"So, you want to explain why you stayed up all night?"

"Not really", I groaned. "I need to confirm a few things before I tell you and sound like an idiot".

"Okay", he replied shrugging. "What time is the appointment?"

"Five, but don't worry, we will make it in time. Let's also stop somewhere for lunch. I'm going to take a nap, wake me up when there is food".

He hummed in agreement and I leaned my head on the side, falling asleep.

-

A flashlight blinded my vision and I shot up feeling disorientated. Luka was wheezing with laughter, his phone held out with one hand.

"What the fu-"

"Oh God, you should have seen your face", he exclaimed, still laughing. "You were drooling and everything".

I wiped my face and true to his words, I was drooling. Shit, I never drooled. I must have been really tired.

"Gosh, you idiot. Let me see it".

He turned his phone around quickly to give me a glimpse and I could see why he was laughing. My hair had frizzed up on one side and my mouth hung open. I looked like a mess.

"Delete it".

"No, that's blackmail material. We're at a service station, let's get some food and hit the road again".

My ears perked up at the sound of food so after fighting briefly, we agreed on Subway for lunch. Whilst he waited for the subs to be made, I went to the bathroom to freshen up so I didn't look like a complete mess.

We ate quickly and got back in the car. We were around half an hour's journey to London, so we spent the rest of the time talking and joking.

"You know I heard what happened", he asked slyly.

"About what?"

"You and Karl".

I groaned and blushed slightly. "Shut up", I responded, hitting him. "I was drunk".

"You shouldn't need to make excuses. If you like him, you like him".

I sat quietly, pondering over what he said. He was right. As soon as he asked that, I needed to justify it. Justify why I kissed Karl. That wasn't a good sign.

"Luka", I said loudly, surprising myself. "If anything was to happen to me, can you look after KK for a bit? I'll give you my parent's details as well".

"Hey, where's this coming from?" He asked, tearing his eyes off the road to give me a concerned look.

"I don't know but I would rather be safe than sorry".

"Nothing will happen, don't worry", he said grimly. "But, to give you peace of mind, I will look after KK and text me your parent's numbers".

I thanked him and sent him my parent's numbers in silence. I could tell I made him worried but I needed reassurement. It just hit me what happened to the Larom family could happen to me as well.

"We're here, his house is number twenty-five. I am going to stay in the car because they know who I am", Luka said, interrupting my train of thought.

We pulled up outside his house and I rang their doorbell nervously.

A middle-aged woman with her slightly greying her loose around her face answered the door.

"Hi, you must be Jeff's client. Come in and take a seat while I get you some refreshments".

I thanked her gratefully and sat down in the room she directed me too. The room had a homely feel to it, clean and tidy but also signs it had been lived in. She sat with me making small talk.

"Sorry, there was a small emergency so he has been called into work. He should be home in the next ten minutes or so. Where did you say you came from?"

"Oh just some village a couple of hours up North", I responded.

She nodded amiably and looked out the front window.

"Why don't you invite your friend inside as well?"

"Oh", I responded quickly. "He would rather stay in the car. We don't want to intrude".

"Oh, don't be silly you're not intruding", she went to the front door and opened it, ignoring my protests.

"Hey, you're welcome to come inside as well. You must have had a long trip - Luka?" She stumbled backwards. He looked at me not knowing how to respond.

"What- What do you want from us?" She stuttered. "We haven't said anything to any-".

"Ms Larom", I said calmly, grasping her hand. "Please give us some of your time. We need your help. You can trust us".

She looked at me sceptically, her hand still trembling.

"Ms Larom, it's me, Luka", he said softly. "You know me. I believed in you".

She watched us anxiously before sighing and letting Luka in.

"I saw your post on Facebook, that's why I've come to see you. I started working in Holston's but I noticed too many weird things happening. I need to find out what is going on".

"Any questions, you're asking me. I don't want my Caleb involved. He struggled with what he saw".

"That's completely fine. Is it possible that you still have the footage from that night? You don't need to look so worried, I promise you that this has nothing to do with Holston's. Luka is the only person who knows what I'm doing".

"You can trust her. She was trying to figure out what happened to you and that's how we met", Luka added.

"Yes", she sighed. "I don't have it with me though. They checked out stuff before we went so I decided to hide it in the forest behind the house. I told them that Caleb lost the camera in the forest".

"Where in the forest?" I asked hesitantly.

"I would say maybe a metre in, there is an old oak tree. There is a small opening and the memory card should be stored there in waterproof packaging".

"Thank you so much".

"Do be careful though and I advise you to leave before my husband gets home. He is overprotective about us and I will explain everything to him after".

"Thank you", I said, shaking her hand. "And, if you want to, I am a Clinical Psychologist so I can offer my services to Caleb if he needs it".

"No, thank you", she said, her eyes welling up with emotion. "Please get justice for my son".

We left just as another car arrived - possibly Mr Larom - and made our way home.

We arrived after ten and went straight to the forest to check. True to her words, we found an oak tree with the footage inside. I ripped open the packaging and swore. The memory card was still intact but was not compatible with modern memory card slots. I needed to buy something to make it compatible.

"Let's go back to the house as there is no reception here and have a look on the internet", Luka said. He slung his arm over my shoulders and we trekked back to my house. Upon a quick google search, I managed to find an adaptor and purchased one with two-day postage. The downside of living somewhere so exclusive I guess.

"I'm going to head home, you rest okay?"

I hummed in agreement and waved as he left. I was completely relying on this footage now for some answers.
