Arabella's POV

Charlotte wanted to show us a project she was working on and Henry and I were busy making out while she was finishing it. I was sitting on his lap at the monitor and we've been making out for a few minutes. We make out very often, but I'm not complaining.

Henry and I pulled away and he smiled at me. "You're a great kisser."

"I know." I say and I connect our lips again.

"Okay, I'm here, what's up?"

Henry and I pull away when we see my dad and Schwoz walk out.

"Oh, Charlotte wants to show us the new project she made for The Gizmo Show." Henry tells my dad, lightly massaging my back.

"Gizmo Show?" My dad asked us.

"What's a Gizmo Show?" Schwoz asked us and I got up from Henry's lap.

Henry stood up and followed me over to my dad and Schwoz. "Oh, it's this huge competition they have every year where kids bring all kinds of cool machines and inventions they made and they show it to the..." Henry trailed off when Schwoz began yawning. "I'm sorry, was I boring you?"

"Yah, a little bit." Schwoz remarked.

"Okay." Henry said and I rubbed his back.

"No, he's just tired because he hasn't slept in two days." My dad reasoned.

"Yeah, but Henry was also being boring." Schwoz mentioned and I giggled, earning a nudge from Henry.

"True." My dad nodded and Schwoz walked by us, yawning.

"Why hasn't Schwoz slept in two days?" Henry asked.

"Cuz he was binge watching that mini series about OJ." I tell Henry.

"Mmm, the one about the big trial from the nineties?" Henry questioned.

"No." Schwoz denied.

"The one about orange juice." My dad told Henry.

"Yeah it's called "OJ: From Farm To Glass."' Schwoz informed.

"Hey, have you seen the episode yet about how they remove the pulp-"

"Shhhh! No spoilers!" Schwoz exclaimed, covering his ears.

The elevator doors open and Jasper walks in. "Is it time to see Charlotte's thing yet?"

"Jasper!" Henry and I exclaim.

"You're supposed to be upstairs in Junk-N-Stuff, working." My dad informed Jasper.

"Yeah, dude, what if a customer walks in?" I asked Jasper.

"Oh, it's okay, I left a sign saying: 'Be Right Back."' Jasper reasoned.

"And hello!" We all turned to see Charlotte had emerged from the large tarp covering her project. "As some of you know, for the last three years at The Gizmo Show, my projects have won second place prize."

"Okay."

"All right."

"So interesting."

Schwoz yawned and Henry wrapped his arm around me.

"But this is the year that Charlotte goes number one." Charlotte declared and my dad snickered.

"So you're gonna pee?" My dad asked and we all began to laugh.

"She's going pee! Hahah!"

Our laughter dies down, when we see Charlotte glaring at us heavily.

"I call my project..." She raced over and pulled the tarp off her project. It was a large machine with a hula dancer attached to it. "The Scream Machine."

We stood there not knowing what to do and Charlotte frowned. "Please clap."

We all clapped for her invention and she continued. "Now, as we all know, the future of our planet depends on finding new ways to create clean, renewable energy. But where will our energy come from?"

I raised my hand. "The sun?"

"No.

"France." Henry stated.

"No."

"Energy balls." My dad commented.

"Wrong."

"Orange juice." Schwoz said.

"Dang it."

"Double-A batteries!" Jasper beamed.

"Shut up!!!" Charlotte yelled

"As you're about to see, my scream machine creates energy from sound."

"Ooo, fun."

"Sounds interesting."

"What she mean sound?"

"I like batteries."

"Jasper over here please." Charlotte called and Jasper walked over to her.

"Ooooo." We all said and I chuckled.

"Busted!" My dad laughed.

"Put that mask over your mouth." Charlotte instructed him and Jasper put the mask over his mouth.

"Ooo, a mask!" Jasper smiled.

"Now, watch as I take the Shock Rod that Schwoz made and do this." Charlotte and shocked Jasper with the rod. Jasper began to scream in pain, but his screaming made the invention activate and the hula dancer began to spin as music played.

Impressive.

Charlotte stopped shocking Jasper and he cried in pain grabbing his arm.

"Whoa, what made it work like that?" Henry asked as we investigated the invention.

"Sound!" Charlotte smiled. "See, when Jasper screamed these magnetic modules converted the sound vibrations into energy, which this kinetic transformer turned into electricity, which made this hula girl dance!"

"Oopa!" Schwoz said.

"Dang!" I chuckled.

