CHAPTER TEN: MOTHER'S DAUGHTER !
3x18
━━━━━━
WHEN CASEY WOKE UP THIS MORNING, SHE KNEW WHAT DAY IT WAS. Casey sighed, getting out of her covers, going to the bathroom and getting ready.
When she went into the bedroom, she looked at the jewelry she'd be wearing today. A necklace with the letters S,J,C. She rarely ever wore that necklace except for special occasions. And tomorrow was one of those days. Though she'd only call it a painful reminder. May as well get the pain started early.
Casey had made herself a cup of coffee and fed the cats outside the fire escape of her apartment. Looking down at her phone, she checked the time and realized it was time to head into work.
Of course, if you call her internship work. To her, she didn't mind always getting coffee for her teammates when they needed it. But they often didn't treat her as an intern as such. Especially since she got shot very recently, they'd been taking it way too easy on her.
So, Casey grabbed a tray of coffees and memorized everyone's orders so she'd give them what they wanted. Seeing that Rossi and Hotch wouldn't be in the office today because they were working on something else of their own in Boston, she'd only gotten Emily, JJ, Morgan, Garcia and Reid coffee, along with herself, of course.
The first person she delivered to was Garcia and she'd gotten her her signature macchiato — the most complicated order she'd ever had gotten anyone. She'd also added in a warm croissant to her order. With a swift kiss to her cheek, Casey exited the room.
She then went over to JJ's office and had gotten her a latte. JJ thought it was a kind gesture and said thank you and Casey headed into the bullpen and found Morgan, Emily and Reid at their desks, chatting away.
One by one, she dropped coffee over to Morgan, Emily and Reid in that order before heading over to her desk with her own coffee and getting ready for her studying. This was her norm every time they didn't have a case. Casey would get the team coffee, she'd go right into studying, occasionally talking to her team every now and again.
Trying to just keep her mind off tomorrow would've been good. But it was harder to do than say. Casey's phone on her desk began to ring so she had then answered it. "Casey Willows, BAU intern speaking."
"Casey?" A woman's voice asked on the opposite side. She almost sounded like she knew Casey based on how she spoke. Casey furrowed her brows. She didn't sound familiar. "Uh, yeah, who is this?" Casey asked.
There's a long pause on the other line. "Oh, my gosh." The woman nervously chuckled. "I'm sorry, my name is Keri Derzmond. Your mother was my best friend." She said and Casey began to absentmindedly play with the necklace around her neck. "You—?" Casey looked around and made sure no one listened to her conversation. "You knew my mother?"
"And your father," The woman added. "Stephanie Gideon. And James Willows. We all used to be the best of friends." She said. Casey then remembered. "Keri. Right. Hi, I remember you." The last time she'd seen this woman had been when she was thirteen. She hadn't seen her in a long time.
"Yes, I'm glad you do." Keri said. "You sound like her. Your mother." Casey had often been compared to her mother through photos and such. Never had she been compared to her by her voice. She was compared to a voice she'd never heard in her life.
"Anyway, um, I called because I sort of looked you up and know that you're working for the FBI. In fact, I, uh, have actually kept tabs on you for most of your life. I need your help with something." She said.
The woman began to explain that she was being stalked and that the local police had not been helping her out with the stalking situation and that she needed better reinforcements. Casey told the woman to come by the BAU and she would deliver the case herself to her team. Of course, Hotch would have her head on a platter if he was here but he wasn't. Casey had decided to bring it over to JJ, printing out files and messages and photos that Keri's stalker sent her.
Casey had paced in JJ's office as she gave the file and messages over to Emily and JJ. She anxiously waited as she did and looked at Emily. "You done?" She asked. "Almost." Emily answered.
"It's pretty powerful, right?" Casey questioned. "I can see why you'd meet with her." Emily told. "And she knew your mother?" JJ asked. Casey nods, "Yeah, her and my mom were like best friends in high school and college. I saw her a lot growing up. But when I turned thirteen, she moved to Atlanta and... I guess I lost touch with her." Casey explained.
"Seems like she never lost touch with you." Emily told. Anderson walks into the room, knocking on the doorway. "Willows, there's a woman here for you. Says it's urgent." He tells. "Send her in." Casey tells.
The woman walks in the room and looks right at Casey. "Casey?" She asks. "Hi, Keri." Casey smiled. To Keri, Casey was the spitting image of her mother. And Casey saw it in her eyes. "It's so good to see you again." Keri said. "It's good to see you again, too. Sorry it has to be under these circumstances."
