Chapter 1 : Namikaze vs Hatake
"And... Done! There you go, dattebane!" Kushina exclaimed happily, as she finished tying my blonde hair into a pair of low pigtails.
I sighed. Seriously, she's too hyper sometimes. "Thanks Kushina-nee. But... what if no one likes me...?"
Kushina simply smiled at me. She crouched down, her eyes on the same level as mine. She ruffled my hair and said, "Don't worry, dattebane! I'm sure you'll do just fine!"
"Suzume, you ready yet?" I heard my brother ask from outside.
Kushina's smile grew. "Go on. Your brother's waiting. Have a good day, dattebane!"
I returned her smile. Quickly I ran out of the room to meet with my big brother.
"I'm off, Kushina! See you later!" He yelled, as he walked away from the room.
"Okay! Remember to bring me some ramen for lunch, Minato, dattebane!"
"Will do! Bye!"
After we exited the house, I looked up. "Nii-san, do you think I will be a great kunoichi?"
"Of course you will, Suzu. I know you will be a great shinobi, even better than me and Kushina. However, I think you should start running now. They're gonna close that door soon!" Minato suddenly said, as he pointed at the Academy's almost-closed front door.
"Eh?! We're not late, are we?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.
"Well, I'm not late. You are late. Blame it on Kushina, not me."
My eyes widened. I glared at my brother, and hit his arm.
"Nii-san! I'll get my revenge, that's a promise!" I yelled in frustration, as I ran towards the building.

The newly entered Academy students were chatting wildly, finding their new friends and foes.
And here I am, standing outside the noisy classroom. Alone, sweaty, and late.
Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door, preparing to be scolded by the teacher.
Not long after, the door was opened. In front of me, was a man wearing that cool shiny headband, smiling at me.
"Hello. You're an academy student?"
I nodded, adjusting the scarf around my neck.
"A-Ano... G-Gomen... I'm late..." I muttered, avoiding his eyes.
He let out a chuckle, ruffling my hair as he motioned me to enter the room. "It's fine. It's your first day, after all. By the way, my name is Ikkaku Umino. I'm your sensei."
I smiled. He's nice.
"Why don't you introduce yourself?" He suddenly asked. Then I realized that the whole class had fallen silent, watching me.
I bowed. "Ohayō, my name is Suzume Namikaze. Nice to meet you all. I hope we can be friends." I said. I might be calm on the outside, but in my brain there's a large raging fire dragon, itching to burn a certain blonde man. How dare he make me arrive late on my first day of school?!
Some whispers were heard, saying 'how cute' and 'so beautiful' about me.
I smiled sheepishly, as Ikkaku-sensei told me to take a seat.
And I only found one empty chair, at the far back corner of the class, next to a boy with silver hair.
After I sat down, I turned to the boy. "Hi! I'm Suzume, what's your name?" I greeted him.
The boy turned at me, and replied, "Kakashi Hatake."
"Hatake? Are you somehow.... related to the White Fang?"
He nodded. "He's my father."
"Wow. That's cool. He's a great shinobi." I said, grinning at him. I know Sakumo. He's friends with my brother. Sometimes he visits my house.
But Kakashi ignored me. And I can feel burning glares on my back.
"Uh... why are they glaring at me?" I asked slowly, as I realized that most of the girls in the class were glaring at me. I didn't do anything, right?
Kakashi shrugged. "Maybe it's because you're too noisy." He calmly said.
My eyes widened. Me, noisy? I gulped, as I whispered, "Gomen'nasai", before I buried my face in my arms on the table.
Did I do something wrong?

