~Chapter 24-Help~
Today was like any other day in the dreadfully boring anti-void.
Error, sitting extremely close to Blue, continued to make his creepy dolls and hang them up on the ceiling. Blue's sweet humming echoed through the bright white space, laying on the ground, eyes closed and hands clasped together nervously.
Error glances over for a split second before rolling his eyes and going back to making his creepy Fresh doll, which he suddenly starts to crush in his skeletal hand.
"W-whAt's w-wroNg wiTh y-you?" Error speaks up.
Blue flips open one eye, his smile faltering for a split second before he sharply sits up and huffs.
"I'm just nervous!" Blue wails, his hands falling by his side as he flings his head back and whines.
Error throws the Fresh doll behind his back, not satisfied with it. He goes back to his needles and threads, his hands starting to make another Fresh doll. One that didn't look like it was make by a five year old. Blue grunts in disapproval at Error's disinterest, his gloved hand reaching out and tugging on Error's coat.
Error lets out a glitched sigh, stopping his doll making process and turning his head to a pouty Blueberry.
"W-whY aRe y-yOu nervouS?" He asks making Blue's smile tug downwards.
"When are they getting here?!" Blue's head thumps down on Error's shoulder.
Error ticks at the physical contact, the errors on his body growing in size. Trying to ignore his yellow hues for his blush, he looks back down at his half made doll, eyes vibrating and body twitching.
"E-eH... t-t-they'lL be h-hEre sOon." He mumbles.
Blue lifts his head from Error's shoulder only to slam it back down, the boredom getting to his head. Error lifts up a hand from his lap, putting it on Blue's forehead and pushing him away.
"P-physical c-conTAct," Error growls, removing his yellow fingertip from Blue's forehead.
Blue gives a squeak, his stary eyes filling with an apologetic emotion. Error's tense shoulders relax, his angered expression softening.
"I'm sorry!" Blue cries with worry he did something wrong, his hands clasped together at his now heavy chest.
Error prys his eyes away from Blue, going back to his doll without another word being said. Blue drops his hands down to his lap, head hanging with guilt as he continues to wait for his soon-to-be friends arrive.
Blue yelps when Error reaches over and puts a hand on Blue's hipbone, pulling him to his side. Blue innocently looks up at Error's face, a dark blush consuming his whole skull. Error pretends to ignore his actions, keeping his eyes fixed on his lap as his fingers continued to stitch carefully. Without another thought, Blue cheers and wraps his arms around Error in return, his grin never losing its happiness.
"You're so bipolar!" Blue laughs at a now embarrassed Error.
"S-shUt u-uP."
Blue cuddles up to Error as close as he can, eyes flickering over to the endless white, hoping that a portal will open real soon. His nervousness was getting the better of him. He couldn't stop worrying about you and how you are in serious danger. From time to time, Error would open a portal for Blue and let him see inside. It would always be focused on you.
He's seen you cry, laugh, crack up at Fresh's lame puns. He even saw you kill your own parents.
That threw the little guy off.
He was scared of you for a day or two, but then told himself that you had a reason. You wouldn't have done it unless there was a reason. Or, maybe Fresh convinced you into doing it? His curiosity got the better of him when he wished it hadn't. He could've lived on not knowing you jabbed out your dad's eye with a fork. But the past is the past.
He isn't focused on how cruel you were then. He's only focused on your safety and that he may hug you one day. He wants to feel your arms wrap around him in return so badly. You just made him smile and feel all fuzzy like a big brother would. He wanted to call you little sis more than anything in the whole anti-void.
While Blue was busy in thought, he didn't hear a portal being opened. Error's eyes scan over, his hold on Blue letting loose. Blue snaps out of his daze, throwing himself away from Error, pretending like nothing happened, his face burning bright blue.
"BLUEBERRY!"
Blue's head whips over to the direction of the portal, his smile widening as Dream comes running through it, arms wide and ready for a hug. Blue scrambles up and runs towards him, the two immediately locking into a friendly embrace.
Error stares with a disgusted expression, whole body shivering.
"Y-yUck. A-afFectioN."
Not a second later, Ink comes walking through the portal along with a depressed looking Geno. Ink's eyes lock with the two embracing bodies, a smile coming to his face.
"Guys!" He cheers, running over and joining into the hug.
Geno passes by the ball of hugging sanses, heading straight for Error. He gives a forced smile, holding up a fist to Error.
"Hey, bro."
Error looks at his hand with dull eyes but gives him a needed fist bump, nodding his head without a word. The two, at the exact time, shove their hands inside their coat pockets, sighing with uninterest.
"Are you prepared for the fight that's coming up?" Geno asks, not bothering to turn his head to Error. He didn't care enough.
"A f-figHt I'll w-wIn?" Error replies with a question, his yellow smile turning into a smirk.
Error and Nightmare hate each other. It would be a miracle if they didn't start a overly huge fight right dead in a meeting.
"You're getting cocky, stupid." Geno hisses playfully.
Blue, Dream, and Ink release from the tight hug. Dream's eyes shined like stars in a night sky, his hands clenched into shaking fists of excitement. The three of them haven't seen each other in forever. The Star Sanses eventually stopping seeing each other as a group. They all parted ways, not looking back. No one knew why, but they did. Ink and Dream have seen each other, but Blue was never invited. Those meetings were... different from others.
"Are you guys to help me like you promised?!" Blue asks the two.