"Wow." Henry smiles.

"That's fantastic." My dad mentioned.

"But why'd you have to rod shock me?" Jasper asked Charlotte.

"For science!" Charlotte answered, rubbing his arm.

"W-w-wait, so when someone makes sound into this thing, how much electricity can it create?" Henry asked Charlotte, looping his arm around my shoulders.

"It depends on how loud the sound is, and how long the sound lasts." Charlotte explained.

"Ooo, I want to try something!" Schwoz beamed and we didn't like his idea.

"Uh, you don't need to try something!" Charlotte protested, but Schwoz shoved her away.

"That's probably not a good idea." I state and I see Schwoz take out an air horn.

Oh no.

"Schwoz, what are you gonna do with that air horn?" Charlotte asked him, but Schwoz blew the air horn into the mask. The hula girl spun around like crazy and my dad smiled as the rest of us covered our ears.

"Yeah! Hula! Hula! Hula!"

"Schwoz!" Charlotte yelled and I felt Henry wrap his arms around me, moving me away from the machine.

"Schwoz, stop!" Henry yelled and I gripped Henry's arms

"Stop, why?! Look how the hula girl is-"

The hula girl exploded and we all fell to the ground with the pieces of the hula girl landed everywhere.

The invention short circuited and Henry covered my head with his hands as I yelped. We sat up and we saw the invention had caught on fire and Henry and my dad stood up, alarmed. They ran over, grabbed two fire extinguishers and put out the fire with the extinguishers

The rest of us stood up and right then the machine fell to the ground, burnt up and destroyed. Henry and my dad gave it one last spray and we see Charlotte was speechless and was furious..

"Don't blame yourselfs." Schwoz tells her and she seemed like she had steam coming out her ears.

"Four months! I worked on that project for four months!" Charlotte yelled as she beat up Schwoz for destroying her project. My dad, Henry, and I just sat there for most of the time and let Charlotte do her thing.

She has every right to be angry at Schwoz.

Eventually, we walked over and moved Charlotte away from Schwoz.

"All right, Charlotte."

"That's enough."

Schwoz stood up and they both charged at one another, but we held Charlotte back and I stood in front of Schwoz.

"Woah, woah!" We yell.

"Stop." I say and pat Schwoz's shoulders.

Charlotte marches forward. "I was finally gonna win first place at The Gizmo Show! Finally! But Schwoz has to go wreck my Scream Machine and ruin my chances!"

"Look, just calm down." Henry assures her.

"Hey!" She snapped. "Never tell a woman to calm down!"

"I'm sorry, I was just trying to-"

"Never tell a woman to calm down." She repeated, sternly.

"Okay." Henry nodded.

"Say it with me." Charlotte said and grabbed his chin.

"Never tell a woman to calm down!"

"You get it?!"

"Yes, I promise!"

"Charlotte, this really isn't the disaster you think it is." My dad remarked to her.

"But, the Gizmo show is on Monday and look what Schwoz did to my project." Charlotte protested, walking up to him.

"Okay, but Schwoz is a scientific genius and he has all weekend to rebuild your Scream Machine, which he will." I explain.

"Nooooo! This weekend I'm supposed to get my colonoscopy!" Schwoz objected.

"Reschedule it!" I scold him and he leans back.

"I'll just reschedule it!" He mocked and I rolled my eyes.

"But the rules say that ever kid has to create their own gizmo without help from a parent or any other adult." Charlotte reasoned. "It has to be my work."

"It is your work." My dad retorted.

"Uh, yeah, see, Schwoz is just gonna recreate the project your made. Okay?" Henry explained to Charlotte.

"Okay." My dad and Henry repeated.

Charlotte groans. "I guess so."

"All right, then we're all good." My dad smiled. "Schwoz, now it's up to you to make sure you get- Oh my god, this guy!"

Schwoz had fallen asleep and I sighed.

"Are you serious?" Henry asked.

"Oh my god, all right." I walked over and grabbed the air horn. "I got this." I turned my head away, plugged my left ear, and blew the air horn in Schwoz's ear.

He woke up, screaming and fell to the floor in fear.

"Oh! Augh!" He stood up, frantically. "Who did that?!"

"None a'your business!" Charlotte snapped.

"Okay, good, good for you." Schwoz grinned, leaning back with fear. "Don't calm down."

Charlotte glared at me and I tossed the air horn behind me.

"The Gizmo Show judging will begin momentarily, so prepare to be judged. Good luck."