I let out a sigh. It was lunch time already. I wish that Hatake would leave the room, but that didn't happen.
The case is, my annoying brother forgot to bring me lunch, and so I would suffer from hunger for the rest of the day. If I exited the room, I will only see the other kids wolfing down their foods, and that will just hurt my stomach more.
And when I stayed in the classroom, Kakashi didn't move from his seat.
What luck.
I inwardly groaned. My chin was resting on my arms, leaning on the table, while I stared at the board at the front of the class. In my mind, I was replaying the scene from yesterday, when Kushina beat up Minato with a frying pan. Hehe... maybe I should try that.
"Hello!" Someone suddenly greeted, tapping my shoulder, "You're Suzume, right?"
I looked up to see a boy, standing in front of me. He had dark brown hair, onyx eyes, and goggles on. He was wearing a dark blue jacket, and he was grinning at me.
Well, he's kinda cute.
"I'm Obito Uchiha!" He told me, offering his hand. I raised an eyebrow, as I slowly grab it, and shook it.
"Hope we can be friends!" The Uchiha exclaimed, causing me to smile. I nodded at him. He seemed like a fun person to be friends with.
"How about we eat lunch together? I see you didn't bring any, so why don't you eat mine? I brought too many onigiris." He offered.
I laughed softly. "Thanks Obito." I said, as I stood up.
Well, not thank you for the free lunch, but thank you for dragging me away from Kakashi.
Thank Kami. You're my hero!

I walked out of the classroom, smiling softly. Obito is really really nice. He talks a lot, like Kushina. I was the one who did most of the listening, like how Minato-
Oh, right! Nii-san still needs my revenge!
My eyes scanned through outside the Academy. There he is!
He's currently talking to Sakumo-san. My chance!
As I approached them, I heard some of their conversation.
"...- you waiting for your son?" Minato asked.
His son? Wait. Sakumo's son is Kakashi...right?
I'm screwed.
Sakumo nodded, the smile never leaving his face. "What about you?"
I stopped behind Minato, preparing my attack.
"I'm waiting for my-.. Aakhh!!" Minato cried out in pain as I hit his back. Hard.
"Nii-san!" I yelled, crossing my arms, pouting.
"Eh... W-What is it, dear imouto...?" Minato slowly asked, as he turned, his eyes met with mine.
"Don't call me that. You know what I'm talking about." I growled.
Sakumo raised an eyebrow at Minato. He thought Minato was a perfect shinobi. Ah, he's so wrong. Minato may be a great ninja, but he's a clumsy brother!
"Hi Dad." Someone greeted Sakumo. It was Kakashi.
"There you are! How's your day?" Sakumo asked his son, the jerk.
"Good." Kakashi simply replied. His gaze then landed on me.
"She's one of your classmates, isn't she?" Sakumo asked.
Kakashi nodded. "She's.... Well, Dad, she's the most annoying, noisy, idiot in my class. She came late, and she immediately sat next to me, talking like she already knew me for years. She's stupid, reckless, and I'm sure she's not worth to be a shinobi." Kakashi calmly said, his dark eyes locked on my blue ones, as if he was mocking me.
Sakumo and Minato's eyes went wide, and they cringed.
I growled, clenching my fists. "Is that what you think about me, Kakashi? Well, you are the most arrogant, cocky, selfish person I've ever met. You're too rude to even accept a hello from a stranger. You know what? You are not that good. And I'll prove it." I stated, glaring at my classmate.
He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "I would like to see you try, shortie."
My glare hardened. How dare he?! "I'll show you I'm better than you!"
Kakashi starts laughing. "You? You, of all people?! Don't make me laugh! Seriously, you little usuratonkachi, I bet you don't even know what chakra is."
My body started shaking in anger. Kami, he's just.... He embarrassed me in front of Sakumo-san! And in front of my big brother!
"Just... Just watch me, teme!" I yelled, before I turned, and ran away.
No... Nii-san mustn't see me cry...
I heard Kakashi chuckle, as he put his hands in his pockets, and walked away while Sakumo-san started talking with Nii-san again.
I ran faster, ignoring the rain that started to pour down.
Damn you, Hatake. I'll show you... I'll show you that I'm better than you! I don't care if you're a boy, if you're a genius...
I WON'T LOSE!
