Chapter 7 : Shiny Headbands, Powerful Senseis
Suzume and Kakashi walked side by side to the Academy. It was the day of their Genin exam and they were more than pumped up!
"Hey, Goblin?" Suzume asked. Kakashi turned his head.
"Hmm?"
"You better not fail your test," Suzume said with a smirk on her face. "Otherwise I'll have to do something you wouldn't like."
A chuckle was heard. "Pfft, as if there'll ever be a day when you beat me." Kakashi received a smack on his head.
"Ow! Oi, Shōto, don't do that!" He growled. Suzume scoffed.
"Your fault for having such a huge ego." Kakashi's eye twitched, and he let out a sigh, as he pushed the door open.
"Let's just get this over with..." He muttered as he took a seat next to Suzume.
Ikkaku soon entered the room, holding some papers in his hand.
"Now then! Kakashi, Suzume, this is your test. I need you to finish this in an hour at maximum." He said, giving both of them some sheets of paper.
"And... START!"

Suzume tapped her fingers on the table, biting her lip as she watched Ikkaku-sensei's eyes scanned through their papers. Kakashi finally let out a chuckle at her behaviour.
"Nervous, are we?" He whispered to the blonde. Suzume shot him a glare and scoffed. "Never in a million years, Jāku." She said, making the Hatake roll his eyes.
The two then ignored each other as they stared at Ikakku, waiting patiently for him to finish reading.
"Hm." Ikakku grunted. He looked up at the kids and gave them a smile.
"Well both of you passed the written test perfectly! Just as I had expected." He said, putting the sheets of paper on the clipboard he was holding.
Suzume grinned as a smirk appeared on Kakashi's face. Then the two watched as their sensei got up from his seat.
"Well then, let's go to the next part of the exam: Transformation Jutsu. Follow me, please." Ikakku stated and quickly walked out of the room.
Suzume and Kakashi nodded to each other and quickly ran after their sensei.

Suzume let out a relieved sigh as she saw Kakashi walk out of the room, headband in hand.
"About time, Jāku. Took you a long time to finish 3 simple Jutsus."
Kakashi scoffed. "Urusai, Shōto. Talk about yourself," he said, as he grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the building.
"Hurry up. I want that miso soup Kushina-senpai cooked."
Suzume laughed, allowing Kakashi to pull her along.
They soon arrived at the house. Kakashi slammed the door open and Suzume jumped into the room.
"ATTENTION, EVERYONE! THE SILVER GOBLIN AND THE GOLDEN ANGEL HAVE JUST RECEIVED THE STATUS SHINOBI!"
Kakashi's eyes twitched. "... Golden Angel? Seriously? It's Golden Satan, Shōto. And jeez, your voice is so loud, banshee."
"Don't ruin my mood!" Suzume snapped, before she turned her head back to all the adults in the kitchen and smiled.
"See?" She asked, holding up the headband.
Minato chuckled, watching Kakashi do the same to his father.
"That's my Suzu~" Minato sang, ruffling his sister's hair. "Now, let's eat!"

Suzume sighed in content as she patted her stomach. "Aahh... thank you Kami-sama for that awesome food!" She cheered.
Kakashi smirked and nudged Suzume with his elbow, causing the poor girl to yelp and glare at him.
"Oi, Shōto, be careful not to become too fat - you might even be called the scary yellow marshmallow!" He teased.
Suzume scowled. "You're one to talk, Kaka-baka silver miso monster!" She pouted, stomping her foot down.
Kakashi and Suzume decided to finally leave Kushina's house. They took a short stroll around the village after they ate, and were currently heading towards their usual spot - a small hill overlooking the village. Kakashi stared at the girl, his mouth twitching at the ends.
"Out of all things to say, you went with 'Kaka-baka silver miso monster'?" He asked.
Suzume calmly shrugged. "It sounds funny. Miso Monster. Or maybe I'll call you Bakashi."
Kakashi laughed. He put his hands in his pockets and looked up.
"Now that we don't have to attend those boring classes anymore, what will happen? I mean, we're going to train, that's for sure. But, you know... what if we were sent to a dangerous mission and..." The Hatake trailed off.
"You sound nervous." Suzume noted, smiling at him. "Don't worry. We'll be strong, I promise. Besides, we have each other, right?"
"Yeah." Kakashi muttered, his lips curling into a small smile. "That way I will always have to protect you, Shōto." "I don't need you protecting me! And you're ruining the mood!!" Suzume whined, causing the Hatake to let out an amused scoff.
"That was the plan. Turns out that I succeeded. Congratulations to Kakashi Hatake!"
Suzume's eye twitched as she hit her silver-haired friend on the head.
"Itai! Shōto!!"

"Ne, Jaku...I think it's time for us to go back home, hm?" Asked the blonde girl. She received a sigh in return.
"It's already this late," Kakashi said. "I wonder how we didn't notice until now."
The sun was setting beyond the engraved Hokage cliff, and it painted the sky a beautiful red, orange and yellow, then several shades of blue.
Suzume smiled. "Yeah well, knowing you-..." A hand covered her mouth. "Shhh. Shut up banshee." Kakashi muttered, causing the young girl to laugh.
"Well c'mon then. Or else we'll both get in trouble."
Kakashi and Suzume stood up from their spot and headed towards Kushina's house, where their families were probably waiting.
Suzume entered the house, Kakashi following quietly behind her. "Hey Nii-san, Kushina-nee, I'm home!" She cried out. "Anything interesting come up?"
Suzume padded over to the living room where she heard two voices say 'Yes (dattebane) !' to her. When they arrived at the living room, the blonde and silverette looked at each other then to Minato and Kushina. Then to Sakumo, who turned out to have stayed inside.
"What's up?" Suzume asked. Minato smiled at her.
"Sakumo-san and I were talking and... how would you like to be Sakumo's student?"
Suzume froze. "Wh-what?"
Kushina laughed. "He said, how would you like to be Sakumo-san's student, dattebane!!" She cheered as Minato nodded.
Suzume came to and grabbed her brother's hands. "Really? You mean it? I can learn under the famous White Fang, Jakū's father, Sakumo Hatake?!"
Kakashi rolled his eyes after hearing 'Jakū'.
Minato pulled his hands away and nodded again, as he tried to hold back his amused smile. "So, you want to-..."
"Of course I do, Nii-san!" Suzume cut him off with a happy cheer.
"... But what about Goblin?" Suzume wondered out loud, her eyebrows creasing in concern as she turned her gaze to Kakashi. The younger Hatake only crossed his arms calmly, raising an eyebrow at her question.
"What about him? Who's his-" Kushina coughed, interrupting the girl. The red head pointed to a certain smiling blonde male.
"Kashi-kun will be training under this guy, dattebane."
"E-Eh..." Kakashi managed to stutter out. He stared wide eyed at his seniors.
"T-The Yellow Flash? Y-You can't be serious! I mean, I just-... But that's so-... I can't-... And I really want to-...but I-."
Suzume's laugh made him fall silent.
"Calm down, Hatake! We're even now! Like I said, you don't need to worry!" Giggled Suzume.
Kakashi lightly punched the girl's shoulder with a small glare. "Shut it, Shōto." He muttered, before he turned to the 3 adults, who were smiling at them.
"We can start tomorrow...right?" He asked hopefully, receiving three nods in reply.
The silverette grinned behind his mask, even wider than the one behind Suzume's scarf.
