Market Marker

Episode 2
Part 1

"Can we trust them?"

"What does that supposed to mean?!"

"Hey! You can't do that!"

"I won't let you go unless you take me with you."

The sound of high pitched giggles bounced off the cream walls, soon being joined by some deep chuckles. Inside the one bedroom apartment, a couple lay in their king sized bed, blankets thrown amuck the floor. Pale and peach legs entangled, seemingly unable to detach. The happiness in the form of laughter echoed throughout the entire apartment, almost like it was spreading. If anyone heard it, they would join in to the contagious noise. A female body was laid atop a males, both comfortable with the position completely. Her black hair slightly tickled the pale peach chest of her lover. A soft navy blue blanket covered their bodies, hiding the fact of them both being naked.

I walked into the RIS office room with a steaming cup of coffee only to be called over by Brandon. "Hey, look at this. Market Maker, a mysterious group that orchestrates crimes and even wars. They carry out assassinations, sabotage, an infiltration under the orders of the royal family. There's only a collective name listed. It's members' right hands are supposedly marked with a skull, but no one has actually seen it in person. It's a mysterious organization that's gone largely unnoticed." His soft blue eyes stayed focused on his laptop screen, reading the words off the red and black website. I listen intently, making notes in my head incase of emergencies, siping my coffee till it was almost empty. I nodded and pat his shoulder, "good work kid."
I walked off to grab some more coffee, when I noticed Brandon call over Kaela and told her the same thing. I walked back over, full cup of coffee now in hand, knowing that she was getting mad. "Hey Bran, Scout, we're leaving."

When we arrived to the new crime scene, I looked up at the gloomy clouded sky above the victims home. The red and blue lights of flashing police cars hurt my eyes slightly.

Seems like it's gonna rain soon.

We walked inside assemblyman Ed Kyle's mansion, immediately covering my nose from the stench. Each RIS member looked at each other with a nod, going their separate ways, attending their assigned roles. I was left behind in the dust, but quickly followed behind Boris. He handed me a pair of white gloves and a small thin flashlight and told me to look for clues. Hearing the chatter of the Royal Police Crime Lab members, was slightly entertaining to me. "Not much trace evidence."
"How's it look over there?"
"Seems to be mostly wiped down."
"Where's the Chief?"
"Saw him go upstairs a minute ago"

Rooms looked to be covered in crimson, trophies and family pictures splattered, making it hard to see behind it. A few composed laid on the floors, what was a white blanket covered them, but soaked up the blood that keep seeping out of the wounds. Blue with yellow writing jackets, maybe uniforms, wondered around the mansion. RPc was investigating bodies, wearing the same latex gloves as I was. Even though I am a detective, nicknamed Mrs. Sherlock Holmes, I'm still not entirely accustomed to the bloody crime scenes I would see daily. Yes, I was slightly squeamish, but I'm fine once I get to analyze the red liquid.

Looking around for awhile, I notice Lily flashing her light at the chocolate wood railing of the staircase. I watched her serious face with the overly pink blush on her cheeks, and giggled behind my hand. I hear a slight grunt from the doorway, turning to see a man with a black blazer, pants and shoes and an off-white buttoned shirt. His head was facing the ground, making it kind of hard for me to recognize him. Brown hair was cut close to his scalp, but was still able to be styled and messed with.
"Uh, excuse me, but what do you think you're doing? You know you can't let a civilian into an active crime scene!" Lily shouted at the RPc man at the door, who was not supposed to let anyone in that wasn't with the police. My eyes flickered between the two people, Lily and the new guy. The blue clad man tried to rebut while stuttering,"I know, but this is-- well, um..."

All three of us looking at the Mr mystery, he slowly lifted his head showing his newly slightly shaven face, round glasses, and forest green- it's Keith?! "Hey, you're doing that on purpose."

I stood shocked, amazed, and slightly impressed. But I quickly shook it off and acted annoyed, "Keith, you're late. What took you so long?"

"Sorry Jean, I had to walk here." I scoffed and crossed my arms, rolling my eyes. I looked off to the side, no longer wanting to make eye contact with the man. "Aw Scout, do you really hate me that much to look away?"

I groaned at the Keith's chuckle and walked upstairs into the blood splattered mansion. Hearing Boris start to talk to the the brunette
