Chapter 4: Secret Siblings
Everyone stood in shock, relief, and confusion when they saw Germany. What was he doing walking about in the middle of the city? And wasn't there something different about him? Katrina didn't seem to notice anything off about her Father. She was just glad to see him okay. The teen ran over to her Father and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Thank goodness you're okay Vati," she muttered into his shirt before looking up at him.
Germany didn't respond. He just look at Katrina with his pupil-less eyes. All that was there was a sea of blue.
"Vati? Are you all right?"
The German just stared at Katrina emotionless as the orders of Sylvia bounced around in his head; Get rid of the capitals. Get rid of the capitals. Before Katrina had time to react, Germany wrapped his hand around Katrina's neck and held her above the ground. She felt the breath leaving her body as she dangled in the air.
"Vati...stop," Katrina chocked.
Germany didn't respond. He couldn't even hear his daughter's pleas to stop. He just heard the orders of Sylvia.
"Kat!" Aurel cried as he ran to his younger cousin's aid. Of course he was terrified by his Uncle's strength, but he didn't have time to think about that. Katrina didn't have much time. Aurel swung his fist towards Germany's face and made contact with his cheek. Germany didn't even flinch. "Vhat the-?"
Then Germany elbowed Aurel in the stomach, causing him to drop to his knees in pain. Then he was smacked away by Germany. He was practically tossing Aurel around like he was a rag doll while holding Katrina in a choke hold. Of course the others didn't just stand by while all this was going on. They tried to free Katrina from Germany's grasp but found it impossible. As everyone laid on the ground, Katrina started losing consciousness. "...Vati," Katrina whispered as she began to sink into unconsciousness.
"We've got to do something or Katrina's toast!" Amanda shouted.
That's when Amelia noticed Fredrick getting right behind Germany. From where she was, Amelia swore that she saw Fredrick's hand glow. He then gave Germany a karate chop to the back of his neck. At first, nothing happened. Then the tall German fell to the ground, loosening his grip on Katrina's throat so that she could get free. She gasped for big gulps of air and the others quickly ran to her side.
"Are you okay Katrina?!" Rose asked as she helped Katrina to her feet.
"Ja, I'm all right," Katrina replied as she got up.
"What the heck was up with Germany?" Amanda questioned.
"He was under Sylvia's control," Frederick answered. "He's unconscious, for now. We need to get going."
"You sure ve can just leave him here?" Katrina asked in concern.
"He'll be fine," Frederick insisted. "Once we beat Sylvia, he will no longer be under her control. It's best to leave him here for now, you know, just in case he wakes back up."
Katrina looked at her unconscious Father and then at Frederick. He seemed to know what he was talking about but at the same time she couldn't help but doubt him. After a long internal debate with herself, Katrina agreed to what Frederick said but not before sitting Germany up against a car and following the others.
Frederick walked ahead of the others, feeling that he had to lead the group. No one questioned him. He just wanted to get this over; he just wanted to get this whole thing behind him and stop his sister from going through with this radical idea of hers. Amelia noticed Frederick was in deep thought and went up to talk to him. "So you're positive that Germany will be all right?" Amelia asked Frederick as they walked, trying to get him to say something to her.
Frederick nodded. "Yes. I've dealt with Sylvia before; once we beat her, your friend will be free."
"...You sure know a lot about Sylvia. How do you know her?" Amelia questioned.
Frederick was silent. He stared at the path ahead of him, trying to act like he had not heard Amelia's question. Still, he felt that he could freely talk to her like he had known her all of his life. "......Sylvia's my sister," He told her, looking down at the ground.
Amelia gasped but the others didn't hear her or what Frederick had said.
"Shh." He shushed her. "Don't tell the others. I feel like they will judge me for it and they will say I will not fight to my full potential because she's my sister."
Amelia glanced back at the others from the corner of her eyes and then at Frederick. Should she really keep this from them? It felt wrong but at the same time she thought that Frederick deserved as much respect as they did. "All right, I won't tell."
"Thank you."
**********
At the meeting hall, Sylvia was in an angered state. She paced the room after she found out that Germany had been knocked unconscious. How could the capitals have beaten Germany? There was just no way that was possible. "Those fools could not beat him! There's no way!" Sylvia stated as she paced the room. She then realized how it could've been done; her brother. "Why that no good-! He can't stay out of other people's business!"
Sylvia growled in anger and punched a wall, trying to let out her frustration. Once her anger had passed, Sylvia huffed and puffed and tried to clear her head. Then she chuckled. "Well played brother. I will admit that I did not expect this...However, this is just like a game of chess. You've made your move, but now I shall make mine."
What's Sylvia planning to do? We'll have to find out and see.
