Dreamtalia Pt. 10
"Woah, woah, woah," Amanda interrupted. "We should head North."
"North?" Amelia huffed. "Prepostrious. We need to go South."
"What if someone's trapped up North?"
"South would be faster."
"North!"
"South!"
"North!"
"South!"
The other capitals watched as the two argued back and forth over which directon to go. It was really ridiculous. Rose gulped as she watched them fight. Every second that was being wasted arguing was precious time they could've been using to save everyone. She was about to say something when Naomi used her skills of negotiating to calm everyone down; "If we are going to argue about where to go, maybe we shourd sprit up."
"Fine by me," Amanda nodded as she began to walk away. "I'm fine with going-"
She was cut off by the sound of the ground cracking. Amanda looked down just as the ground gave out from underneath her and she fell down hole in the ground.
"Amanda!" Everyone shouted, running towards the hole Amanda had fallen through.
"Amanda, are you all right?" Emma called out into the hole her cousin had fallen through.
It was silent for a moment until Amanda groaned. "I'm okay. Can someone bring some light down here?"
"Hold on a moment," Chen said. She reached into her pocket and found a flashlight that was there and turned it on to reveal Amanda at the bottom of the hole, rubbing her head. As the light shined down on them, the group noticed that there were torches on the walls of the cave Amanda had fallen into. They all climbed down into the cave and Amelia used her magic to light the torches so the cave was lit. As each one was lit, the girls noticed that there were two directions that the caves went off of; north and south. "Ai-yah, look at this."
"This is perfect, da?" Natie pointed out. "Now we can go our seperate ways."
"Well I'm going North," Amanda stated proudly. "Anyone who wants to come with me can."
"I'll go with you Amanda," Allison stated.
"I sharr go as werr," Naomi added.
"I-I'll go since Allison is going," Noa stuttered.
"I will accompany you as well aru," Chen said.
"All right then, everyone else will come with me South," Amelia explained.
Emma, Natie, and Rose nodded in agreement.
Soon, the two groups split and went in their directions to see what they could find.
**********
The group heading south began shivering from the cold, except for Natie and Emma. "W-W-Why is it so cold?" Rose shivered.
"It's not that cold," Natie plainly stated. "This is warm for me."
"It's not warm," Emma whisper-spoke. "But it's not cold either."
As they walked through the cave, Amelia noticed the small patches of ice that were here amd there. At first, she didn't think much of it until she saw that they were getting bigger and bigger and the temperature was getting colder and colder. What is this? She wondered.
Suddenly, the ground became very slippery and Amelia had a hard time keeping her balance, causing her to slip and slide on the icey ground. The other girls also began slipping up a bit until they reached what they believed was the end of the cave but was in fact a ledge that moved down to what appeared to be an ice slide. They slipped and fell down the slide and slid down it for a while. Amelia, Emma and Rose screamed as they went down the slide but Natie was quite fine.
When the slide finally ended, the girls were flung into the air until they landed into a pile of fresh snow that softened the landing. They each popped out from the snow pile one-by-one. "That was fun, da?" Natie asked with a smile.
"If not a bit death-defiying." Amelia huffed as she wiped the snow off of herself.
"Now where are we?" Emma asked as she slid down the snowhill.
As they looked around, Rose gasped at what she found. "Guys, look at this!" She called out.
Everyone turned to look at where she was talking about and found that there was a huge ice castle not too far away. There was so much detail, like it was the world's largest ice sculpture. The four children were starting to forget their coldness as they stared at the masterpiece.
"It's so beautiful," Emma commented.
"It's amazing," Natie added.
"Absolutely marvelous," Amelia added as well.
"It reminds me of Elsa's castle~," Rose giggled, making the other girls stare at her. "What?"
"Nevermind," Amelia told her. "Let's focus; someone must be trapped in a fake reality here. We need to be on our guard in case the creature decides to pay us a visit."
The other girls nodded as Amelia pushed the front door open. Inside was a fully furnished castle that looked so cozy. "This is amazing. I wonder who's trapped here," Emma wondered as she looked at the decorated walls.
"Obviously someone who likes ice, da?"
As the girls walked the hallways, Amelia felt that something was off. She would glance at the furniture every now and again as if she expected it to come to life and attack. Of course that was a ridiculous notion but they were in a dreamworld afterall. Anything was possible.
Just as they made it to the next floor, the girls ducked when a candlestick came flying at them. "What was that?!"
"A candlestick," Amelia explained. "The furniture must be enchanted."
"Enchanted?!"
Suddenly, more furniture came to life and chased the girls around. They ran up a few flights of stairs before escaping into a room that had two suits of armor and paintings on the wall. "W-Why was the furniture chasing us?" Rose panted.
"That must've been the guard of sorts. They must keep intruders out."
"They seem to be good at their job, eh?" Emma said. The little Canadian then looked over to the paintings on the wall. She walked over to them and then gasped at what she saw; "You guys! I know who's trapped here!"
The three girls looked at Emma with shock and confusion. "You do Emma?" Natie asked.
Emma simply nodded. "Yes. Come look at the paintings," She and and the others looked up at the first painting and Amelia gasped at what she saw; in the painting were a younger America, Britain, Canada, and France. Underneath the painting was a description that read Back when he was a child, he was blessed with others around him.
"So you think it's-" Amelia began.
"Pa." Emma finished with a nod. "Yes, I know it's him." From the look on her face, the girls could tell that Emma was glad but at the same time confused.
As they looked at all the paintings, the girls saw how Canada was forgotten by everyone he knew. Then they came to a painting that made Emma stop in her tracks; in a painting, it looked to be Emma in it with Canada. They both were standing next to each other with smiles on their faces. He even had his own child who loved him very much.
The next painting broke her heart; it had Emma walking away from Canada. But even she grew up and left him behind, It read at the bottom.
Tears gathered in her eyes. Is that how Pa really feels? Emma thought as she looked at the painting. But, that's not true.
"Emma? Are you okay?" Rose asked as she watched Emma look off into space.
The young Canadian nodded, quickly wiping away her tears before turning to look at Rose. "I'm fine Rose, really."
"Okay, so this is Canada's realm," Amelia looked at the rest of the paintings and then at the door. She leaned in to see there was another lock that required a password. "Looks like this needs a password like Noa's did."
"What does it say?" Natie asked.
It read Who's the one I hold dearest to my heart?
"Brother." Emma simply said. "Try that."
Amelia nodded and put in the password into the keypad. After hitting enter, the door clicked opened and led to the room. Inside were trinkets and many different items that looked to be all over the place. However, what really got their attention was the hole in the floor that led down to what appeared to be a cave.
