Jungkook pauses. He hadn't thought this through very well. Jimin is the only person he hangs out with, so if he tells Taehyung who his friend is, surely the older boy could put the pieces together.

Jungkook copies Yoongi's number and texts it to Jimin. The said boy responds with an entire page's worth of emojis ranging from terrified ones to hearts. Jungkook chuckles at the reaction, then notices Taehyung had sent him a picture. Like always, his heart falters before he opens it.

Then Jungkook does the dumbest thing he's ever done.

He screenshots it.

It had been completely instinctual for him to do it, but the horror strikes immediately after, his heart pounding like crazy in his chest. He definitely just creeped Taehyung out beyond every boundary. Here he was making progress and he ruined it!

Damn hormones...

Taehyung chats him almost instantly. Jungkook dreads opening it, but he does so reluctantly, not being able to stand it.

Jungkook swallows the lump in his throat and locks his phone screen. Some questions don't need to be answered.

But Jungkook's phone lights up when he doesn't respond for a good ten minutes.

Jungkook goes to reply but stops short, his lips parting.

Taehyung really blocked him.

He scoffs a little to himself, tossing his phone onto his bed just as his mom calls him down for dinner. He doesn't know whether he should laugh or not. Surely this is a joke. Taehyung just confessed he enjoyed talking to him.

His mom smiles at him when he takes his usual seat across from his sister, their mother at the head. His younger sister still sets a plate full of food in front of the chair their father used to occupy.

Mina starts her usual antics, playing footsies with Jungkook under the table. He grins at her and gently kicks back, causing a giggle to leave her lips. The two are scolded by their mother as always before the three begin to eat.

"Eomma," Mina says between a mouthful. "Can I invite my boyfriend to my birthday party next month?"

Jungkook's eyes bulge as he stares at his ten year old sister. Both he and his mother choke out at the same time, "Boyfriend?"

Mina nods casually. "Yes. Seon Woo brought me flowers this morning so now he's my boyfriend."

Their mother composes herself and gives her daughter a small smile, deciding to play along. "So this Seon Woo is nice to you?"

"Yes. He told me he's liked me all year. I didn't really like him before but I do now. Orabeoni, you have a crush, don't you?"

Jungkook instantly feels heat creep up his neck and into his cheeks. He clears his throat and looks down at his food. "N-no, why would you think that?"

"When you show me your pictures, there's always this one—"

"Mina, your food is going to get cold," Jungkook cuts her off, fear racing through him. He's never admitted he likes Taehyung to himself, albeit he knows he does. However, he doesn't want his mom to know. He doesn't know how she'd react if she knew her son liked another boy. She used to always try to get him and their neighbor's daughter to play together, always talked about them becoming closer since she was quite fond of the girl.

Mina pouts. "You're not my parent."

He gives her a pleading look, though she's only ten and he doubts she understands it. "Just eat, okay?"

He can feel his mom giving him a strange stare, so he keeps his eyes anywhere but in her direction, shoveling food into his mouth simply to distract himself.

When he settles into his bed for sleep later that night, his phone lights up.