Keri turns over to JJ at her desk and Emily standing near it. "Oh, uh, I'm Keri Derzmond." She shakes JJ's hand as she stands from her seat. "Agent Jareau. This is..." Emily introduces herself, shaking the woman's hand. "Emily Prentiss."
"I work with them. JJ is our communications liaison and Emily's an agent for the BAU." Casey explained. "I'm sorry to rush in, but when I got the message you'd see me this morning, I had to just rush in." Keri told.
"We read the letter you wrote to the Silver Spring police." JJ said. "Begging and pleading wasn't getting their attention. They needed to know I wasn't going away." Keri told. "So you've been getting these notes for the past two years?" Casey asks.
"I used to be in Atlanta, you remember. I moved here six months ago, and then out of nowhere another note. I can't live like this anymore. I want my life back." Keri stated.
"What did the police tell you?" Emily asks. "The detective I met with was... very sympathetic, but his hands are tied unless something happens to me. Then it will be too late." Casey nods in understanding and looks around the room at the woman. "Will you help me?" She asks.
Casey looks at JJ with pleading eyes, hoping she'll present it. "I'm presenting the case to our team this morning." JJ tells. "I'll let you know what we decide."
Keri sighs and grabs a pen and notepad from JJ's desk. "Lou Evans, Ed Derzmond, and Ryan Scott." She says as she writes them down and hands the paper to JJ. "Excuse me?" JJ asks.
"Those are the people who you'll be calling when you find me dead." Keri told.
"Keri, we said we'd present it. And we will. You just have to be patient with us." Casey tells and the woman nods, looking at Casey. "It was good to see you again." She says as she walks out of the room.
Deciding to tell Morgan and Reid to meet up in the conference room, JJ, Emily and Casey had gone to meet up with them as well. Morgan looks towards the door. "Where's Mom and Dad?" He asks, referring to their unit chief and senior agent.
"Hotch and Rossi are still at the seminar in Boston. We shouldn't wait on this." JJ tells. "Casey pulled me and JJ in early. I agree." Emily nods. "Wait, this came to you?" Reid asks and Casey nods, sitting by JJ, facing the screen.
"This is Keri Derzmond. Two years ago in Atlanta, she started receiving anonymous notes that meticulously described her whereabouts throughout the day. Local authorities never found out who was responsible." JJ explained. "Recently, she moved to Maryland, brought the stalker with her."
"They think it's the same person?" Morgan asks. "He includes photographs of himself." Emily tells as JJ shows them on the screen. "None of his face. That's very telling. He's either trying to protect his identity or he has self-image issues. He's controlling the parts of his body that he shows to her."
"He writes to Keri in these letters about their "future" together-- having kids, growing old. He believes Keri is in love with him and just doesn't know it yet." Emily explained.
"Okay, so the guy's clearly delusional, but what makes this a BAU case?" Morgan questions. Emily and JJ exchange a look and Casey knows eventually, she's gonna need to speak up on how she got the case.
"Because—"
Casey interrupts Emily. "Because Keri Derzmond asked for my help specifically. She brought the case to me." Looking around the room, she sighs. "She was my mother's best friend." She reveals. "Therefore, she's family. And I don't let family down. This guy he's... so obsessed with her that he tracked her over 600 miles away."
"That is unusual," Reid sides. "Typically, a stalker will change his focus to another woman if the object of his affection moves away."
"I mean, I get that, and he's way past the first level of escalation, but... still." Morgan tells, very odd about this choice of case. "When Keri received the first letter in Maryland, she went to the locals for protection." Emily told. "They told her they couldn't help her. This woman is in serious danger."'
"This case is in my hands now, and if we do nothing and something happens to her... I'll be the one notifying her family." JJ told. "And so will I." Casey adds.
"Look, I know I'm just an intern and I can't do anything but the least I can do is try and help her. Please help me do that." Casey was practically begging here. The team had to have understood that. And besides, they had done practically everything for her already ever since she'd gotten shot a few months ago.
Looking around the table, Morgan spoke for everyone: "Okay." Casey nodded, "Thank you."
Arriving to Maryland, Casey had gone with Emily to go and talk to Keri at her workplace. During this, Casey had received a phone call from her director at the academy and she'd hung up and huffed. "What was that?" Emily asks.
