While eating breakfast, Carol and her son began conversing of other things which the boy wanted to know further about his mother. The elderly half-Kree woman mentioned of her younger years in the US Air Force and NASA before joining the Avengers. The hybrid was very interested to listen of her story which he wanted to know about flying jet planes and going to space, while he was taking some grapes and bread to finish.

" Mom, I wanna know that day after you made a world record flight to space, " he said and drank his hot chocolate. " I remembered that day when Mar-Vell and I saw you on the TV. "

" Oh, that! " she chuckled. " I made a Guinness World Record attempt for the fastest flyer into space with a record of 10 seconds. "

" Really?! "

" Yeah, the astronauts found me and recorded my epic flight. "

" That was really cool! " he smiled. " I wish I could have done that in my cosmonaut training days in Russia. "

" Kid, we flew to the atmosphere some nights ago, right? "

" Yeah, but I just want to try further going to space just like you did. "

" Maybe, you will, Kid. " Carol smiled back. " Once this pesky long invasion is over, you're gonna have more flight training with me. "

" As a 682 clone? "

" No! " she laughed loudly and gently poked her son's shoulders. " When you get yourself fixed, Okay? "

" Right, " he nodded and changed the topic. " Mom, I wonder how you got into space as Captain Marvel and what did you do? "

" Oh, yeah. Let me tell you a story. "

(FIFTY YEARS AGO: SOMEWHERE IN INTERGALACTIC SPACE)

Outside the giant space fleet going to the outskirts of the Andromeda Galaxy, Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel flew past towards it as she spied around. The younger half-Kree blonde scanned around the vehicle and noticed some strange alien lettering scribbled on it. It was neither Kree, Sh'iar, nor, Xandarian, it was a Skrull language. She closely inspected it and sensed fear from the inside as she used her seventh sense. Just inside the fleet, there were groups of exiled aliens from different race were being taken by a gang of Skrull pirates as slaves.

" Skrulls, " Carol angrily thought. " They're causing too much trouble again just like the Lizard race. Now, what are they upto?! "

" HELP US! " a young male voice cried.

" YOU WON'T ESCAPE FROM HERE!! " the other male angrily yelled. " WE'LL TAKE YOU TO A NEW PLANET AND SERVE YOUR NEW MASTER!! "

" This isn't right..." she looked around and kept hearing the voices. " Surely, I tried beating up the Skrulls before, but this one's a different case...Well, gotta find out how to save these people."

She saw a hatch into the fleet and entered. The half-Kree woman made her way inside and looked around for those captives. Until, she got surrounded by the green-skinned pirates and pointed their weapons at her. Carol raised her both arms and moved her head around.

" My, this is bad..."

" Hello, intruder! Trying to hinder our act! " the leader of the Skrull pirates confronted and grinned. His other green-skinned fellows laughed at her as Carol cringed at their faces. Then, she turned to the people being taken as captives. " Oh, yes. You must be the half-Kree marauder, Captain Marvel! I'm so glad to meet you in person. "

" What do you guys want? "

" Well, just like your fellow Kree, we will expand the Skrull Empire throughout the cosmos! But we as space pirates are just agents of it. "

" Really?! "

  " Of course, I've got some words from my fellows here. The Kree race is also after planet Earth anytime soon. We won't allow it, lady. We have our ways to take more humans and other people. Then, we'll prove ourselves better than those blues or pinks! "

" You guys gotta be kidding me..." she sternly replied. " You took people from different parts of the universe for your slavery exploit. How lame..."

" Heh...How did you know? "

" Don't ask..."

    Carol emitted a bright yellow photon blast and struck one of the pirates. They fell down. The others started to retaliate by shooting her. She quickly dodged away and blasted their guns. The others got afraid to deal with her. The Skrull pirates shot her on the leg using their laser guns and watched her falling down. Carol was struggling to fight back and regenerating her leg by touching it with her illuminating hands. She angrily glared at her opponents, but still she got surrounded by them. 

