Prologue

Girl's PoV
I ran, and ran, and ran. I had to get away. I felt too much... darkness.
Suddenly, it was as if I ran into a wall of trees. It was dim and dank, and the only light was from the glimmering of flowers- wait, of flowers? There was a small bloom of silver flowers beneath a soft, white tree. Then, I saw it. A person. Her back was to me, but she had purple hair, antlers, and clothes that seemed to be made out of leaves. She was holding a large green book. I ran toward her; her pointed ears twitched and she turned around. Her brown eyes widened when she saw me. Suddenly, she sprouted shimmering wings, rose up in the air, and flitted away. I sprinted after her, and every time she looked back, she would fly faster. Eventually, we reached a place: a clearing, crisscrossed with rivers, bridges, and vines; there was a large hedge surrounding an unseen area, and a large tree with a door in it next to a small room with a fireplace, a kettle, and shelves cluttered with jars, powders, and other organic materials. The fairy flew as fast as she could into the door and slammed it. I saw her looking out the window and I hid. I realized that I could see magic here: real, actual magic.
I just had to not get caught.