Ink sets a hand down on his hip, giving a thumbs up and huge smile. Dream nods vigorously, not able to get any words out.
"Why wouldn't we? You're our best friend, Blue!" Dream finally takes a deep breath, getting out words that weren't all stuck together.
"Are you feeling any better? I don't know why, but Error made sure that every single AU knew you were hurt." Ink scratches the back of his neck.
Blue puts a hand on the back of his skull, feeling the crack that Unfresh made by slamming his head against the ground repeatedly. His other hand travels down and presses to the spot where his rib was broken off.
"I-I'm fine." He stutters, his eyes saddening.
He quickly smiles, going through his head to find something to change the subject. If he didn't like talking about it with Error, he didn't like to talking about it to anyone.
"U-uhm, where is your brother, Dream?" Blue nervously changes the subject.
The two instantly catch that he didn't want to talk, letting it go and continuing on with the conversation. Dream looks back at the opened Portal, giving a shrug.
"He should be-"
He gets cut off by a deep yet shrill voice cutting through the portal. Nightmare comes walking through, Cross hanging onto his arm.
"S-senpai! Don't leave!" Cross whines.
Nightmare growls, snapping his bright blue eye down to Cross who wouldn't let go of his arm. Error snorts, trying not to laugh as Geno slaps his arm harshly, trying to shut him up.
"Go away!" Nightmare yells, putting a hand on Cross' face and tries pushing him back into the portal.
"Don't leave, Nightmare!" Cross struggles against Nightmare grip, not wanting to be shoved back through the portal alone.
Nightmare takes all of his tendrils and grabs the back of Cross' clothing, throwing him inside the portal and snapping his slimy black fingers, the portal closing immediately after.
"No."
Letting out a breath, Nightmare makes his way over to everyone that just watched, crap eating smiles on their faces. Blue catches Error and Nightmare glare at each other, and a pinch of Dream casting bad vibes Nightmare's way. Geno and Ink kept to themselves, not wanting to be included.
"I have a huge favor to ask of all of you!" Blue suddenly shouts, catching everyone's attention.
"We don't understand, Blueberry... why are we here?" Dream questions, hanging oddly close to Ink.
Nightmare smirks, crossing his arms. Blue gives him a dirty looks, only to be calmed by Error putting a hand on his shoulder.
"I know what you need. What makes you think I'll help that little twerp?"
Blue's surprised expression turns into one of anger.
"Shut up and listen!" He points at Nightmare, face turning dark blue from anger.
Nightmare holds up his hands, keeping quiet after Blue's outburst. Blue shrugs off Error's hand, marching up to Nightmare with a face of determination.
"You can help me and you will help me! My human sister is in danger and I need your help! What else have you got to do? Deal with Cross? Fresh is out there and he's planning on killing someone I care for!" Blue practically rips Nightmare a new one.
Geno puts a hand over his mouth trying to hide his growing smile. Ink and Dream snicker together, and Error just crosses his arms, glaring at Nightmare. Everyone knew at that moment what they were called for and it made sense.
"I need all of your help! I can't do this on my own." Blue tears up.
"I'll help." Geno speaks up.
Blue looks over at the white and red Sans, a small smile making its way onto his cheekbones.
"We'll help, too!" Dream says, eyes sparkling with the eagerness to do whatever he can.
Ink gives a confident nod, supporting Dream's words. Looking back over to Nightmare, everyone waits for his answer. He chuckles, his bright white smile tipping into a lopsided smirk.
"Yeah, I'll help. Tell us what we need to do."
Blue, tension being released from his shoulders, gives a happy smile.
"Nightmare, I need you to be her guide. Help her get through rough times, try to convince her that Fresh is terrible."
Nightmare leans all of his weight on one side, giving a lazy shrug of his dripping black shoulders. Blue turns to Ink and Dream, the two standing up straight, waiting for their mission.
"I need you two to keep her safe. If you feel like she's in more danger than she already is, do something to turn her the other way."
The two salute, replying with a very loud: "YES SIR!" Blue laughs, turning to Geno who gives a soft smile, which Blue gladly returns.
"In case Ink and Dream can't save her in time and she dies, I need you to be there for her in the death screen. Also try to convince her that Fresh is evil."
Geno gives a confident nod, planning on helping Blue the best he can. Everyone gives one last wave and snap their fingers, opening their own portals.
"Welp, I got some convincing to do. Later suckers- WHAT?" Cross lunges out of Nightmare's portal, pulling him inside before he can do anything.
"We won't fail you!" Ink and Dream say in unison, literally diving into their portal.
"Don't worry. I've got her covered, kiddo." Geno gives a wave, walking into his portal without another word.
When all of the portals are closed and no one else is coming into the anti-void, Error sighs, turning to Blue. Blue gives a fake smile, one that Error seen right through.
"W-whAt do I-I n-nEed t-to d-dO?"
Blue's smile vanishes, his cheerful and determined attitude fading away like white noise. Error tilts his head, eyes wide at the sudden mode change.
"I-I..."
Blue busts into stress induced tears, running into Error's arms and crying to his hearts content. Error's head ticks, a yellow blush spreading across his black and blue cheekbones.
"I-I need you to h-help me k-kill Fresh when the time is right-!" Blue cries.
Error hesitates but eventually wraps his arms around Blue, laying his black skull on top of Blue's white one. One of Blue's hands grip onto the fabric of Error's coat, his body beginning to tremble.
"I-I need you to be my support. To be there when in need you the most! And right now, I... I need you."
