Harlee walked down the stairs with Kayla trailing behind him. She was inspecting every inch or the house, her eyes intently exploring the house she had found herself in. Kayla bumped into the back of Harlee, he was not moving just staring straight ahead at his father.

"Father, Kayla is my girlfriend now and you are just going to have to deal with that."

Jace looked up at his son honestly surprised that he would talk to him like that, the idea that his son was becoming an adult was still making him panic. He was so small, and wasn't very good on his feet. He was what you would call the runt of the litter. Anika smiled at Kayla and Jace finally gave in. He walked up to Harlee who put himself more evenly in between his father and Kayla. However Jace pushed him to the side with one hand and held his other hand out for Kayla. She took his hand in hers after eyeing him for a moment. He smiled and shook her hand. "Welcome to the family."

Harlee nearly fell back in shock, was his father serious? "Your eyes are beautiful." Anika noted as Kayla got closer, Kayla thanked her and she was set at the table and Anika began setting. Kayla got up from her seat and helped Anika, the two women began to talk and hit it off instantly. Jace was dumb founded, confused beyond all measure and his anger had been replaced with jealousy. Not of Kayla, but how easily she was settling in. Out of everyone in the family how was it that Harlee got the most well behaved? Kayla soon sat back in the seat Harlee had set her and he sat down as well. Jace had walked up stairs and soon Alex was seated beside Kayla, she was between the twins. Kayla smiled at her and squeezed her hand. Soon Valery and Carter were down the stairs, Valery had obvious love bites riddled against her skin and messy hair, while Carter had a few bite marks and was breathing heavily. Harlee chuckled as Carters eyes landed on Kayla.

"Who is this?"

"Your brothers new girl, he went out and picked her himself."

"We killed a guy together, her name is Kayla."

Carter growled, this girl just comes in and takes the spotlight from his perfect girl. Valery wasn't perfect in the family's sense but to him she was. Valery got self conscious trying to hide her body from this girl, she had hopes of running when the twins got their spouses but now it seemed that chance was fleeting. Kayla however took notice of the embarrassment and attempted to turn it around. "I wish you luck on getting pregnant, Harlee told me, and I hope we can be friends." She wasn't saying it to either one of them specifically. Valery shot her a small smile, however Carter just grunted in reply as food was passed around.

"Say nothing about the meat." Carter whispered in her ear, Valery nodded.

"Oh schools back in session tomorrow." Anika said. "You know since we let you all have a break when the family took off."

The twins let out a small groan. "Do we have to? We are nearly twenty."

"You don't get out of school till you are twenty."

"Home school then right?" Kayla asked. "Because outside of this place its at 18."

"Yes." Jace just replied. "You don't have to attend classes."

"Alright, what will I do instead?"

Jace looked to Anika, his wife just smiled and gave him a nod letting him know she would take care of it. "Well you can hang out with Valery and Carter."

Carter's head shot up, he nearly chocked on potatoes. Valery attempted to hide her amused smile as he looked at his mother with death eyes. "Mom Valery and I are trying t-"

"Your dick won't fall out of your pants if you wait three hours every day." Anika snapped back. Valery lost it, she was laughing so hard she shot milk out her nose. Everyone else was laughing and Kayla thought this was a normal family and a happy life. "So Valery do you think you would like to be friends with Kayla?"

Carter gave her a look, but Anika gave him a rougher one. Valery nodded. "I think I would."

Kayla clapped her hands softly under the table, she wanted friends, at least that would distract her from why she was there. "Plus sex almost 24 hours isn't healthy. Valery let out a sigh of relief, at least she would be free for a little. Not to say she didn't enjoy the sex, but it was constant now. "Have you even checked to see if she was?"

Carter lowered his head. "No."

"Well maybe after dinner you should."

"Yes mom."

Anika smiled, Valery was still cleaning up her milk spill from before and Kayla smiled at her happily.

The next day Kayla met Valery at her door, Carter was supervising, they talked about all the latest outside world gossip. Shared makeup and hair tricks, and finally sat down back to back reading books. Carter was perplexed, the girls had known each other less than a full day and yet they spoke and acted like best friends. He sat back on his own reading from Lord of the Flies, Valery was reading Pretty Women, and Kayla was reading Gerald's Game. Soon the sound of a school bell could be heard outside.

Harlee was highly disappointed he couldn't spend his entire day with Kayla, but he knew he had to be in school to help him be a better husband. HIs father did teach classes on how to find the perfect girl or guy and how to woe them. His mother taught cooking classes, a mix between working with the meat and other practical and simple dishes, while Lia helped them learn how to cut around the bone and fat and well as other human bits and how to not waste any of the body even the bits they don't cook. Lia also taught them how to use the bones in other ways. Max taught them how to kill and the right way to slice up a body. He was brilliant with a knife and it was one of the most intense classes.

That class day was slow, they were getting back into things so they only talked. Made sure everyone knew the rules and would follow them. School was finally over and Harlee headed back to Max's room. "Hey, uncle Max." He began.

"What is it?" Max asked turning to look towards Harlee. The boy froze for a moment, the man was tall and as always terrifying. "Can I help you Harlee?" Max asked again waving his hand in front of the boy.

"Oh yeah..yea sorry can you show me how to woe a women. Have sex and stuff?"

Max began to laugh, it was a bellowed laugh and it lasted for at least two minutes. When Max was done laughing he looked to Harlee. "Okay really what is it?"

"I was serious."

Max's smile became a sliver and he cocked his head. "Sex with a women or a man?"

"Both?"

"Alright I can do that. Extra classes begin tomorrow after class got it?"

"Yes I understand sir."

"Good man." Max said slapping his back. Max smiled in intrigue as the boy went off. Classes would be interesting, and Max was ready to start teaching him.

As Harlee knocked on his brothers door Carter opened it and shook his head. "What do you mean no?" Harlee asked peeking in to see Valery and Kayla reading and laughing together.

"They are friends, and Valery likes her so you dont get to have her right now. Unless you fight me you stay out, she stays in."

"She isn't yours."

"Technically you are dating she isn't yours yet either."

"If I married her would she be?"

"Yes, but you aren't married so she stays." Carter slammed the door in his face. Carter turned back around and sat under Valery keeping the girl on his lap and waited to see if Harlee would fight back, yet he didn't. Kayla and Valery just kept talking ignoring Carter. Despite him being handsy Valery had learned to ignore him, that was when Valery jumped off his lap and ran to the bathroom. She vomited and Carter raced after her, holding back her hair.

"Is she alright?"

"Hopefully this means she is going to be carrying my baby."

Valery side eyed him angrily as she continued to vomit. "I can go get your mom."

"No no it's alright." Carter said. "Harlee did call for you though so you could probably go and see him." She nodded and headed off to do so, Valery laid down and attempted to take a nap after. Kayla made her way towards Harlee and smiled sitting beside him as he began to ask about her day. She talked to him about the day and they went on about what they could do together around the family's land.

"What can we do together?"

"We can do a lot of things what would you like to do?"

"Lets start with this." Kayla said as she wrapped her leg around him. "Alright Harlee." She muttered kissing up his neck.
