"Tonio, we need to talk." Drew said as he walked into their shared apartment with a tired expression on his face. The brunette kicked off his shoes and dropped his bag at the door.

The Latino turned his head, "Talk to me." Anthony stated, then paused, "Don't tell me it's about getting a dog! Tripod can't handle that." Drew shook his head in response. The fact that that line didn't earn at least a small chuckle was a bit unsettling, "What is it?" Anthony shuffled uncomfortably.

"I have to leave, Nat and I." Drew told Anthony, sitting down next to his fiance, "There's something going on in a different state and it's crucial that she and I be there by tomorrow."

"Wh-What's going on?" Anthony's back straightened

"There's this big storm coming there. .  And not like a weather storm, like a swarm of villains. A bunch of heroes are uniting to fend it off." Drew explained.

"Can I come with you?" Anthony asked, eyes a bit wide and alarm spread across his face.

Drew looked down at the Turbulence mask in his lap and ran his fingers across it, "I'm sorry. . . You can't. It's dangerous and I don't want you getting hurt. . . And no matter how much you try to redeem yourself with fighting, those heroes are still going to look at you like you're a villain." He paused

"But I'm not! I'm not a villain anymore, I've changed!"

"I know that, but the others don't."

"I can redeem myself in front of them there, on the field!" Anthony leaned forward subconsciously, "I swear. I'm better than that now!"

Drew sighed, "I know. . . And I don't want you to go with me." Drew said, "It's too much of a risk for you to get hurt. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. You'd say the same thing if you were in my shoes."

"But--"

"Anthony." Drew made eye contact with his fiance, lips pursed, "I'm sorry."

"Uh. . ." Anthony licked his lips nervously, "Okay. So you have to leave tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'm leaving tomorrow around noon with Nat." Drew's eyes wandered after that statement came out of his mouth. He sucked in a breath and rolled his shoulders back, "But since this is my last night here for a few days, why don't we make it special?" He smiled softly in attempts to lighten the mood.

"What do you have in mind?" The Latino shifted a bit closer to Drew.

"Let me lead the way." Drew chuckled softly, then the night when on.

It was the next morning. Drew and Anthony were over at Abhaya and Natalia's complex. They had had breakfast there and were conversing before Drew and Natalia had to leave. Though they had had a few laughs, there was a somber undertone the whole time. Abhaya wasn't able to lead the mission or help over an earpiece and Anthony wasn't able to go with them. Neither of their significant others were able to come with or assist and it was a little agonizing.

"We should get this show on the road." Drew told Natalia, looking over at the lean Korean.

Natalia brushed a bit of black hair out of her face, "You're right." She turned to her girlfriend with pursed lips, "Let's roll."

She and Drew got up out of their seats and made their way to their significant other. Natalia hugged Abhaya tightly while Drew and Anthony had a bit of an intimate conversation.

"Don't get yourself into extra trouble, okay?" Anthony rubbed his hand up and down Drew's arm.

The brunette nodded, "I won't. I'll keep myself out of it as much as I can."

"Good. Promise me." Anthony put his pinkie out

Drew smiled softly and wrapped his pinkie around his fiancés, "Promise."

The two males made eye contact and Drew gave Anthony an affirmative headnod to seal the promise further.

Drew said his goodbyes to Abhaya, and Natalia to Anthony before the two heroes ended up at the front door.

Natalia let out a long breath and rolled her shoulders back, "Wish us luck." She said with a small smile creeping into her face.

"Only the best of it." Anthony responded, giving her a grin-like smile.

The heroes gave their significant others a final hug before making their way out. And with that, they were on their way to defeating a great evil that would challenge every fiber of their being while their significant others sat back and waited impatiently for their return.
