Adam: In the off the coast of Indonesia and surrounded in a dense fog bank, you will find the fictitious island known as Skull Island. Seems like a nice place to go right? Well there's just one itty-bitty problem with that.....

Randy: The island is inhabited by all sorts of dangerous creatures! From oversized bugs, to evolved tyrannosaurs called V-Rexes, to even the dreaded Skullcrawlers. Hell, there's even human tribes living there and they do not fuck around!

Vanessa: And that's before you decide whether Peter Jackson's or the Monsterverse' version is scary.

Adam: But amongst those who reside in this dangerous place, one creature stands above all, revered as a god to the native tribes, King Kong. Despite many incarnations differentiating one another, all of them depict Kong as an orphan  being born into Skull Island and left to fend for himself until humans arrived and he either joins them back to the mainland willing or being drugged.

Randy: Whether it's his original 1933 or the current Monsterverse, Kong's large figure grants him huge strength and he's incredibly speedy and agile for his size. He can leap great distance and being a primate, is able to come up with solutions on the fly thanks to his high intelligence. Kong is also known to use aby object as a weapon and the environment to his advantage.

Vanessa: In King Kong vs Godzilla, he can get stronger by absorbing electricity and being immune to it as well.

Adam: But Kong's got two new weapons to level the playing field, his Battle Axe and the B.E.A.S.T. Glove. A giant Axe with a dorsal plate belonging to Godzilla's species, it can absorb energy from either the Earth's core or from Godzilla's Atomic Breath to increase its power. It's sharp enough to pierce Godzilla's armored scales.

Vanessa: And in the upcoming The New Empire, where Kong got his right arm injured at some point, he gains a massive metal gauntlet called the B.E.A.S.T. or Bio Enhanced Anatomech Seismic Thunder Glove. While it's exact purpose is unknown, it has shown to be able to augment's Kong's punches.

Vanessa: Kong has survived a lot of battles against other vicious monsters in Skull Island, be it Peter Jackson's Vastatosaurus Rexes or Monsterverse's Skullcrawlers or even fellow Titan Camazotz, bested his robotic counterpart Mechani-Kong, and killed Ramarak by ripping his entire organs out via his tongue. Hardcore!

Randy: He's even held his own and defeated Godzilla and Superman. Yeah that's right, Kong went up against the King of the Monsters and Man of Steel and tore them a new asshole, with him fighting Godzilla twice mind you.

Popup: While Kong lost to Godzilla in 2021 Godzilla vs Kong, their first fight in 1963 King Kong vs Godzilla declared Kong as the winner.

Adam: Godzilla physically overpowered King Ghidorah, who has not only wiped the civilization of Venus, but has also been stated to be a far greater threat than the entire Garoga Empire and their Garoga Nukes, in which just one of them can pack 127.9 Tenatons of TNT, enough to wipe out stars. Godzilla also matched Thor's strength who's lifted the Midgard Serpent and even had his strength compared to it by Thor. But even that pales in comparison to Godzilla beating Superman.

Randy: Superman has broken the bounds of Infinity, survived Darkseid's existence erasing Omega Beams and KO'd the World Forger, a 6th Dimensional being who was creating a new multiverse who replace Supes' current one. Heck Kong survived being blown back by the shockwave of Godzilla's Atomic Breath colliding with his Battle Axe.

Vanessa: The same breath attack that punched a hole from Hong Kong to the Hollow Earth, so you know that's some serious firepower.

Weaknesses

Most incarnations were easily killed by bullets from airplanes

Battle Axes requires Godzilla's energy to be able to be more effective

Doesn't have much armor

Has been knocked out by natural/man made drugs

Enough damage can kill him

Adam: But sad to say, Kong isn't unstoppable. Early iterations of him were easily wounded and killed by airplane bullets and he's been knocked out by human-made or natural gas multiple times. It's also worth noting that he has struggled fighting other monsters he's never seen before as such as being nearly suffocated by a Warbat upon arriving to the Hollow Earth.

Vanessa: And as strong as the Battle Axe, it's only that deadly when charged with Godzilla's Atomic Breath. Like when it could barely damage MechaGodzilla when uncharged. And he did lost to Godzilla in their 2021 movie twice.

Randy: But even with these faults, Kong has proven why he more than earned his rightful title of King of Skull Island.

Kong jumps on the downed MechaGodzilla and severed its head and spin off its body with his own bare hand. Holding his decapitated opponent's head with oil gushing out, Kong roars in victory and beats his chest.
