'NEEM TREE'

There was one Neem tree
in the backyard of our neighbor's
Secret place for 5 years old me
to play at for infinite hours.

There was one Neem tree
whose cool shade was none less warm than mother's lap
Where stubborn rays would tickle me,
sneaking through canopy, disturbing beauty nap.

There was one Neem tree
no ladder could beat height at
Leaves greener than crayons and
cute flowers to decorate my doll's hat.

There was one Neem tree
so kind to listen all my rants
Always protected me from blazing sun
despite my carvings on it thought as art.

There was one Neem tree
similar to million plants who were ruthlessly chopped
I cried for hours under the blazing sun
had nothing but cheeks stained with tears dropped...

Hey everyone,

How was last week?

I had learnt a poem 'Trees' that day in school and when I returned it was already gone. I still miss it a lot.

We already have murdered billions of lives. Let us not snatch future generations' best friends... More importantly let us not snatch their breaths...

Spread smiles, till next Saturday
