four

Patrick and Pete.. are actually happy. Joe and Andy moved in Patrick's Boston house with them, and all four of them attend the hockey games every night.

But whatever, it's not like he and Pete are actually dating. They fuck, but that's about it. Pete's not really ready for another emotional relationship, and Patrick doesn't want to stop what they have.

Pete's a good fuck -- whiny, too, damn -- he'll admit that, but that's not why he really likes their relationship. It's like they're friends and still there for each other, but Patrick also fucks him.

They both win, kind of. Patrick wants more, but he isn't going to admit that.

And now Andy's pushing him against a wall? What?

"Joe's jealous," He says immediately. Patrick's eyebrows furrow. Why would Joe be jealous of Patrick? "He might've found out about what we did when he and I were seperated," Patrick's eyes widen at Andy's words.

"What the fuck?" Patrick asks, his mouth dropping open.

"He's now convinced that you love me and are trying to steal me. That's why you and pretty boy aren't together. Which reminds me, why aren't you and Wentz dating?" Andy tells him.

"Don't. Just, don't, alright? I want a relationship, and he.. doesn't," Patrick says. "That's it. But if you want me to talk to Joe, I will,"

"That'd be nice of you," Andy says. Patrick rolls his eyes and pushes Andy away from him. Andy grabs his wrist and pulls him back, pushing Patrick against the refrigerator. "Nothing happened between us, okay?"

"Alright," Patrick says. When he leaves this time, Andy doesn't grab his arm.

Pete sees it all.

"You and Hurley, huh?" Pete asks Patrick the next day as Patrick's reading a magazine. Patrick almost chokes on air.

"What?" He croaks once he's calmed down.

"You and Andy. I saw him kiss you," Pete says. He shrugs afterwards. "I'm happy for you. Maybe you should tell his husband, though,"

Patrick looks at Pete like he's grown twelve arms and two heads. Patrick shakes his head.

"There is no 'me and Andy'. He didn't kiss me," Patrick says, putting air quotes around the me and Andy part.

"Don't lie to me, man. I'm happy for you. Wish you would've told me before I developed feelings for you again, though," Pete says nonchalantly.

"Andy, come here," Patrick yells. He grabs his crutches so he can lean on them. Andy comes bounding down the stairs, Joe in tow.

"What, 'Rick?" Andy asks. Joe scoffs at the nickname.

"Please tell Pete you didn't kiss me yesterday," Patrick says. Joe just shakes his head and sits down beside Pete on the couch.

"I didn't kiss him," Andy says. "I swear on everything. Mixon's grave, even," Andy says, sighing. Joe's facial features soften for the slightest second.

Matthew Mixon, Andy's ex boyfriend. He was killed in a car crash when Patrick and Andy were in high school. The really bad part, though, was that Andy was driving the fucking car.

"I'm not gonna lie," Patrick starts, "I loved Andy. I had a huge crush on him in high school," Patrick says. Joe just frowns.

"You aren't helping," Andy hisses, shooting Joe a pained look. Pete stays silent.

"But, I'm in love with Pete," Patrick says, " and that was a long time ago. Yeah, Andy and I fucked around once or twice when you guys were seperated, but we never went all the way. He still loved you with everything in him,"

"Joe, I'm so sorry," Andy gets down on his knees in front of his husband. He cries in his hands. "Please don't leave me. You are the best thing that's ever happened to me. And if you want me to prove that, then we'll move out right now. You're the love of my life. I can't lose you,"

Joe sighs and then pulls Andy into an embrace. Patrick smiles at the two of them before finally returning his gaze to Pete, who's staring at him.

Pete stands up and hugs Patrick. "If I say it back now, you know I'm just saying it because you did," Pete whispers into his ear.

Patrick's heart sinks.

--

So Patrick and Pete weren't happy.

Patrick isn't his usual self. Doesn't want to leave the house at all. Doesn't talk to anyone. He's depressed, basically.

However, Andy and Joe are better than they've ever been. Joe trusts Andy more than he ever has, and Andy's love for him is huge.

Pete, though, can't grasp onto what he's done wrong. He thought Patrick would be happy when he said that he didn't want to say it back because he wasn't sure if it was even true. He didn't want to get his hopes up for them to fall back down to where they were five years ago if Pete left him.

Pete's just confused. More than anything, he feels like an idiot. Which is what Joe calls him daily.

"You could've said it nicer," Joe had said not twenty minutes ago. Pete just sighed.

Pete doesn't know, and that's the truth. He can't put it in a nicer way. He's dumbed it down enough.

Patrick's not an idiot. Pete figured he would understand where he was coming from, at least. Patrick's kind of taking it overboard.

So Pete goes to find Andy. You know, who is definitely the right person to talk to in this situation.

"How do you know you're in love?" He asks out of nowhere. Andy laughs.

"The eyes, pretty boy. It's all in the eyes. If you look into Patrick's eyes and see yourself getting married, starting a family, and growing old together, then there's your answer," Andy says and then sends him away.

So, long story short, Pete's gotta look into Patrick's eyes before Patrick just gives up on him.

okay so this story's ending extremely soon and I'm sad

like literally this was my life for however long I've been writing it

all I imagine is more scenarios to keep this going

but I can't

because that would be wrong and make the book really bad

so I've decided how to end this but I'm not sure how everyone's going to feel about it

happy update xx
