jay and Nya dating before...you know?" Lloyd asked.

"Yeah.  They were.  Since, you or the you in this reality left us, Master Wu told Nya about her destiny to become the master of water and started training her to be a ninja with the rest of us instead of the Samurai X.  It was to try to give a bit more of a fighting chance.  Jay and Kai took it the hardest when Nya died.  It actually wasn't long after that that the Overlord had attacked our old headquarters."

"Wow.  It was just one blow after another, huh?"

Cole nodded sadly.  "It was.  You know, you actually came up with a good plan."

"Well, in my reality, I actually became the leader of the team."

"That's my job!" Cole said playfully.

"Well, you lost it to me.  Get over it."

Cole laughed a little and it was the first time Lloyd heard anyone in this reality laugh.  "Ok.  We better get planning."  Little did they know that the Overlord had sent a spy to see what the resistance was planning.

Borg Tower

The spy casually walked into Borg Tower and went to the Overlord who was sitting in his throne with his right-hand man, Zane, next to him.  Zane's girlfriend, PIXAL, was on the sitting down on the other side of Zane.  Thos two were saying cute things to each other.

"I see my trusted spy has returned," the Overlord said.

"Yes, my lord," the spy said.  "I bring urgent news."

"What is it?"

"The kid who ran away from his destiny as the green ninja has returned.  Although, he's claiming to be from a different reality."

"I see.  Anything else?"

"Yes.  They're planning on attacking us here."

Zane looked to his master.  "What shall we do?"

"Let them come.  They won't know they're walking into a trap until it's too late," the Overlord said and then laughed evily.

Resistance Headquarters

Once Lloyd and Cole mapped out a plan, they took it back to the rest of the resistance.

"All of you will create a distraction, a big one," Cole said.  "While you're doing that Lloyd, Kai, and I will sneak in, find Jay and Zane, and shut his network down from inside.  Is everyone clear on the plan?"  Everyone nodded.  "Remember, this could be our only shot at doing some serious damage."

They all started to go to Borg Tower.  They used rooftops so that they would be less likely to get spotted.  Once they arrived at Borg Tower, everyone except Lloyd, Cole, and Kai attacked the guards in front of Borg Tower and set off the alarms.  Shortly after, an army of nindroids came out to fight off the resistance.  The three ninja took it as their chance to sneak into the tower.

Once they were in, they were immediately greeted by Zane and PIXAL who were waiting.

"Look who decided to show up," Zane said.  "PIXAL honey, why don't you go down to the control room to monitor everything that's going on?"

"In a minute," PIXAL said.  "I want to see their reactions when we show them our surprise."

"Surprise?!" Kai said confused.

"What surprise?!" Cole asked.

"I would like you to meet our spy who had been watching you guys and told us about your plan to attack his place," Zane said as the spy jumped down from where they were hiding.  The spy took off the hood and as revealed to be Nya who was corrupted by dark matter.

"Nya?!" Kai said in shock and slowly walked up to her.

"Kai don't!" Lloyd warned.

When Kai reached her, he put his hand up to her cheek.  "I thought I lost you."  Nya grabbed his hand and twisted it.  She then proceeded to flip him.  "Ok.  Not good Nya."

"I tried to warn you!"  Kai scowled at Lloyd as he was trying to get back up.

PIXAL left to go to the control room while the others started to fight.  Lloyd and Cole were fighting Zane while Kai was fighting Nya.

"Come on Zane.  This isn't you!" Cole said, trying to get his friend back.

"This is me!  The new me!" Zane said coldly.

"Well, I for one, don't like it," Lloyd said and he managed to knock Zane out from behind.  "I'm sorry about that, buddy."

"Nya, I'm glad you're back and all, but can you go back to being good Nya?" Kai said while fighting his sister.

"Good Nya is gone," Nya said.  "I like being bad so much more."

"Then, I'm sorry about this."  Kai knocked her out and went to join up with Lloyd and Cole.

The three made their way to where Jay was being held.  They saw his powers being sucked out of him for a few seconds and then it stopped.  Once it stopped, they saw Jay, who had passed out from exhaustion, chained to a wall.  Cole went up and broke the chains.  He grabbed Jay and gently placed him onto the ground for a minute.  Jay eyes slowly opened and Cole let out a breath that he didn't even know he was holding.  "You ok, buddy?" Cole asked.

"C-Cole, i-is that y-you?" Jay asked weakly.

"Yeah.  It's me.  I'm here with Lloyd and Kai."  Jay tried to sit up, but was too weak.  "Woah.  Don't strain yourself...and don't even think about trying to use your powers right now.  With how exhausted you are, using them at all could kill you."  Jay nodded weakly.  Cole got Jay up and slung one of Jay's arms over his shoulder.

The four of them walked out and were instantly greeted by the Overlord.  "I see you found my power source," the Overlord teased.

"He's not a power source!" Cole yelled angrily.