Charlotte, Jasper, and I were at the Gizmo show and it was a crazy event. So many cool inventions were here, like this dude with a pancake flipper. Quite amazing.

The only issue is that Charlotte didn't have her project and she was freaking out. My dad, Henry, and Schwoz have not arrived yet with her finished project. I know something's up, because Henry was being awkward around me when I saw him earlier. I'm usually the awkward one in the relationship.

"Oh, man! The judges only have two more projects to score, and then I'm next!" Charlotte panicked.

"Hey, look it." Jasper said and showed us his phone.

"What is that?" I asked him.

"I took pics of us then swapped out faces." He explained and I see all of our faces swapped in the selfie we took earlier. Charlotte has mine, I have Jasper's, and Jasper has Charlottes's.

"I think we look kinda hot." Jasper mentioned and I rolled my eyes.

"Jasper!" Charlotte exclaimed. "Look at my project table."

Jasper was confused and touched the table. "What? Is it wobbly?"

"It's empty!" Charlotte yelled, smacking his butt.

"Where's Schwoz with your project?!" I asked with panic.

"And Piper Hart's project gets a score of: three."

Poor Piper, she worked so hard on her sad, little volcano.

The door burst open and I see my dad, Henry, and Schwoz running in with a large object with a tarp on it in a wagon.

"Ooh, here they come!" I gasp, hitting Jasper's chest.

"Here they are!" Charlotte beamed with excitement. "Here they come!"

"Heyyy!" Jasper yelled, touching his chest. "I'm tender here."

I ignored Jasper and watched the boys rush over to us.

"Where have you guys been?!" I asked them as I hugged Henry.

"We got here as fast as we could." Henry remarked, breathing heavily and pecked my cheek.

"We wanted to stop and get ice creams." Schwoz added.

"But Henry wouldn't let us."

"Okay. We'll get ice creams later." Henry agreed and I smiled.

"Me too?"

"Yes, baby."

"Yay." I smile.

"Oh, man, here come the judges! Quick move that table, so we can put my Scream Machine there!" Charlotte rushed us and Henry, Schwoz, and Jasper moves the table while my dad and I rolled the project back.

My dad took off the tarp and it wasn't Charlotte's project. I'll just say that.

"What? Where is my project? What is that?!" Charlotte exclaimed with panic and worry.

"Okay, listen, listen, listen." Henry tells Charlotte in a low voice, wrapping an arm around her neck. "I gotta tell you something. We lost your plans to the Scream Machine."

"You lost them!" Charlotte yelled and Henry, Schwoz, and my dad shushed her.

"Okay, never tell a woman to 'shhhh"' Charlotte snapped.

"Okay."

"So sorry."

"So many rules." Schwoz commented.

"Look, Schwoz tried for recreate your Scream Machine..."

"But without the plans he couldn't get it to work in time." My dad finished for Henry.

"Well, what the Jack is that thing?!" Charlotte asked.

"It's a little project that I've been working on, so I finished it for you." Schwoz smiled.

"Well, I can't pretend I made this." Charlotte protested.

"Yeah, sure you can. See, it's got your little disco ball, from the other one, remember this one?" Henry smiles nervously, playing with the small disco ball on the machine.

Charlotte snatches the disco ball and tosses it away.

My dad shrieked in shock at this.

"This isn't my work. I don't know what it does!" Charlotte mentioned.

"Okay, look, what the machine does. I don't really know what to does-"

Schwoz came over to help, but the judges came over to interview Charlotte.

"Okay, next." The woman said and we pushed Charlotte forward. "Ah, yes. Here we have a young lady who's no stranger to second-place ribbons. How are you, Charlotte?"

"Oh, y'know...good." She replied nervously. "Little nauseous."

"Great. You wanna tell us about your project?" The woman asked her.

"I'd rather not." Charlotte remarked.

"Okaay. Well then, would you like to demonstrate your gizmo?" The woman asked her.

"Yeah, okay." Charlotte said.

"Yeah, cuz like, what else would she do?" My dad joked. "Not demonstrate it."

I sighed as he laughed and pulled my father back.

"Good one." Henry said with an eye roll.

"All right, Charlotte, what does your Gizmo do?" The woman asked her.

"Uh, well...I should start by...uh." Charlotte trailed off, unsure what to do next and looked at Schwoz. Henry gestured to the yellow remote and Charlotte picked it up. "Turning it on and to do that I just..." She trailed off again. "Push this..."