"My director at the academy," Casey answered. "Calling to remind me that this case doesn't count for my training since it's not a case."
"The Bureau does have four agents doing the work that locals should." Emily stated. "I know, but just because there isn't a dead body doesn't mean we shouldn't take the case. I mean, do people realize that?" Casey wondered.
"Hey, the fact that law enforcement, including the FBI, can't help someone until they've been injured is appalling. All I'm saying is it is a drain on the system." Emily told.
"Emily," Casey paused and stopped walking as Emily stood in front of her. "Last year, when I was in college, I had a friend of a friend who was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. Cops knew who he was, but they couldn't arrest him. And you know what happened? She was finally granted a restraining order three days after he threw acid in her face. Right now, I don't care about limited resources. Right now, I just wanna focus on making sure Keri feels safe again." Casey explained. Emily understood and nodded at Casey, heading in the office.
After conversating with Keri, Emily and Casey arrived back at the PD. During that, Keri's husband Ryan called Keri and told her that had received a box outside the door. There had been a present of antique earrings and another photo with a letter. That night, Keri's dog had ended up getting swiped by the unsub.
The next day, the team had been informed of what had occurred. "You think he's got the guts for a confrontation?" Ryan asked Emily, JJ and Casey in front of him. "He moved here, took Brodie. He's not going to let anything get in his way." JJ explained.
"He cares about Keri. Maybe he won't hurt her. He hasn't yet." Ryan told. "He doesn't want to, but if he feels like he's gonna lose her, then he will." Emily says. "Lose her?" Ryan asks.
"He's been rejected his entire life. To escape, he built a vivid fantasy world in which someone accepted him." Casey explained. "Me." Keri sighed.
"Worst-case scenario-- he gets you alone. In which case it would be important for you to play along with his delusions." Emily told Keri. "You mean like tell him I love him?" Keri questioned, disgust lingering in her voice. "Within reason, do what he wants." Emily tells.
"By gaining his trust, he'll let his guard down, and that's when you can make your move." Casey added. "You think it could come to that?" Ryan asks. "Well, not if we can help it." JJ hopes. "We're gonna have to comb through your life ever since he's been a part of it."
"Haven't we already done that?" Keri questions. "We're talking about each and every moment for the last two years. The answer could be in the smallest detail." Emily tells.
Keri looks at Casey. "This is just a precaution. We can find him this way." Casey assures and Keri thinks about it a second more and then nods, "Okay."
Digging through Keri's life, JJ had gone to talk to Garcia about whatever she can find. Emily and Casey stayed so the Keri, going through papers among papers. Casey could tell Keri was getting agitated with all of this since she was trying hard to dig through the past two years.
"We're looking for a connection to March 21st." Emily told. "Is it anyone's birthday or annerivsary?" She asks. Keri shakes her head. "No, the 21st doesn't mean anything to me."
JJ walks into the room with a sheer look on her face. "What's up?" Emily asks and JJ sits down in front of Keri, Casey and Emily. "Why'd you go to the clinic last year?" She asks and Casey can tell Keri is hesitant answer and is shocked that JJ had found out.
"We need full disclosure, Keri." Casey told. Keri looks at Casey and sighs, knowing that if anything was gonna help getting her stalker, she needed to come clean. "Ryan doesn't know. Back when... we were figuring out what this is... if I was moving... I was pregnant." She admitted. "And I couldn't-- I couldn't have a baby, not then."
"That was your decision." Casey assured. "You don't have to explain that to anyone." JJ added.
"I know. It's just, Ryan's career was taking off, I didn't want to trap him—" Casey turns around and notices Ryan walk into the room. "Keri." JJ tries to stop her. "I didn't want us to have any regrets." Keri continued. "Keri." Casey tries.
Turning around fully, Keri looks over and sees that her husband just heard her confession. Keri stands in front of Ryan and has a sad look on his face. "Ryan." Keri spoke.
JJ, Casey and Emily all exchange an awkward look. "Were you ever gonna tell me?" Ryan asks. "I thought you wanted to have kids."
Keri nods, "I do."
"You didn't think I'd drop everything to raise a baby?" Ryan questions. "I knew that's exactly what you'd do." Keri says with tears in her eyes. "I gotta go." Ryan tells.
"Wait, Ryan. I'm sorry." Keri tells and Ryan walks out of the house. Keri lets out a sob as she makes her way out of the room. "Keri." Casey tries.
