My Adorable Book Nerd

. . . .
The early morning sun arose as its glow cast a golden hue over the village of Phoenix Drop, fields of wheat swaying in the morning breeze. Kenmur was the first one to awaken in the small cottage home he shared with his lover, Emmalyn.
Rubbing his eyes, he slowly began to snap out of his groggy state.
He looked over to his side, seeing his beautiful lover on the other side of the bed. Her breathing was slow as she quietly snored beside him.
The black-rimmed glasses she normally wore was set aside in the wooden bedside table next to an empty glass that formally contained water within.
Kenmur delicately planted a loving kiss on top of the blonde's forehead lovingly as he was careful not to alarm her.
Even whilst he was making his way out of bed, Kenmur took his time so he didn't cause Emmalyn to rise from her slumber.
Making his way down the stairs of their lovely cottage home, Kenmur searched the kitchen to see if there were any ingredients to whip up some breakfast.
But he could only search so much to the point where he ultimately succumbed to the reality of the situation.
There was nothing there.
At least, nothing that will do for Kenmur.
"There's got to be something in here that I can use..." He pondered. But unfortunately, there were not enough ingredients he could convert into edible food in his reach.
The only way now was to travel to the town's market and find anything that he could use. Some fruit and something else on the side, perhaps?
With that, the brunette packed a small pouch containing any money he could quickly grab and headed out. A faint gust of wind blew past as he walked, the sensation feeling refreshing to him.
Once he arrived at the marketplace, a few people were awake at that time, but mainly folks looking for a good deal. Kenmur looked around to see if there was anything as of interest to him.
He notices a stocker that was organizing crates of fruit to an almost full stand. She was careful in setting up and organizing fruits in different sections of the stand as the crates were set on the ground.
"Uh, excuse me," He asked. "Are you open for shop?"
"Oh! Why, yes I am! What's a young man like you doing here this early in the shopping center? Normally, it's the really early folks who are up to snag a good deal before the others do."
"Well, I mean, it's not meant for my own gain. I'm buying for someone else."
"Oh?" She began, cocking an eyebrow. "Who's the lucky person then?"
"Well, it's for my partner back at home. I wanted to make something special for her since she's been working hard studying recently."
"Aww, how sweet." She replied. "Now, would you like to buy anything?"
Kenmur nodded and bought some fruits from the kind woman. After he thanked her, Kenmur then went to get other ingredients for the breakfast he had planned. Then he traveled back home to finally make something to eat for himself and Emmalyn.
. . .
Emmalyn arose from the bed, letting out a small, quiet yawn. Placing her glasses on, the blonde librarian hopped out of bed and traveled down the wooden steps of their home.
"Kenmur..?" She murmured as she approached him. "I didn't know you were up already."
"O-Oh! You're up! I made you some breakfast, sweetie." He said back to her. Kenmur kissed her forehead lovingly and presented the breakfast he made.
On a plate set on the table was two pieces of toast spread with some jam. A serving of cut fruits surrounded half of the plate's rim opposite of the toast with a small bowl of oatmeal in the middle.
"Ooo!"Emmalyn said as she went over to the food. "Aww, thank you Kenmur! This is so thoughtful of you."
"Well, I try. A-Anything for you my, uh..."
"Are you trying to come up with a name for me? I thought we agreed on no sobriquets since you claim to not find a good one for me."
"I just--, augh, nevermind! I don't know, I thought that I can come up with something." Kenmur sighed defeatedly.
"I'm sure something will come up sometime soon." She told him as she patted the brunette's back comfortingly. "But for now, can we finally eat some breakfast?"
"Let's."
. . .
"And that is why I believe that my theory on sentient ghosts is correct!"
"Oh yeah? Then does your's compete with mine?"
The couple was studying in the village library like the two normally do during the day.
"What's your theory then?" Emmalyn said, cocking an eyebrow.
"W-Well, my theory is that you are the cutest gal I've ever seen! And I have irrefutable proof!"
"Kenmur, stop it! You're making me red!" She stammered, her cheeks tinted a light shade of pink.
"Ugh, get a room!" A guard boomed as he walked by.
"We are in a room, thank you! Plus, it's a library! Not to be rude, but you should keep your voice down too."
The guard muttered something inaudible and walked off. Kenmur wore a subtle sour expression towards the guard whilst he walked off.
"Don't mind someone so rude like him," She said to him, placing her hand on top of his. "So anywho, what's your "irrefutable proof", huh Kenmur?"
"O-Oh right! Well, for starters, you sound so cute all the time and the glasses you wear are even cuter. You're so full of knowledge that you tend to break out into nerdy rants sometimes, which I find adorable!"
"Do I really do that? Oh my Irene, that's so embarrassing!"
"It's not to me. It's what makes you quirky and sweet." He cooed, wearing a bright smile.
"Well, as a book enthusiast, that's beyond embarrassing. It's ignominious!"
"I agree to disagree, my adorable book nerd!" Kenmur rebuked, wearing a smirk this time.
Emmalyn gasped! (Mostly out of surprise though.)
"You finally found a nickname for me! Aww!" She cooed sentimentally.
"I did? I did!" Kenmur cheered. "And I actually like this one! It suits you well."
"I like that one too," He said, intertwining his hands in hers.
"My adorable book nerd."
