🐾🧟♂️🧟♀️4. An Angry Daryl and No Merle.🧟♀️🧟♂️🐾
I didn't give Daryl the chance to see me at all, since I shifted and ran to the Dixon tent, hiding under Merle's cot. It wasn't the best place to hide from him, but I didn't want the others to ask questions. It took maybe an hour before Daryl entered the tent. He took one look around it and walked back out, yelling and hollering. He was livid.
"Who tha hell been sleepin in ma tent?!" He yelled, face red with anger.
"My sister, hope you don't mind. She knew Merle before this mess, and probably wanted to sleep in his tent." I heard Rick say and Daryl grunts.
"Probably some hook up from before." Daryl growls. "Where she at?"
"Uh, I don't know..." Rick says in confusion. "Carl, where is your Aunt Rosie at?"
"She ran off after you guys chopped the walker's head off." Jacqui says.
"Where could she have ran off to? She can't go far, not with her condition."
"Condition?" Daryl asks, acting uninterested, but I knew he recognized my name, and he could be getting suspicious.
"Shane! Where'd Rosie go?!" Rick calls up to Shane, who's obviously on watch. It takes a moment before I hear Shane respond.
"I don't see her anywhere. Sure she ain't napping in the tent?"
"I don't see nobody in ma tent." Daryl growled out to the others.
"Uh, don't know if you've met her or not, bud, but she can be... hard to find sometimes." Rick supplies nervously. "Rosie? Where ya at?" I sigh before walking out from under the cot and shifting to human and walking out of the tent. "There you are. Had me worried for a minute."
"Sorry, Rick." I say softly, keeping my head down as I go and wrap myself under his arm, feeling nervous under Daryl's confused stare.
"Daryl, this is my little sister, Rosie. Rosie, do you know Daryl? I'm just asking since you knew Merle." Rick chuckles. I look at Daryl and nod my head yes before looking back at the ground. "Wanna go to Carl?"
"No. I'm going with you and the others." I tell Rick seriously.
"Yeah, Hell no." Rick scoffs. He puts his hands on either side of my stomach as he turns to face me. "You need to stay here, protect them."
"I can protect them wherever I go, Rick. I'm going whether its by your side, or on my own. Merle is my friend. If I had the choice, I would've stayed with him." I growl out as Rick lets me go. Daryl steps forward.
"Why didn't you?" Daryl asks, and I can see his teary eyes.
"I passed out not long before we were supposed to leave. I asked Jacqui and Andrea to protect me just in case I passed out. I thought Rick or someone would un-cuff Merle after he had time to cool off. Forgot how stubborn your brother was." I chuckle. "He's still a good man."
"How so?" T-Dog scoffs as he overhears my words.
"He's loyal to his family, for the most part. The Dixon family has gone through hell and back, no one knows that better than me." I smile sadly.
Before long we were in the box truck again, although I don't remember being in there the first time. I sat in the passenger seat, buckled in under Rick's orders. Glenn was driving and Rick was crouched behind the seats, but in the middle, holding onto the seats so he could see. T-Dog and Daryl were both in the back, both having a tense conversation before we stopped outside the city. Glenn turned the car off and turned to us.
"We walk from here." Then we got out and I shifted into Caracal form just in case I had to run. I probably shouldn't shift a lot, but I can't be running in my human state. Too many risks for the baby.
"Merle first, or the guns?" Rick asked, picking me up and helping me over the railing as we went through a fence. Daryl turns to him quickly.
"Merle!" Daryl hissed out as I stiffen in Rick's arms. "We ain't even having this conversation!" Rick sets me down gently as I look at Daryl.
"We are." Rick emphasizes. "You know the geography, its your call."
"Merle's closest, the guns would mean doubling back." Glenn says.
"And he's probably dehydrated and going crazy by now." I comment, having shifted to human to put my 2 cents in on the conversation.
"Merle First." Glenn says as we start jogging a bit. I immediately shift back and run between Rick and Glenn.
When we got to the department store I immediately ran off ahead and managed to get past a lot of walkers before sitting in front of the padlocked door, no geek in sight. When Rick and the others took too long, I went ahead and squeezed through the opening of the door. I went to where Merle had been handcuffed to find only his hand. I followed the blood trail, not caring to wait, knowing every second was crucial for him. I made it into a room to find a hunting knife, burnt skin, and a broken window.
"Rosie?" I heard Rick whisper yell as he and the group walked the halls.
"Oh God, in here." I say, in human form before I grab a trash can and puke. Daryl comes into the room first and holds up the knife with dead skin and I throw up even more, causing Glenn to rush over and hold my hair back and rub my back soothingly. "I think he's still alive. For now."
After a few minutes of debating, me Daryl and Glenn went to the alley where Glenn met me and Rick. Glenn and I would be running, me in my cat form, and grab the bag of guns and Rick's hat, and then make our way back to Daryl, unless we're cut off, then we'd head two blocks away to Rick and T-Dog. Everything seemed to go somewhat smoothly until me and Glenn ran into the alley and were kidnapped, leaving the bag of guns with Daryl. Daryl had shot the man who had roughly grabbed me, in the ass, but it was too late, I had already been thrown in the car and knocked out. All I could think about, was if Daryl and the others were okay, and if Glenn and my baby would get hurt.