Ryan had come back into the house soon enough, revealing to the women that his car was damaged and they knew their unsub had taken more drastic measures.
The three women made their way back to the PD as Emily had just gotten off the phone. Casey was seated in a seat, looking through papers and fiddling with her necklace. Reid sitting in front of her and JJ seated next to her. Morgan was adding more pictures to the board.
"That was Detective Berry. He just took Ryan's police report. He's got about $500's worth of damage to his car." Emily explained and Casey sighed, leaning back in her seat. "Hey, why are you taking this so hard?" Emily questioned to the young woman.
"Keri's life has been turned upside down for the past two years, and then we just come on in and tear it up some more. Great on us, right?" Casey stated sarcastically.
"But to catch her stalker, we have to ask those questions. She knew it would be uncomfortable." Emily told. "That's an understatement." JJ sided with Casey on this one.
"Casey, you fought for this case." Reid spoke, causing Casey to look at him with a glare. "You practically begged us to come down here." Morgan nodded, "You wanted to help Keri. That's what we're sitting here trying to do."
"Then why do I feel like we violated her, too?" Casey questioned to the team, nearly snapping at all of them. "For two years, people have let her down over and over again and now, we come in and we just... we just what? Try and help her out? I don't see us doing that. Keri deserves better than that, my mother deserved better than—" Casey stopped herself, realizing just how ridiculous she'd sounded.
Placing a hand on her necklace, she realized what this was truly about. Why she was acting this way. And now she'd let it affect the case. "Excuse me." She said and scooted out of her chair, going outside to take a breather.
Casey was out there on the steps of the PD for at least a solid thirty minutes. And for those thirty minutes, she thought about her mother. She thought about how she'd never heard her talk, laugh, sing. She'd never seen her face. She would've never heard what her name sounded like coming from her mouth. She thought about all of the things she never witnessed her mother doing. She thought about when people would tell her she looked like her mother or talked like her. She never knew if she could consider it a compliment or an insult. She also disliked when people said she reminded them of her mother, because her mother died young and frankly, Casey had a close call with death very recently and it scared her. Terrified her.
Reid had come outside, wanting to check in on Casey later on so she wouldn't bite his head off. He realized what he said was mean but he didn't realize that Casey had taken this case to heart as personal as it could get. It obviously had something to do with her mother and he understood the relationship between a mother and child all too well.
Reid had walked down the steps with two cups of coffee in his hands and noticed as Casey absentmindedly fiddled with her necklace and bounced her leg up and down in anxiousness. She pulled a strand of hair behind her ear. Something she frequently did when she was anxious. That or biting her nails.
"You've been, uh, messing with your necklace a lot." Reid pointed out as he sat next to Casey. Casey had seen him coming so he hadn't frightened her and she looked over at his as he handed her a cup of coffee. Silently thanking him, she realized she needed it.
Casey noticed as Reid stared at her chest and would've made a comment about it had it not have been for her realizing that he was just looking at the necklace. "S, J and C," He said to himself. "What do they stand for?" He asks curiously.
Casey looks down at the necklace. She'd never talked about this out loud before. First time for everything. She traced the letters with her finger as she spoke. "S is for Stephanie. It was my mother's name." She told. "J is for my dad, James. And C is for Casey. I don't wear it a lot, I wear it every year." She revealed.
"Every year?" Reid asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Casey looks down. "My mother's birthday is today," She admits. "Every year, I wear it and it feels like she's with me. And this whole thing with Keri... it's kinda like she is. She was 21 when she had me. She died a few days after I was born. It's kind of weird because I'm about to turn 21. I guess that's why I'm letting it get to me." She shrugged and all of a sudden, her behavior was explained to Reid.
"You also got shot very recently," Reid added. "It could also be that you're trying to help anyone and everyone before... it's too late?" He wondered. He knew he'd gotten the same way when the whole thing Tobias Hankel happened. How frustrating things would get.
Casey shrugged, "Maybe. I just have this irrational fear that I'm gonna end up like her. And I had a very close call with that, if you remember. I just wanna do the right thing. For her. For my mom."
It was then that Reid had come to the conclusion that he and Casey were sort of one in the same. Sure, they were both entirely different — he was neat, she was messy, he preferred New York while she preferred LA, he was the sun, she was the moon. But he understood the thing with the mom. As much as he loved his mother, Reid didn't want to end up like her either. It was probably one of his biggest fears.
