"Anaya!" I exclaimed, grabbing my phone off of the counter, "What?" My sister questioned from her room, "Don't let anyone in. I'll be back." I said. After that, I was on my way out the door.
She didn't get a chance to respond, me already outside. I walked down the driveway of our one story house, a usual spring in my step.
I was just walking down the street, minding my own business until I heard something spin around and fall down deep in an alleyway. You know how people tell you 'Don't go down dark and scary alleyways!' or 'Never go down a dark place alone!' Just my parents? Probably.
Moving on, I didn't listen and decided to see what was going on down in that alleyway anyway, despite the words of warning running through my head.
This caused me to turn my head skeptically, an eyebrow cocked, "Hello?" I called out, raising my voice slightly. My words bounced off the walls of the buildings, causing an echo.
Another thing fell. Once again, a loud noise erupted. "Hello?" I repeated, an echo still being made.
"Go away!" A male voice shouted, "I, uhh," I started, "I kind of can't do that now." My interest was peaking, making it hard for me to simply walk away.
"Just go!" The voice said again, causing chills to shoot down my spine. Saliva trailed down my throat as I gulped.
I step further into the alleyway, "Do-Don't come any closer!" He stuttered. I ignored his calls, continuing to walk inside.
"N-No! Stop!" His voice cracked. From just hearing him, I could tell that he was around the same age as me.
"Stop or else!" He squeaked, "Or else what?" I questioned, still continuing to walk along, "O-Or else I'll. . . I-I'll. . ." The voice paused, "Well, I don't know what I'm going to do, but it won't be good and you're really not going to like it!" He spoke quickly.
He still attempted to scare me off, but I obviously didn't listen and back away. This resulted in me stumbling upon cemetery walls.
My brown eyes were met with crystal blue ones, causing the pit digging rapidly in my stomach to only grow.
"Leave!" He wailed, his voice almost (almost) cracking. "Aaannndd why should I do that?" I asked, my lips pursing, them peaking into a small toothless smile (A/N: you know what i mean? like a smile without showing teeth? yea that).
"Because I said so!" The blue eyed teen replied. My lips unpursed--
"'Unpursed' isn't a word." Parker interrupts. I look over at him, "Shut up, I'm telling a story." Parker rolls his eyes. I clear my throat, "Like I was saying before I was rudely," My eyes trail over to Parker for a moment, "Interrupted. . ."
*magical flashback mist*
"Just because you said so doesn't mean I'm going to leave." I said, stuffing my hands deep in my pockets.
The boy grunted with frustration, his arms crossing. His limbs unraveled, "Fine!" He started with a stiff body--
"You're making me out to be this jacka--" I cut Parker off, "I'm only telling the truth!" I say. Anaya's kiddo giggles at us, "And no swearing in front of the child!" I add. "I didn't swear!" Parker replies, "You were about to!" I shoot back. Parker rolls his eyes again, grumbling something under his breath before looking away from me.
*more magical flashback mist*
"So," I started, "What's your name?" I asked, making an attempt to start conversation. If small talk was the best conversation I was going to get, then that's what I was going to start. "Why does it matter to you?" The brunette questioned.
"I don't know." I replied, "Just curious." A breath left the boy's mouth, him muttering an answer, "What was that?" I asked, not being able to make out any words.
"I said Parker." The male said, speaking up a bit. A smile that was already on my face decided to widen, "I'm Montgomery but you can call me Monty or Mont or something. No! Don't call me 'something'."
"Wasn't planning on it. . ." Parker mumbled. "Good." I replied, "Because that'd just be awkward." I finished, a small chuckle dangling onto the end of my sentence.
"So, what are you doing around a cemetery?" I questioned, my curiosity getting the best of me. Parker gave me a skeptic look, that soon fading.
"Does it matter? I have my reasons." Parker grumbled. "That's not an answer!" I squeaked. "Well, it is but it's not really the answer I was looking for." I muttered.
"And yes!" I added, "It does matter." The brunette seemed extremely reluctant at first, not answering for a quick moment.
"I'm just waiting for someone." Parker said, lying through his teeth.
"Of course, I didn't know that at the time. I thought he was telling the truth." I break off from my story telling. "Still to this day, I don't know why he felt the need to lie." I look over at him.
"You know why. I told yo--" I cut Parker off, "Hush!" Parker rolls his eyes at me for the third time. My gaze switches from Parker over to Anaya's kiddo, "And that's how we met!" I exclaim with a smile.
"Wow!" Vannessa gushes with dazzling eyes, "Do you think I'll meet someone in a semematurry [cemetery]?" She asks.
Parker and I make eye contact for a quick second, "That's for you to find out." I reply, looking over at her.
I feel an arm slither across my shoulders and the back of my neck. I get pulled closer to Parker, my smile widening.
