✧Six || FOREST✧

The elf halfling fusses around the kitchen, packing some snacks and three lunches that are neatly organised in three seperate weaved lunch boxes.

"Cecillius, do you need any help?" Ash asks, her curly short hair into a small loose braid with the same ribbon as yesterday to tie it off. Her body is adorned with the same white button up from the previous day which underneath a buttoned up sleeveless dress in a soft light green colour that comes to rest two inches above the knee. Theres a thick white strip at the bottom of the dress that gives it a pop along with two hand pockets and a right breast pocket. A pair of black tights cover her legs as she wears a pair of lace up brown leather boots and matching leather gloves.

"Oh no Dear, I'm done now anyways." He had woken her up early in the morning to get her feed and dressed for the long journey into town. "Though I'm glad I ended up finishing your outfit in time, we really need this trip to the town." Turning around he fixes his own appearance.

Cecillius is wearing a white button up long sleeved shirt which has a dark wine purple coloured sleeveless open jacket on-top, the inside that is flipped is a charming sage green with white swirled details, his arms are covered with leather protectors that come up to his elbows with lighter brown leather straps criss-crossing over to hold it in place. Along with this his trousers are a dark grey that are stuffed into black leather lace up boots. His stunning long straight white and blue tipped hair is tied neatly into a low pony with a few pieces out to frame his face.

"Thank you for that." Ash says playing with her fingers.

He beams her one of his soft smiles. "Don't worry about it Dear, I'm just happy you like it. You look beautiful."

A blush creeps onto her cheeks. "You look n-nice too." She replies stumbling over her words.

Laughing he pats her shoulder comfortingly before checking his pocket watch.

"Were is Mr. Wendigo?" The female asks, not having seen him the whole morning.

Before the halfling can respond the pair hear the bell on the door chime, craning her head to the side she see's the male she was just questioning about.

Immediately Cecillius starts fussing about again, grabbing the spell book onto the table before flicking through the pages. He hands the Wendigo the book and the Wendigo starts saying words in a different tongue.

Ash is mesmerised by the words, not knowing a damn thing but getting lulled by it all the same, she can't even start to think about how he can say these delicate words. A few lights come in from the open window, the fae here to help whichever spell the Wendigo is casting.

A bright light bursts out blinding her for a moment, she instinctively closes her eyes tightly waiting for it to pass. After a few seconds she peaks one of her eyes open, standing right were the Wendigo was standing is a whole different person.

He's shorter than the Wendigo but still tall, around six feet maybe a bit more with short light brown hair that is parted on once side and slicked back, his eyes are a green with hazel around the iris that compliments his slightly warm complexion.  His face is slim and with a string bone structure, high cheek bones and a prominent jaw. He looks handsome and mature, around in his late thirties.

"Uh-What?" Ash's eyes widen as she franticly looks around trying to find were the Wendigo went, but she comes up empty.

The male turns to Cecillius. "Did the spell go wrong?" He asks, his low voice is familiar to her but she doesn't know how.

"No Sir the spell is perfect, Ash just hasn't seen you in this form before." Taking the book back, the elf closes it and puts it back onto the table. "Dear this is a cloaking type of spell, a physical change of sorts. It changes your physical appearance to whatever you please, though it does take a lot of practice as it is a harder spell, it also relies on whatever you got your source power from. As Sir got it from the fae in this forest the source is this particular forest, so to get around this Sir will be wearing a charm that is a part of the forest." He takes a small necklace from his pocket which has a small green crystal attached to it and hands it to the Wendigo.

Her eyes travel up the Wendigo's new form, he's wearing the same outfit as yesterday though with a dark navy shirt, black tie and a long black open coat. A frown tugs on her lips. "I assume there is another name I should be addressing you as when we go out? I don't think calling you the monster that is told in fairytales is appropriate, especially in a town."

Raising a thick eyebrow, the Wendigo cross's his large arms. "Yes that does seem inappropriate, do you any idea's for a name?"

Shrugging the female gets up and grabs the over the shoulder small leather bag that Cecillius had given to her earlier. "Maybe Dayton." Ash says the first name that comes to her mind, mostly as a joke.