The boys pretended to cough the word 'no' and she corrected herself.

"I mean, I pull this..."

They coughed the word 'no' again.

"Actually, I turn this knob!"

This time, they coughed the word 'yes' and she turned the knob, turning the machine on. The tubes on the machine lit up a very bright blue.

"And next...I, uh..."

"Tap the screen!" The boys coughed to her.

"I tap the screen!" Charlotte said and tapped the screen on the remote.

"You might wanna move." Henry advised me and pulled me back to his chest.

"Why-"

I got caught off when the machine shot a laser and it hit Jasper. His body slowly vanished into the machine and everyone gasped and I looked up at Henry with shock. The machine turned to the other side of the room and shot the laser again, making Jasper appear.

"Woah." I muttered as everyone else gasped with shock.

Jasper turned around with confusion. "Wasn't I just over there?"

"Good lord! Did your device just transport that boy from there to there?" The woman asked with shock.

"Y-yeah, seems so. Heh hehe." Charlotte laughed nervously.

"Should we just stop this competition now?" The woman asked. "Because Charlotte's device isn't just the best gizmo at this show. This is mankind's most impressive invention of all time!"

We all cheered and applauded for Charlotte, even though this was really Schwoz's amazing invention.

"No, no, no, no, it's not so great!" Charlotte called and gestured to another device. "Look at that pancake flipper!"

We turned to see a girl with a pancake flipper that got a score of forty-six.

"I wish I'd thought of that." Charlotte scoffed.

"Are you kidding?" The woman asked her. "You've created instant teleportation. This technology could end the need for cars, airplanes, shipping. It could help preserve the Earth's entire ecosystem. Charlotte, you're going to be the most famous person on this planet."

"Someone call the government!" A man shouted.

"Call Fox News!"

"She's gonna win the Nobel Prize!"

"Yeah! Take that, China!" My dad laughs.

"Well, Charlotte,  you must be very proud that-" The woman paused when we noticed Charlotte was gone. "Where'd she go?"

We looked around for her until Jasper found her.

"Oh, there she is! Hiding under that table!"

We all began to laugh and smile as a man pulled Charlotte out from under the table. A man lifted her up onto his shoulder and we began to chant Charlotte's name.

"Charlotte! Charlotte! Charlotte! Charlotte!"

Charlotte seemed to have enough and stopped us. "Okay, thank you! I need to get down now!" The man let her down and Charlotte gestured us over to her; She led us over to a giant box

"Hey, kid, what's this thing you built?" She asked the boy.

"It's a soundproof booth."

"Cool. In here." Charlotte opened the door and we walked inside, ignoring the kids protest.

"Get out!" The kid cried, but I opened the door and shot him with my laser on my watch, making him pass out.

"That's my gizmo." I smirked and shut the door, chuckling.

"All right, I need you guys to listen!" Charlotte told us all.

"I know what you're going to say, so...you're welcome!" Schwoz smiled.

"I'm not welcome!" She snapped. "Everyone out there thinks I'm some kind of scientific genius who just created the most important invention in the history of the world!"

"Once again, you're welcome." Schwoz repeated and Charlotte grabbed his nose, slapping it.

"Owie!" Schwoz cries, grabbing his nose.

"People are calling the government, and Fox News!"

"So?" Schwoz asked.

"They're fair." My dad says.

"And balanced." Henry added.

"Oh, and what happens when they wanna know everything about me?" Charlotte asked us. "People are gonna find out that I work at Junk-N-Stuff, and then reporters are gonna come poking around, wanting to talk to me and then how long before they figure out that's where Captain Man and Kid Danger work?!?"

All five of us groaned in realization.

"Oh this is bad." I groan against Henry's shoulder.

"She's right, this a problem. We need to make it go away." My dad said.

"How? I mean, everyone out there just saw her device work!" Henry reasoned.

"Then we need to get rid of it." I declare, lifting my head up.

"My machine?" Schwoz asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, your machine!" I mocked, using his voice.

"Okay, babe, there's like a billion people out there." Henry told me. "How are we gonna get rid of it?"

"Easy. All we need is a plan." My dad remarked and we all turned to him, waiting for him to tell us his plan.

"Which is?" Henry asked my dad when he didn't tell us his plan.

"I don't know, Henry. Isn't it enough that I've pointed out that a plan is what we need?" My dad bitterly retorted.

"No, not really!" Henry exclaimed.

"I have an idea!" Charlotte chirped.