Before Reid could speak, the doors opened and their attention was drawn to JJ. "Hey, guys?" She called. "Keri just called. She may have just found who her stalker is."
Reid stands up first, then helping Casey stand up, like the gentleman he is and they both started making their way up into the PD.
Keri had arrived shortly to the PD and the first thing they did was get a sketch artist do Keri could describe what her stalker looked like. "I knew I'd seen him before-- at my dry cleaners, at a restaurant. I didn't know where else to go." Keri told.
"You did the right thing coming here." Casey assured. "Keri, you're gonna get through this. You're strong." JJ tells. "You've been smart. You're taking every necessary precaution. You're not helpless, Keri. You're prepared and you're protected." Morgan added and Keri sighs, "I needed to hear that."
"Sounds like he's gonna try to talk to her." Detective Berry stated. "It could be a risky situation for him." Reid added.
"Why him?" Keri asks. "He's setting himself up for rejection, and if he feels anger or shame, there's a possibility he could turn violent." Reid explained.
JJ had received the photo from the sketch artist and nodded, "All right, I'm going to get this picture out." Keri's cell phone began to ring and she went to go and answer it. It took a minute or two before she ended the call. "That was Ryan. He's taking off for a couple of days to clear his head. But he wants to talk first. I'm going to meet him at the house." Keri explained and Casey nodded, "I'll walk you to your car."
With that, Casey exited and when she did, Morgan decided to ask Reid: "Casey okay?" Reid nods to the mean. "Yeah, she was upset but she will be, once we get a lead." Morgan nods at Reid. "You guys have been getting pretty chummy lately." He points out.
Reid shrugs, "We're friends. It's what friends do."
━━━━━━
That call led to Keri being in the hands of her stalker. Ryan had been distracted with their dog, Brodie being walked by someone that the stalker had paid to walk down the street. This ruse lured Keri into the stalker's arms and he had taken her.
The stalker was last seen in a brown van. And if anyone could help with looking for certain vans, it was Miss Penelope Garcia. "There aren't any vans in Georgia that have been transferred to Maryland, so I am sending you registrations and IDs for both states. Pictures coming at you."
"Let's start with Jeffery Cramer, Chris Geezy, and Mike Hicks." Reid told. "Okay. Cramer works at a grocery store. Geezy is a heating and air tech, and Hicks is on unemployment. But he's an IT Guy. Last employed at legal grind, tech support for law firms."
"Keri's a lawyer. He might have worked on her computer." Casey suggested. "He's got no criminal record. And his social's listed at a bank there. And the account lists... Mike Hicks, 404 Lark Lane, Silver Spring." Garcia had gotten a hit. "Thanks, baby girl." Morgan tells and hangs up.
"All right, we got a name and an address." Morgan stated. "Would he really take Keri to his place?" Berry questioned. "It's unlikely, but we should still check it out." Morgan told. "All right, I'll send a cruiser."
"Every second we're here, she's alone with him." Ryan spoke. "Well, his obsession with Keri defines him. He wants to make her happy. He wouldn't take her where he wants to go. He'd take her where she wants to go." Emily explained.
"Maybe some place that means something to the both of you?" JJ suggested to Ryan. "I proposed to her in Chesapeake Beach." He told.
Deep down, Casey just hoped Keri remembered what her, Emily and JJ told her to do in a situation such as this one. And that she'd be okay in the end.
And she did. Keri had remembered everything and the team cornered this unsub, holding Keri hostage. Casey had gone with Reid, since she wasn't allowed on the field quite yet since Hotch practically ordered her not to be. Casey and Reid had instead gone to the unsub's abandoned van and looked through it, finding what they needed.
Casey and Reid made their way over when Morgan had taken the stalker into the a police car. Casey had rushed over to Keri to hug her and Reid explained to Emily what they found. "We found this in his van along with about 100 photos of Keri."
Casey had pulled away and allowed Ryan to reunite with his wife. "Keri." He said, hugging her.
"February 21, 2006," Reid stated. "A month later, he sent his first letter." Casey sighed, "He thought it was their anniversary."
JJ looks at the couple and assures to them. "It's over now." Casey looks back at Keri and she mouths, "Thank you." Casey nods with a content smile on her face.