" Dammit! I'm almost got them down, " she thought and clenched her left hand. " They're gonna toast me into ashes soon..."

" YOU FOOL, IT'S TIME TO MEET YOUR FATE, IF YOU DON'T SUBMIT TO US! " the leader angrily yelled and summoned a Super-Skrull who confronted the half-Kree woman.

" Heh, really..." she anxiously chuckled and paused. " I...."

" If you lose to fight him, you'll end as a captive into a slave..."

" Oh, crud..."

The Super-Skrull used his elongated arms as Carol struggled to break free and would her face her death anytime soon. She looked around the captives and heard of their cries. She was about to be choked and strangled to death, but she used her super-strength to break free and kicked her opponent's gut.

 " Go ahead, Freak! Fight me! " she angrily exclaimed and blasted him down.


The Super Skrull kept dodging and kicking the half-Kree woman. Carol felt being blown away, but she retaliated by holding the legs and crushing the Skrull's bones as he screamed in pain. The other green skinned people widened their eyes in fear and thought of running away. Carol glared at them and quickly flew in front of her enemies.


" What's the matter, guys? Can't run away?! "


" No, we retreat! " the other Skrull terrifyingly replied. 

   Carol gave them a bright photon blast from her light soul energy as they got stunned. The leader of the Skrull pirates took his blaster gun and attempted to target her. Then, she blasted it and indignantly stared at him.


" A-all right, " he shakingly said. " I-I'm g-going to stop this mess! "


" LIAR! " 

 The leader of the Skrulls ran away, but Carol instantly blocked him and gave a hard punch on his gut. Then, she left him and turned to the captives inside the cells. They were crying for help when she blasted the cells and let the captives free. The people happily beamed and surrounded her. Carol blushed harder and laughed when she heard them thanking her in different languages.



" Okay, okay, guys, " she nervously smiled and said when the others behaved and paid attention. " Let's settle down, We're getting out of here! "

  The young Kree girl pointed at the cargo area where the slaves were being transported. The crowd of people murmured as Carol understood and guided them to that place. Finally, they found an emergency fleet where the captives entered. The half-Kree woman assisted them in leaving the space fleet by flying it. The crowd were free once again from the captives. 

" Carol, this is Rhodey! " a loud male voice called her. " We got a situation here in New York City! An army of lizards and blue or pinks skins had come to invade and infiltrate! We need you right now to stop it! Come here before it's too late! "


" Rhodey, I just rescued a population of supposed slaves, " she replied. " I'm taking them to Xandar, then I'll go quickly as I can! "


" Just do it, Carol! Hurry! "

" Copy that! " 

(FIFTY YEARS LATER: Rouen, France, 10:45 AM)

" After that, I just brought those people in Xandar, " the elderly half-Kree woman continued. " Then, I quickly headed to planet Earth and saw the invasion had just begun. "


" Just like you lost your boyfriend from your dream? " her son asked.


" Yes, but it's not just a dream, " she sadly sighed and looked at the window. " It's a memory when I saw and carried him on my arms. He was dying when the others struggled to fight back. "


The Kree-Lizard boy heavily sighed and bowed his head as his mother saw his expression. He understood how painful it was to lose someone who loved him dearly. Instantly, he finished his drink before he began to reply.


" I'm sorry for that loss, Mom. " he calmly spoke. " It's really painful to see how you lost someone. "


" I knew that, Kid. " she nodded. " That's why I don't want to lose anyone again, including you. "


" You'll protect me, mother. I knew you will. "


" Of course, Kid, " she smiled and changed the topic. " By the way just to lighten up, I'm thinking to have a mother and son date to Paris. "


" Paris? "


" Yeah, the city of Lights? Have you been there? "


" No, some people told me, it's dangerous to go there, " he said and held his mother's hand as he straightly looked at her. " But I'm very confident to protect me, whatever happens. "


Carol sensed danger and fear which she could not express. She slightly smiled back and nodded, " Of course, Kid. Are you ready to go there? "


" Yes, mother. "