"Dayton. . . That will suffice." Hearing a deep voice say the word Dayton  makes her eyes turn wide as she suppresses a giggle.

"Okay enough dilly dallying, we need to get moving." Cecillius says, he sends Ash a wink when the Wendigo isn't paying attention.

They make their way outside, Cecillius locking the house and tucking away the keys in his packets before they venture into the thick forest.

Tripping over a rock, Ash puts her arms to brace herself but Cecillius grabs her upper-arm and pulls her into him.

"Oop, careful now Dear." He says softly, letting go and checking if the younger female got hurt anywhere.

"Thank you." She says flustered.

Sending her a soft smile he just starts walking again. "Its alright, best to keep close to me now though."

Nodding she walks a bit more closer to him, her eyes go over the forest. It smelt of moss and greenery, the forest is buzzing with life, beatles and small creatures scurrying on the floor and up the tree's with birds and other winged creatures flying above.

Too indulged with the forest the time flies quickly and they reach two huge wards.

"After we get to the other wards we will have to walk a bit more before we get to a path were I have arranged for a carriage to pick us up, the ride is a bit long" The Wendigo says looking over the intricate details of the wards.

The carvings make Ash's eyes widen in awe, she runs her fingertips lightly over them, she could feel how old they were and surprisingly the stone's are warm, almost buzzing under her skin.

"Would you like to hold onto me Dear? You haven't been through one of these conscious yet and it takes a bit to get use too." The elf asks holding his hand out to her.

Suddenly feeling very nervous, she swallows thickly before nodding. "This isn't going to hurt, is it?" She asks, her hands shaking slightly.

Grasping her hand into his larger warm one he shakes his head. "You might feel nauseous but I assure you no harm will fall onto you, If anything happens both of us are here to help." He reassures her, squeezing her hand lightly.

Ash watches the Wendigo place his palm flat against the right stone ward, his eyes shift to glow it's normal red. "Close your eyes." His normal voice booms in her head and she complies, squeezing her eyes shut tightly as she feels the wind swirl and nip at her hair and skin.

Her head spins as a wave of nausea hits her like a truck, she almost falls onto her knee's but the male next to her is quick to grab her body. A buzz rings in her ears as she feels light headed, her mind blank with confusion.

"Open your eyes slowly now." Cecillius says running a hand through her hair to sooth any pain and calm her down, the other is wrapped securely around her body.

Opening her eyes she first see's Cecillius's face, he's sitting down with her sitting on-top of him, her face bursts a scarlet hue.

"I'm so sorry." She blurts as she tries to get up.

The halfling helps her to her feet slowly. "It's no problem my dear, do you feel okay? Any pain?"

She shakes her head. "No not really, the buzzing has stopped and the nausea is going away."

"Good good, we only have a little bit more until we reach the carriage. If you need to stop for a break just tell us okay?"

Nodding they start walking, Ash makes a note on how this forest doesn't have the same warmth as the other one had.

The audible sound of horses hooves slowly lull Ash to sleep, her body swaying slightly as she forces herself to stay awake. She had spent most of the night reading away and she only got one or two hours of sleep before Cecillius had woken her up.

Her eyes close softly as she starts falling asleep until her head slips too much forward, waking back up she blinks a few times before fidgeting in her seat. Looking over to the opposite seat she see's the Wendigo reading a small book and Cecillius asleep leaning onto the window, he looks so peaceful.

'He must've spent the whole night making my new clothes'. Ash thinks, guilt washes over her but she quickly shakes it away.

The warm sun hits on her through the window just right which only aids into her sleepiness. Her tired gaze turns back onto the Wendigo, he looks to engrossed into his book to care about whats around him.

'Cecillius is taking a nap and Mr. Wendigo has his nose in that book so I should be okay to close my eyes for a bit. . . No one will notice. . .'

Her thoughts trail of as she her eyes start to close again, this time she doesn't fight it. She gets lulled to sleep by the suns warmth and the carriage's movement.