━━━━━━
After everything that happened, Casey had decided to go and see Keri and Ryan. Keri had remembered it was Stephanie's birthday and had given Casey a couple of photos that Keri held onto. One consisted of Casey and her mother after Casey had been born, baby Casey in her arms. One of Keri and Stephanie together as teenagers. One of James and Stephanie. And one that happened to be Casey's favorite.
This one was a candid shot of Casey's mother. She was smiling, maybe sharing a laugh with Keri or her father. And she just looked content. It was Casey's favorite. She could stop staring at it as she sat back at her desk in the BAU.
Everyone decided to go for drinks afterwards but Casey hadn't. She stayed at her desk and her eyes lingered at the photo. She could see where people said she looked like her.
"Is that her?" Casey turns around and sees Reid right behind her, getting ready to go home. "Your mom?" He asks and Casey nods, "Yeah. Uh, Keri gave me a bunch of old photos of her. This one's my favorite so far. A lot of people always said I look like her. I guess I can see it." Casey shrugged.
Putting the photo down, she turns towards Reid, who's holding something behind his back with two hands. He pulls out three books, all tied together with a string of twine all tied together like a present. Casey takes the stack. "What's this?" She furrows her brows in confusion.
"An early birthday present," Reid told. "I always see you reading on the jet. It always seems to calm you down when we're going up. I know you have a fear of heights." Casey smiled, "Thank you, Reid. This means a lot."
Casey then looks at Reid. "My birthday's in two weeks, though. Why now?" She asks. Reid shrugs, "I, uh, figured you could probably use it now. And with it being your mother's birthday, I also figured it could make you feel better." Casey nods in understanding.
Casey turns back in her chair and unravels the twine. He'd gotten her a few of the classics. One even in Italian since he knew that was the only language she could speak.
"Your mom would've been proud of you, you know." Reid tells and Casey looks up at him. "Helping her friend. And not even just that. She would've been proud for all of your accomplishments at your age." Casey nods and smiles at the statement, "I know." She says. "I'd like to think so, too."
There's a long pause and Reid lingers and then decides to ask, "So, you going out tonight with the rest of the team?" Reid asks and Casey stands from her desk, gathering her things. "I can't."
Reid furrows his brows. "Why?" He asks and Casey deadpans him and realizes the question is genuine. She reminds him: "I'm not quite 21 yet, Reid." The man's cheeks turn crimson and he nods, "Ah, right." Casey chuckles to herself.
"I actually wasn't going tonight either. Bars aren't really my thing." Spencer told. Casey thinks to herself for a moment. "Hey, why don't you come over tonight? We can have a Doctor Who marathon."
Reid's eyes light up as he raises his brows and he does that adorable thing he does when he's excited. "You like Doctor Who?" He asks with excitement in his voice.
"I actually have never watched it but if you like it, I'm sure I will." Casey shrugs. "Yeah, we can watch it at my apartment, build a pillow fort, stuff our stomachs with candy and ice cream, we can get takeout if you're hungry."
Reid smiles and Casey had reached the conclusion that one has ever done that for him before. Actually have taken interest in what he likes. "Okay, yeah, cool." He nods. "I can— I can meet you at your place?"
Casey shrugs, "I can just drive you." She offers.
"You sure?" Reid asks. Casey nods, "Yeah, I don't mind. Just let me do a few things real quick. Here." Casey tosses her car keys over to Reid, who nearly drops them but catches them. "I'll meet you at my car."
Casey packs up her belongings for the night and before she heads out to the elevator, she decides to stop by JJ's office. To say the least, JJ looked stressed. "Hey. I noticed you seemed a little off during the case. Are you okay?" Casey asks, leaning in.
JJ nods and plasters on a smile. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just... tired. You going out with the rest of the team tonight?" She asks and Casey shakes her head, "Actually, Reid and I are hanging out, considering that everyone has forgotten that I'm not 21 yet and Reid and I... well, it wouldn't hurt to have company. You should come." She offers, even though she knows it's not JJ's thing.
"Nah, I'll be okay. I'm probably just gonna go home in a few anyways." JJ tells and Casey notices the tiredness in her voice. "Keri's gonna be okay, y'know." Casey assures and JJ nods, "I know. Do you know that?" Casey nods, "I know."
Casey looks around until she decides to go. "Okay. Well, go home. Get some sleep. I know I need to." JJ smiles as Casey decides to head on to her car and start her Doctor Who marathon with Reid.