"Is it a plan?" My dad asked.

"Yes."

"Ha." My dad laughed and Henry rolled his eyes.

"All we need is Captain Man, Kid Danger, a criminal, and-"

"If you call me the damsel in distress, I pull out your curls and make you shallow them." I threaten her and all the boys gasped.

"Ooooo."

"Feisty." Henry smirked and I glared at him.

"Nevermind!" She laughs nervously, petting her curls.

"So, you want me to be a criminal?" Jasper asked Charlotte.

"Yeah, will you?" Charlotte asked.

"Do I have to whack someone?"

"No."

"I'll do it anyway!" Jasper beamed.

"Good, come on." Charlotte said and we huddled together to discuss the plan.

Our plan was in full swing and my dad, Henry, and Jasper all left to get ready and Charlotte was now being bombarded by reporters and it was extremely overwhelming. I would have panic attacks if I was Charlotte.

I just stood off to the side and listened.

"Charlotte! Charlotte!" A man called and interfered the chaos. "Excuse me, excuse me! This is State Senator, Jack Rothwell! He wants to ask you some questions about your invention!"

Wow. This is getting big, where is Jasper?

"Oh, okay..." Charlotte said. "But I'm not sure if-"

"Ooo, Charlotte! Two FBI agents are on the way, they want to ask you a lot of questions." The same woman as before told Charlotte while on the phone.

People continued to bombard Charlotte with questions and I was getting a headache just listening and watching it.

I saw Schwoz walk away and signaled to my dad and Henry that they are good to go. I gave Henry a nod and he winked at me.

Right then, the doors burst open and Jasper ran in wearing a ridiculous costume.

"Ahhhhh!" Jasper yelled and everyone gasped, moving back. "Quick! They're after me! I need a place to hide!"

"Ahhhh! It's the bad guy!" I fake cried, running up to Schwoz.

"Somebody do something!" Schwoz yelled.

My dad and Henry ran out in their uniforms and everyone got excited.

"I'll do something!" My dad declared.

"And I'll do something, also." Henry repeated.

"Dad, look! It's Captain Man and Kid Danger!" Piper beamed and we all cheered and clapped for the superhero duo.

Jasper leaned down to us. "What do I do now?"

"Run to Charlotte's table." I advised him.

"Right." Jasper said and looked up. "Ha! These two can't stop me!" Jasper soaked Schwoz in the face and I shrieked as the crowd gasped.

"Ohhhhh!"

I knelt down to Schwoz and patted his back.

"You're okay."

"Uh, hold it right there." My dad called.

"No, I'm not holding it anywhere!" Jasper exclaimed and ran over to the project. "Ahhhh!"

My dad and Henry followed him and they surrounded the project.

"Sir, I urge you to give up!" Henry warned.

"Eat feet!" Jasper snapped and everyone gasped.

"Okay, that does it." Henry glared at him.

"Let's get him!" My dad announced and they yelled, going to to tackle Jasper, but they landed on the project instead. Everyone gasped in horror as the project got smashed.

"Charlotte's gizmo!" The woman cried.

My dad and Henry got up and pretended to fight Jasper, while trying their best to crumble and crush the project into pieces. It was the oddest fight I've ever seen.

I pulled Schwoz up to his feet and he groaned. "Why did he hit me so hard?"

I let go of Schwoz and ran over to Charlotte and we gave each other a look of amusement.

Eventually, my dad and Henry grabbed Jasper and pulled him to his feet.

"All right, punk! Next stop for you..." My dad declared.

"Jail!" Henry finished.

"No, I hate jail!" Jasper cried and they walked out of the room. I slowly followed behind them without making it noticeable.

"Over your shoulder you know that I told ya. I'll always be picking you up when you're down! So just turn around!" We all we're singing the Drake and Josh theme song as we drove home and we were eating ice cream.

"Oooooohhhhheeee!" Schwoz finishes and I giggle when Henry put his arm around my shoulders.

"Charlotte, will you hold this for a second?" My dad asked Charlotte and she took his ice cream cone.

"Yeah."

My dad unbuckles his seatbelt and I was confused.

"Wait, what-"

I gasped when my dad opened his door and jumps out of the car. We all began to panic and freak out and I had to grab the wheel to keep it from swerving.

"Ahhh! My ice cream! It spilled!" I cried as I tried my best to keep the car steady and we continued to freak out as we drove home.

Let's hope we don't get pulled over.
