"The lights are beautiful at this time of night," Cassie spoke softly, walking slowly down the path in Neverland with Michael, "So pretty."

"Yes ... I agree," Michael answered, walking next to her, "Absolutely beautiful."

He stopped in his tracks, making Cassie do the same, following his lead. He turned to her, looking gently into her eyes, and she noticed the lights giving a wonderful glow to his irises.

"Really beautiful ... " he repeated.

The way in which his gaze was fixed on hers sent a light shiver running down Cassie's spine. His eyes – so deep and elegant – never failed to disorientate her senses in the most wonderful way. His soft curls were floating on the night breeze, a couple single wispy locks covering his forehead.

Cassie couldn't avert her eyes anywhere else in that moment; all she could focus on was Michael's inviting, yet sincere stare. It wasn't intimidating in the slightest, yet it still didn't fail to create a strange feeling deep down in her stomach.

"Uh ... yes," Cassie spoke at last, "Really beautiful ... "

She started to walk ahead of Michael, believing that the conversation was over, but when a small grasp touched upon her arm, she gasped and turned back around to see Michael's eyes locked on hers once again.

"Cassie?" he spoke her name warmly.

"Yes?" she nodded.

"I wasn't ... I wasn't talking about the lights that time ... " he admitted.

"Then what were you talking about?" she pressed.

His eyes – for the first time since they stopped walking – shifted their gaze downwards, before he let Cassie's arm slip from his grasp.

"Well ... you," he confessed quietly.

Cassie furrowed her eyebrows; for she was a little stunned at these words. She exhaled, the sound almost coming across as a light chuckle.

"Me?" she asked in clarification.

The only part of her facing Michael was her head, so she fully turned around to see him. Michael let his eyes move up until they met hers, before giving her the smallest, most bashful smile she'd ever seen.

"Yes," he responded sincerely, "You, Cassie."

She was still a little shocked from Michael's confession, but tried to remain professional and calm, as not to appear unusual to him. Added to this, she was slightly unsure on what was going to happen next. She had had feelings for Michael for a time that felt like forever, but she didn't want to seem eager and make a move, in case it was just a simple compliment.

"W-Well ... thank you," she said kindly, "Uh ... that means a lot to me, Michael."

Michael remained silent for a couple of moments, wanting desperately to make a move, but feeling to shy to do so. This was the perfect moment; they were alone, at night, with the beautiful nightlife of Neverland surrounding them. Could he make the move?

He felt a slight sense of rebelliousness within him, so he decided to.The worst that could happen was that she wouldn't like it.

"Cassie ... um ... " he hesitated at first, but then he managed to build up enough confidence, "Listen ... I've never met anybody like you. You ... you understand me, and not a lot of people understand me. You're amazing to Prince and Paris, and ... I feel different when I'm with you, you know?"

He gently rubbed his hand over his arm, around his elbow area, trying to find the right words to say. It wasn't often that he revealed feelings like this to girls, and he wanted to get it just right for this one.

"And ... that feeling is something that I can barely ... sort of ... control, now ... " he concluded.

Cassie stood opposite him, taking in every word he spoke. She was still unsure on what Michael was trying to say, but didn't want to seem rude by interrupting his confession by asking.

Michael took a step closer to Cassie, so they were only centimetres apart. He was taller than her, so his frame slightly towered over her. However, this made her feel safe, and protected.

He exhaled, which created a fine mist in the air, as he raised his arm to tuck a lock of hair behind Cassie's ear.

"Really beautiful ... " he repeated a third time.

He slowly leant in towards her, feeling the moment was right, and let his lips gently brush against hers. She didn't protest about this, which assured him he was right to make the move. He pulled away, his lips still lingering close to hers, before pressing them against hers once again, with a little more pressure applied than before.

Well, I'll leave it for you guys to judge. I try not to use the word "lips", but seeing it used makes me all goofy and happy anyway. xD
