Now her heart truly was hammering, in fact, it seemed to make a guest-star appearance in her throat as it practically lurched through her chest. All that could be saw of her was her brown hair that flung about her back as she ran and her purple light up trainers that seemed to guide her in the dark crowd as all lights cut off. The finale. Oh lord, was fate planning for this to happen? That creature managing to successfully kill her as all gazes are on the stage as only one light illuminates the main artist?
Why hadn't her friends, Megan and Lily been able to see it? The 'thing' was directly behind her after all, and what about the people behind her, had they all been blind? No course not, they couldn't see it. That would explain the looks of confusion and lack of terror as Blair set of sprinting through the oblivious crowd with the horrendous creature pouncing after her.
Fans didn't even seem to react as she pushed her way through, instead just shooting her a dirty glare before reciting to ogle at the artist on stage with heart shaped eyes.
Her lungs seemed to burn for a rest, but it was either rest and potentially die...or put some distance between herself and that thing in hopes of escaping. Chances of that happening however seemed slim as a big, impenetrable crowd formed before Blair yet an opening appeared before the creature.
The brunette stumbled over her own feet, her legs hitting and scraping across the concrete floor as she beast now towered over her with a thirty look in its beady eyes. Raising its abnormally long arm, it swung it down towards Blair, successfully landing a slash to her right collar bone and snapping the lace of the necklace around her neck.
A silent cry slipped her lips, throwing her legs out in a form of adrenaline dukes defence which sent the creature backwards and gave her enough time to make some sort of escape. Once again, fate seemed to have it in for her as one she stepped out of the arenas doors, her body slammed into another's which sent her flying backwards.
Blair looked up in annoyance and fear, finding an a rather tall black haired lad to have his back to her before pivoting on his heel and looking at her.
She didn't spare him the apology though, she didn't have the time, not when death was chasing her down.
So, the brunette scampered back onto her feet, casting him one last look before running off once more.
"Sorry!" She had called out, hearing the distinct sound of the arena door slamming open once more as the creature exploded into the foyer and snarled once she was locked onto its sight.
It seemed to be able to pick up more pace now with the lack of other bodies around, so it didn't take it long for the creature to corner Blair in a corner. Her crumpled body crushed into said corner as the beast snarled down at her whilst closing in.
It was about to take a bite when suddenly all she saw was a glowing blade sticking out of its head before disintegrating into nothing. The boy from earlier stood over her, a small blonde and a female soon after running to either of his sides, all three of them holding matching, glowing blades.
"What was that? Who are you people?" She questioned wearily, stumbling to her shaky feet and holding onto the wall for support.
"Wait, you can see us?" The blonde questioned in astonishment, looking down at her with wide eyes as she scanned over his face.
"Uh...yeah?" Blair drawled, running a hand through her hair before wincing as an excruciating pain spiralled through her collar bone. "You gonna answer my questions?"
"That thing was a Ravener Demon, and we are Shadowhunters" the blonde stated, to which Blair scoffed at in disbelief.
"Oh yeah, and I'm an angel of the lord" Blair mocked, moving her hand of the wall and attempting to step forward before ultimately collapsing into the taller ones frame (who had luckily caught her).
"It is just me...or is this room spinning?" She drawled out, dazedly looking up at the taller lads face who looked down at her with a blank face.
"We should get her to the institute"
"No way, we can't bring mundanes into the institute" the taller one retorted.
"Alec, it looks like the Ravener got a bit of her. We should take her back where we know she will be properly looked after. You and I both know the mundane hospitals don't know how to treat Ravener poison" the female finally spoke, laying a reassuring hand on said boys shoulder who stood to his feet with Blair in his arms.
"Where are we going?" Blair numbly questioned, her head lolling to the side as she looked up at the boy who she presumed to be 'Alec'.
"Somewhere safe"
All Blair remembered after that was darkness.
