Chapter 5 : Pranksters And Geniuses

Third Person's P.O.V.

"Where's my ramen, dattebane?" Kushina wondered, glaring at the cupboard.

"Eh? What do you mean, Kushina-nee?" Suzume asked, nervousness building up in her.

"Don't play dumb, Suzu. I have more ramen than this."

"We used some of them to make lunch, Kushina-san." Kakashi explained.

"...Don't lie. I SMELL RAMEN SOUP ON YOUR CLOTHES! HOW DARE YOU WASTE MY RAMEN LIKE THAT, DATTEBANE?!"

Suzume's eyes widened. "Run!" She whispered to Kakashi, as they both dashed out of the house.

"GET BACK HERE, DATTEBANE!"

Konoha's peace was gone the moment when a certain red head stomped out of her house, holding a large frying pan, with an orange apron over her yellow dress.

Everyone recognized her immediately. The Red Hot Habanero.

A lot of the villagers sweat dropped when they heard a small blonde girl scream as she was picked up by the red head from behind. Kakashi stopped, turning around to look at the two with a conflicted look. Suzume struggled in Kushina's arms then dramatically put her arm out, as if trying to push Kakashi away.

"Run! Baka Jāku goblin!" she screamed. Kakashi's eyes widened as he immediately ran away from the red head and blonde. Kushina's head snapped to Kakashi's direction.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING, DATTEBANE?!" She screamed out as she saw the Hatake run away.

"Let me go, Kushina-nee!"

"NO! YOU WASTED MY RAMEN, YOU WILL PAY!" Suzume froze in the older girl's grip and gulped. She didn't say 'dattebane'...

"K-Kushina-nee...it, er, i-it was just an accident, really!" Suzume cried out. She felt like she was going to pee her pants soon!

Damn it, goblin, she thought. I'm gonna die today...at least you got away...

The blonde closed her eyes and prepared for the incoming attack as she felt Kushina put her on the ground.

But her eyes suddenly opened and her mouth grew slack as surprise filled her system. She didn't get hit. Instead, Kushina's red, floating, snake-like hair became normal again and Suzume looked up as the woman patted her head.

"Wh-what?" Suzume stuttered. The Habanero gave the girl a kind smile.

"Don't worry about the Ramen Suzu. I know how you can repay for it without getting hurt." The blonde's eyes twinkled as she nodded vigorously. Kushina's once kind smile morphed into a cruel smirk.

"I'll let this go if you promise to pay for my ramen orders for a week." Kushina stated, smirk growing as she saw the child's disbelieving eyes.

Suzume gulped. Pay for Kushina's ramen orders.... for a week...?

Kushina eats at least 10 bowls at once. She ate 3 times in a day. That means 30 bowls each day. The deal is for a week, which is 7 days. And that means it's 210 bowls, AT LEAST.

Oh, my wallet has officially died.

Suzume bit her lip. "Kushina-nee, can't you just make it to like, 3 days?"

"No! A week, dattebane!" Shouted the red head, crossing her arms over her chest.

"What about Kakashi?!" As the words left the Namikaze's lips, she immediately clasped her hand on her mouth.

Kushina grinned evilly. "Ah, right, that Hatake!" She exclaimed, as she grabbed Suzume's arm and dragged her around Konoha, looking for a certain Hatake.

Suzume's eyes accidentally met Kakashi's, who was crouching on the rooftop watching silently.

'Help!' She mouthed. The Hatake cringed, and slowly shook his head.

Suzume's eye twitched, and she poked Kushina's shoulder.

"There he is, Kushina-nee!" She yelled, pointing at Kakashi. The Hatake's eyes widened, and he leaped away.

Followed by Kushina, who had dropped Suzume to chase the boy.

A few hours later, Suzume and Kakashi were resting on top of a hill, watching the clouds pass by, an awkward silence between them. Suzume was let off from Kushina's wrath, but unfortunately, Kakashi wasn't. He currently had bandages on him as well as a band aid on his forehead. The two were resting on top of a hill, left feeling exhausted after running away from the Uzumaki together.

Suzume took a glance at the silver haired boy. She sighed, surprisingly feeling guilty that he had gotten hurt.

