I sit by the window, the wisps of her shadow before me as she disipates back into my subconscious.

A sob escapes me as I curl into myself again.

I hate her.
I hate myself.
I hate my life.

Why can't my life be like every other mondaine human being's?

The door unlocks, my head immediately snapping towards it.

I watch as the door opens and a fully dressed Loki walks through it, closing it behind him.

"Get up," he says harshly, taking off his tie.

I get to my feet, keeping my eyes cast to the floor. I hadn't put on any clothes, too occupied with screaming my lungs out, so my body is still bare to him.

His feet come into my view and he stands right in front of me.

"Kneel."

My body trembles as I take in what he ordered.

God why me?

He raises my chin with his finger, making me look him in the eyes.

"I said to kneel."

Tears threaten to spill from my eyes, but I don't let them. I can't let this bastard see me weak.

I kneel down, my gaze kept on him as he doesn't remove his finger from my chin.

"Now tell me," he says, his voice laced with mischief, "did you enjoy it?"

Shit.

"No," my voice quavers a bit.

But I did god damn it.
Too much.

"You did not enjoy it as I fucked you atop my desk, or on the stairs?"

"No."

"Even as you scream my name as pleasure raked though your body?"

"No."

"Even as I made love to you slowly, passionately?"

I pause.

Making love?

He sees my hesitation.

"No."

He grabs ahold of my jaw and leans close.

"That's four times you've lied to me, Darling," he says, malice edging his words, "now you need to be given your consequence."

What?

"Did you really believe you could lie to the God of Mischief and Lies?" He hisses, "I can see through your lies, woman, I know what the truth is."

He releases my face and my head lowers, eyes fixed on the floor.

Damn it.

"I'll give you one more chance," he purrs, "tell me the truth. Did you enjoy it?"

"Yes," my voice is barely above a whisper.

He lifts my chin again.

"What was that, pet?"

Tears prick at my eyes.

"Yes."

A victorious grin etches itself on his face.

"Good," he releases my chin, "for your honesty, you get a reward."

Reward?

"Dress yourself," he orders as he perches on the edge of his bed.

I slowly get to my feet and grab some clothes from the dresser; a pair of black shorts and a green cropped shirt along with beige undergarments. I put them on, my back to the staring god.

I turn to him when I'm finishes.

He looks me up and down, standing straight up and taking a few steps in front me.

"Hmm," he hums, "something's missing." He circles me, stopping in front of me.

His eyes sear down at me.

"I know what it is," he flicks his hand and a gold necklace appears, elegantly draped on his fingers. A rectangular emerald hangs from the chain, glinting in.thw sunlight shining in from the window.

He steps behind me again, draping the necklace in front of me and clasping it behind my neck. His cold fingers graze the back of my neck as he collects my hair to take it our from under the chain, the contact sending a small shiver through me. The jewel rests right on my collarbone.

He comes back in front on me.

"Much better," he tucks a lock of hair behind my ear, seeming to all the world like an affectionate lover.

He stands for a moment, just looking at me, his eyes almost seeming to hold sympathy.

"Sometimes a smile is the hardest mask to wear," his voice is soft as his thumb caresses my cheek.

I open my mouth to ask a question.but he continues.

"Come along, Darling," he takes my hand and guide me out of the room.

He heads downstairs and to the front door.

He's taking me outside?

The doors open and the wind whips my hair back as it gusts towards us. The scent of pine and dirt hits me and I nearly cry.

This is the first time I've been outside in months. The first time I've felt the grass between my toes, felt the wind swirling around me, felt the warmth of the sun beating down on me.

"Do you see that tree?"

I open my eyes and look to where Loki is pointing. It's a small tree that stands alone on a hill.

"Yes," I answer.

"There is a spell that won't allow you to go past that tree," he explains turning to me, "up to that point, you are free to explore."

My eyes widen.

He's letting me explore?

I look at the large area I'm allowed as he releases my hand.

There's a large garden, filled with trees and flowers, large climbing trees, and a small pond.

Loki's POV
We've been out here for over an hour now. I've watched as she's climbed tree after tree trying to see how far in the middle of no where we are. She walked around the garden looking at the different flowers, reciting the names of the different flora in her head. At one point she waded in the pond just to feel the mud under her feet.

I've sat myself under one of the trees, reading my book, allowing her to wander on her own for a quarter of an hour.

I reach for her mind, curious to see where she is and what she is doing now that my eyes are not trained on her.

"You could make a run for it."

That voice again.

I get to my feet and head in the direction of her.

"No I can't. He cast a spell remember?"

"Spell shmell, you could still run."

"And go where? He's turned me into a whore," I stop in my tracks, "no one wants a whore around, let alone for a daughter."

She thinks herself a whore?

"Well there's always the other option. These trees are high enough and it could look like an accident."

No.

I begin to move again faster than before.

I can't let her kill herself. I can't lose her.

I find her in the distance, leaning against the tree I had pointed out earlier.
Except she's not alone.

A shadow figure stands beside her, it's shape and size identical to hers.

"It would be so easy. Just climb up, snap a branch then jump. It would look like the branch broke when you were climbing," it places it's hands on her shoulders, leaning in close, "so easy."

"It would be easy," she agrees.

"And you said it yourself, no one wants a whore around."

I watch y/n shake her head as if coming out of a daze.

"Fuck you," the thought is a hiss, "I'm not killing myself so go away."

It chuckles.

I'm at the foot of the hill.

"You'll give in one day, sister. And when you do, I'll be there to let you see what you've done."

The figure disipates into a wisp and seems to go inside of y/n.

"Y/n!" I call half way up the hill.

She turns, fear written on her features.

"What the bloody hell was that?"

"What are you-"

"Don't act daft woman," I growl grabbing her arm, "I saw the figure."

"It's," she looks away, "it's complicated."

"Well uncomplicate it!" I shout, "it was trying to get you to run then to kill yourself, so don't tell me it was nothing either."

Her eyes widen at my words.

"You could hear her?"

"I could hear you both!"

"But I didn't-," she thinks for a second, "you were reading my mind?!"

"Yes now tell me what it was!"

"What the fuck does it matter?! I couldn't have ran anyways with your stupid spell!" She thinks again and he tone softens, "what would have happened to me if I had?"

I sigh.

"There was never a spell."
