"You have to break up with Bob," Andy tells him. "There's pictures of Pete grinding on you, man,"
To prove his point, Andy slaps a magazine down in front of Patrick, the heading title saying, 'Peterick or Bobtrick?' Patrick huffs and drops his head.
"The fuck is Peterick?" Pete asks as he flips through the magazine. Andy laughs.
"That's yours and Patrick's ship name. You're my OTP, honestly," Andy says. Pete's eyebrows furrow, but he leaves the topic alone. "Seriously, Patrick, you can't have them both,"
"Or I can just not deal with it and we can have a One Tree Hill marathon," Patrick suggests. Andy sighs and nods.
"For now. But you do have to deal with this problem," Andy says.
They all lie down; Patrick and Pete on the love seat, limbs tangled together, Andy and Joe on the recliner, molded together.
They're on season three, episode eighteen. Peyton's 'boyfriend' isn't going to show up, or at least that's what they think. Brooke walks into the kitchen, smelling pancakes.
"Something smells.." She looks at the dude cooking the pancakes with the black fringe and the guyliner before smiling and making her way to him, "yummy," She kisses him, and he kisses her back, letting out an 'mmm'.
"Pete?" She asks. He pulls away and sort of laughs as he continues cooking pancakes, leaving Brooke to clean up her own mess.
"Peyton," She laughs. "I saw him standing there, thought I was dreaming, and sort of went for it," She explains. She turns back to 'Pete'. "Sorry,"
Patrick pauses Netflix. "That guy sorta looks like you, babe," He says. Pete shakes his head.
"Not really," And it's forgotten just like that as Patrick pushes play again, snuggling up closer to his totally not boyfriend that doesn't look exactly like the Pete from One Tree Hill at all.
--
"You did what?" Patrick yells loudly, bringing Pete from his sleep. He jolts upright, watching Andy and Patrick from the kitchen. Across from him, Joe is still sleeping soundly.
"You heard me the first time. I knew you were going to keep putting the Bob thing off. So he's coming in three hours, and you're going to break up with him then. It'll make for good publicity, too, since Bob's just recently been exposed for being racist,"
"He's.. he's racist?" Patrick asks, like the Bob he knows wouldn't be mean to anyone for what they were born as.
"Yes. And he's gonna be here in a few hours. I'm going to get Pete and Joe out of the house so you can break up with him in peace, okay?" Andy asks. Patrick nods.
"Okay,"
Pete lies back down in fear of being seen, pretending he's asleep. Patrick shakes his shoulder softly, awakening him. He blinks tiredly.
"Hi," He croaks out in a raspy voice, making Patrick smile at him.
"Hi, babe," Patrick kisses his forehead. "You, Andy, and Joe are gonna go see a movie in about an hour. I've got some, uh, business to take care of,"
Pete just nods before standing up and stretching. He walks up the stairs to Patrick's master bathroom and starts the shower up. Something in the back of his head is telling him that Patrick's not gonna let Bob go that easy, but he ignores it.
Andy throws Joe over his shoulder, taking him up the stairs and lying him down on the bed. Joe wakes up probably ten minutes later to his fiancé playing with his curls.
"Me, you, and Pete are going to a movie in a little while if you wanna get a shower," Andy tells him. Joe nods and kisses Andy before making his way to the bathroom in Andy's room.
As he's washing his hair, Joe feels an arm around his waist and a head pressed to his shoulder. "Huh?" He asks, looking at Andy, who's smiling at him.
"You're crazy if you think I'm letting you shower alone,"
Two hours and forty-five minutes later, there's a knock on the door. Pete and Andy and Joe left probably an hour ago to go see Unfriended. Patrick answers the door to see his boyfriend standing there smiling at him.
"Hey, babe," Bob says, pressing a kiss to Patrick's cheek. Patrick smiles involuntarily. "Sorry I couldn't really see you the past month. I was really busy with news appearances and stuff,"
"It's okay, baby," Patrick smiles. Shit, he can't do this. This wasn't how this was supposed to go. He was supposed to act all closed off and everything and then break up with Bob.
Now he's got Bob pressed against the door, a tongue occupying his mouth that isn't his. Dammit.
--
An hour and a half later, Bob finds his clothes and leaves, kissing Patrick once more. Patrick wasn't supposed to fuck him. He was supposed to break up with him.
"I love you," Bob says as he lingers at the door. Patrick doesn't say it back. He can't. He doesn't know if it's true. So Bob just smiles at him and leaves.
Ten minutes later, Pete, Andy, and Joe return. "That was the worst fucking movie I've ever seen," Andy says as soon as they walk through the door.
"How would you know? You wouldn't stop kissing Joe long enough to watch," Pete says bitterly. Joe just laughs.
"Hey, Patrick," Pete says, smiling at him. Patrick's never been more disappointed in himself before.
"Hey," He answers coolly as he flips through channels. Andy appears beside him.
"Can I speak with you in the other room?" He whispers in his ear. Patrick nods and stands up, kissing Pete's cheek as he passes him.
Once he and Andy are in the kitchen with the door closed, Patrick waits for his best friend to speak.
"So?" Andy asks. Patrick shrugs.
"So what?" He tries to play dumb. Andy shakes his head.
"Did you break up with him?" He asks. Patrick could tell him the truth. Or he could lie. He opts for option B.
"Yeah," He says. Andy smiles at him.
"Good. Now please go fuck Pete before I lose my mind," He says.
"Okay,"
