Chapter Five: Drip, Drip, Drip-The Next Morning

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

I groaned as that woke me from my for once peaceful sleep.

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

My eyes flashed opened as that irritating sound continued, glaring up at the ceiling in above of me—you never know, it might be the culprit.

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

'Who left the water running?!' I silently demanded. 'Because I will get them back for this. I did NOT wanted to be woken up!'

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

'UGH!' I thought, annoyed. 'It's hard enough to sleep on a stone slab in a cell, but now I have to listen to that irritating sound?'

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

"You seem quite mad," spoke the Masked One, sounding amused.
'It always seems to be whenever I'm annoyed, in pain, or something is just going plain wrong with whatever.'
"It's like you don't enjoy the smoothing sound of the 'drip, drip, drip.' Which I can hardly imagine why, because I find it actually quite like it."
'Good for you,' I thought, but didn't say out loud.

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

"You can stop doing that now."
No response.

DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.
DRIP.

"Like, seriously—" I started as I turn to see the Masked One standing there in the doorway to my cell, but with blood dripping down from his fingertips. And he was towards me with his arm outstretched towards me, but the only thing that came to my mind was, 'At least I'll be able to see my parents again.'