"You ninja don't give up easily.  I want you guys to feel pain.  By the way, your resistance was taken care of."  The Overlord showed them a screen and on that screen was all of the resistance fighters that were causing a distraction on the ground, dead.

"SKYLOR!!!" Kai screamed angrily.

"That's not all."  The Overlord brought out Zane and Nya with a big cannon.

"What are going to do with that?" Cole asked.

"You'll see."  He had the nindroid aim it and Zane and Nya.  "They're under my control, so they will do whatever I say, including getting disintegrated by a cannon."

"N-Nya i-is alive!" Jay weakly exclaimed.

"Right.  We forgot to fill you in on that part," Cole said.

The Overlord had the nindroid fire the cannon at Zane and Nya and the two ninja were disintegrated in front of everyone.

"NO!!!" Jay, Lloyd, Cole, and Kai yelled.

More nindroids showed up and surrounded the ninja.  Cole placed Jay down behind him.  "Stay right here," Cole said as they started to fight.

"Still think this was a good wish?" Kai asked Lloyd

"I never said that I thought this was a good wish," Lloyd said.  "I said that I accidently made a wish."

They continued fighting, but a nindroid ended up sneaking up behind Cole and was about to kill him until Jay noticed and used whatever strength he had left to shoot him with lightning.  Jay collapsed afterwards.  "JAY!!!" Cole yelled and knelt beside him.  "I told you not to do that!"

"I-I h-had to do i-it," Jay was struggling to breath.

"Come on.  Stay with me."

"I-It's o-ok.  N-Now I c-can be with N-Nya."  Jay closed his eyes and took his last breath.

"Jay?!  JAY!!!"  Tears came out of Cole eyes.  His best friend lost his life trying to save him.

Kai wasn't having much luck on his end.  The nindroids just kept coming.  All of a sudden, he felt a lot of pain in his abdomen.  He looked down and saw that he had been stabbed.  The nindroid that stabbed him pulled the sword out.

"KAI!!!" Lloyd yelled as he ran to Kai's side and helped place him gently on the ground.

Kai started coughing and looked at Lloyd who had tears in his eyes.  "Give 'em hell."  Those were Kai's last words.

The Overlord went up to Cole, who was still by Jay's body, and put him in a headlock and turned him to Lloyd.  Lloyd saw the Overlord with Cole and stood up.  "You can't beat me Lloyd...and you know it."

"Let Cole go!" Lloyd shouted.

"He's too much of a pain to keep around."

"Do what you gotta do Lloyd," Cole said.  "I trust you."  The Overlord snapped Cole's neck and he fell to the ground, dead.

"Now, to deal with you."  The Overlord started walking closer to Lloyd.

"I understand now," Lloyd said.  "The green ninja is important!  Ninjago wouldn't be safe without the green ninja!"  The Overlord was about to strike the final blow to Lloyd.  "I WISH I HAD NEVER MADE THAT WISH!!!"

His reality started to go back to normal and he fell over, back where he was when he made his wish.  He got up and saw the rock on his desk and screamed as he backed away from it.  Everyone ran into the room.

"Lloyd, what's wrong?" Kai asked worriedly.

"KAI!!!" Lloyd shouted and hugged Kai tightly.

The sudden hug shocked Kai.  "Woah.  Everything alright."

"Now it is."  He turned back to the rock.  "We have to get rid of that!"

"Why?  What happened?" Cole asked.

"I acccidently made a...w-word that I never became the green ninja and it was bad, like really bad, extremely bad-"

"Lloyd, calm down," Cole cut him off.

"Did you seriously just say w-word?" Kai asked.

"I saw you all die," Lloyd said sadly.  They all looked at him with sympathy.

"As you can see, we're all still here," Nya said comfortingly.  "And we're not going anywhere."

"We'll get rid of it first thing tomorrow," Zane said, grabbing the rock.  "It's pretty late right now.  Why don't you try to get some sleep?"

"That's a good idea," Lloyd said.  "Let me just clean up here first."

Everyone left Lloyd alone, except for Jay.  "Hey Lloyd," Jay said.  Lloyd turned to face him.  "I know how bad making the w-word can be.  I also know what it feels like to see everyone die in front of your own eyes."

"What do you mean?" Lloyd asked.  "We didn't all die."

"You guys getting turned to gold.  You guys getting cubed in Prime Empire.  It's pretty similar to dying.  What hurt the worst was seeing Nya hit by the venom."

"Oh yeah.  I forgot about that."

"All I'm saying is that if you need someone to talk to, I'm here."

"Thanks Jay."

"No problem.  Get some rest."

"I will."  Lloyd gave Jay a big smile and was actually happy that destiny picked him to be the green ninja.  If his friends were safe, then he was doing a good job.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed!  This idea popped into my head and I just had to do it.  It's also 3000+ words which is crazy for me.  It was so hard to kill everyone.  It's currently after 1:00am where I live and I should probably sleep.  Still hope you enjoyed!
