Going Home

Caleb P.O.V

I walked on the long road as the rain started to pour. I hugged myself to keep warm from the freezing water soaking through my clothes.

I sighed as I saw no cars. I had no idea where I was or how to get home. I took out my phone that Zachary had left in my back pocket and sighed when there was no signal, not that I actually expected there to be one in the first place.

I sighed and kept walking until a small silver Toyota stopped on the side of the road. It looked familiar to me. I ran up and opened the car door only to see my mom.

"Mom!" I said, hopping in the passenger seat.

"Caleb! Oh dear Lord! Where have you been?!" she yelled while hugging me.

I hugged back tightly and shivered.

"I just wanna go home right now... Can we talk about this later?" I asked.

She nodded and started the car again. She drove home fairly fast, keeping the heat on to warm me up.

I was out of the car just as fast as I got in it. I ran into the house and into my room, throwing off my old clothes and putting on a comfy pair of pajamas. My mom followed me of course, obviously being concerned that I wasn't at home for several days.

"Where were you?!" she screeched while hugging me tight.

"Nowhere... But I can't really, breathe..." I huffed out from the tightness of the hug.

She let go and sighed, obviously still wanting to know. I gulped. Some part of me didn't want to tell on Zachary. It's like I couldn't being myself to do it.

"What happened?" she asked again.

"Some guy took me off campus... I didn't know him... I managed to knock him out and get away... I'm okay now..." I lied.

"I'm so glad you're home..." she said softly while hugging me.

"Me too, Mom..."

'What the hell am I doing?'