"Oi, Jāku. I -"

"Don't say sorry. I deserved it." Interrupted Kakashi, his face emotionless.

Suzume's blue eyes widened at the Hatake's words. She rolled onto her stomach and reached her arm out to pull his shirt, a scowl on her face.

"What in the name of Kami do you mean, goblin? You got hurt because I tol-"

"And I was a coward, ran away, and chose to not help y-"

"WILL YOU STOP INTERRUPTING ME, BAKA?!" Suzume shouted, a tick mark on her forehead.

Now it was Kakashi who widened his eyes. He turned his head to stare at the blonde and took in her fuming figure. She looked annoyed as hell, but guilt swam in her blue orbs. Kakashi grabbed her arm and pulled it off of his shirt. He took note of how her left eyebrow twitched when she furrowed them. Kakashi looked into the distance again.

Suzume stared dumbfounded at the Hatake. She didn't know if she still felt guilty or annoyed at him...just confused.

"Oi, goblin, are you alright?" She asked to which Kakashi replied with a nod. She watched as Kakashi slowly got up and offered his hand for her to grab.

"I'm fine. Now then, I think we've spent enough time here, eh Banshee?" Suzume scoffed, taking the boy's hand, but making sure to let it go once she got up.

"Baka. You're such a terrible liar." She said. The two walked back to the village, oblivious to the fact that they were being watched by people in the Hokage Tower.

"Your plan worked as always, Sakumo. Amazing." Minato mused out, leaning on the Hokage desk, his gaze locked on Sandaime's crystal ball.

Sakumo chuckled. "They're just kids, Minato. They couldn't hate each other."

Hiruzen nodded. "You two better hope they don't find out. Suzume has her mother's temper."

Minato scratched the back of his neck. "I'm sure I won't be killed..."

"But you will be dying...and in a lot of pain." Sakumo stated bluntly causing the Hokage and Minato to sweat drop.

Hiruzen sighed. "You still have one week. Besides, when you come back, I have some news for both of you."

"About them?" Minato asked. Hiruzen nodded.

"Now, get back to work, Hatake, Namikaze!" Sarutobi exclaimed, ushering the two jounins to leave.

Sakumo and Minato grinned, and poofed away.

Kakashi sighed heavily. "Don't tell me that we will have to eat ramen everyday for a week."

"... Not everyday, but every time we eat." Suzume corrected, "And we will be the ones paying them."

"How can your brother date that demon?"

Suzume shrugged, as she laid on her futon, her back facing Kakashi.

"Who knows. But as long as I don't have redheads who called me 'auntie', I'm fine."

Kushina, who was standing in front of the door, blushed furiously, even redder than her hair.

It's been four days since Sakumo and Minato went on their mission, and surprisingly enough, nothing too out of the blue has occurred in Konohagakure. There have been times when you would hear the odd scream or see three figures running around with red, silver, and blonde hair, but it soon calmed down a bit.

Suzume and Kakashi, despite their differences, have enjoyed spending time with the other... but won't admit this to anyone. And right now, they have a little surprise waiting for them back home.

"Oi, shorty!" Called a bored looking boy.

"What, Jāku?" Mumbled the girl beside him. She gave him a small glare, wondering what the boy might want.

Kakashi sighed, surprising the blonde. "Shouldn't my dad and your brother be back already? I mean, it's been a while now, hasn't it?"

This made the girl stop and think. It has been a while...

Her blue orbs stared into Kakashi's dark ones. "Do you want to go check if they've come back yet?"

Kakashi stood up, nodding. Suzume followed suit and together they walked to where the gate guards were. They greeted the two Chunin before getting down to business.

Suzume looked up at the adults. "Er, excuse me, but has Sakumo Hatake and Minato Namikaze returned yet from their mission?"

The two chunins looked at each other.

"I saw them enter the village last week," the first one said, "and they haven't exited the gates ever since."

"But the Hokage said that they already left." The other one added.

Suzume and Kakashi narrowed their eyes. Then realization hit the duo genius and their eyes widened.

"... They planned this." Suzume muttered, clenching her fists, her left eye twitching as she turned towards Kakashi.

"Believe me when I said that Kushina-nee is the queen of prankster."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow at the statement, while Suzume smirked.

"And we will be her apprentice."
