"Why am I here again?"
"Zane, you're here because it's time for another D&D night! Wooo!" Aphmau cheered, smiling brightly.
"But still, I have things I could be doing instead of this." He retorted as he crossed his arms subsequently.
"Well, you wouldn't want poor Kawaii~Chan to be all by herself, now would you? What would you do if bandits tried to pickpocket her? Or attempt to steal her weapons!?"
The Mei'fwa gasped in response and glanced at Zane with a sad puppy-dog expression. The male rolled his eyes and sighed, agreeing to stay for the night.
"See? I'd knew you'd stick around!" Garroth said. He flashed his dark grey cape over his shoulders and proceeded to begin the adventure that would soon await them.
. . .
"Brave travelers, you now set foot onto a new journey! But this is no ordinary journey, no! Your mission is now to search for the lost emerald deep within the forbidden caves of Estora for a powerful sorcerer!" The blonde male began, speaking in a dramatized tone.
"Garroth, you do not have to be that dramatic. Plus, it's just an emerald. How hard could it be?" Aaron laughed and reached out for his own hand of dice.
"Hmm..." He hummed. "I choose to roll to travel into the caves."
"In your search for the enchanted, power-wielding emerald in the caves of Estora, you stumble upon two hollow cave openings. Arises from one of them is a low and deep roar of a creature lurking in the shadows. Do you still wish to continue?"
"I do." Aaron replies as the rest of the group continues on into the deep cave opening.
. .
After the four brave travelers continued to walk through the cave with the light of their lanterns guiding them through, they stood in front of the two split caverns.
"I think we should split up and try to find anything. It could maybe lead us down to an abandoned mine or something," Aaron suggested.
"I'll stay by your side." Aphmau spoke. "Plus, if anything comes to attack, I can smack them upside the head with my frying pan!"
She twirled her trusty frying pan in her hand while wearing a confident smile. Aaron only rolled his eyes and shook his head in response.
"Then I guess that leaves me with Princess Cookie," Zane responded with a sigh omitting from him subsequently. "I hope you know what you're doing. Who knows what kind of monstrosities lie in these caves?!"
On cue, a deep roar bellowed from the cavern that the two would ultimately go down into. Zane cautiously looked over to the Mei'fwa next to him who ended up shaking in her boots.
"Welp, good luck with that one!" Aaron laughed as him and the mage followed the path to the left. The raven-haired male sourly muttered something to himself whilst he clutched his sword in his hands.
"C'mon. That emerald isn't going to find itself! Monster or no monster, I will get that emerald!" He boomed, grabbing Princess Cookie's hand and raced down the dark tunnel with her.
. . .
"Find anything yet?"
"Augh, no! There's nothing but useless rocks in here." Aphmau snapped back. "What was the point of this quest anyways!? There's clearly nothing here!"
"Hey, hey. Relax! I'm sure there's something here as long as we keep trying to find something." Aaron spoke soothingly. "If we're lucky, we can find that emerald before those other two do."
. .
"I can hear you, y'know!" Zane muttered audibly, breaking out of character. "And if anything, we are going to get that emerald first!"
"Oh hush, you!" Aphmau flicked a hand. "Now, shall we continue, Aaron?"
. .
The two adventurers traveled deeper into the caves with only a lantern guiding them through. Every now and then, someone would check behind them to see if anything was going to attack them.
"Wait a minute..." Aaron murmured, lowering the lantern in his hand. "Do you see that?"
"See what?"
"There's something glowing in the distance." He replied, and indeed there was a glow originating from afar.
It was a soft green glow that could be seen deep into the tunnel's openings. And sure enough, the two began to follow it in hopes that it was the emerald they were looking for.
After some time, they finally reached the end of the tunnel which was a large, open cavern. The emerald sat on top of a rock formation in the center of the cavern. Aphmau's eyes lit up as she stared at the gem in awe.
"We found it!" Princess Cookie boomed, startling Aphmau and Aaron.
"No way, we totally found it first," Aaron said. "You guys were seconds too late."
"That's bogus!" Zane rebuked. "We found it first! I saw that emerald with my one eye before you even laid eyes on it!"
Princess Cookie took a look around the cave as the other three began to bicker back and forth. Subsequently, she noticed something slowly arise from the darkness.
A small gulp omitted from the Mei'fwa as she tried to get everyone's attention.
"Arises from the darkness is a creature from beyond this realm. It looked starved and scrawny, its ribcage and other bones protruded under the thin layer of its black charred skin. White piercing eyes met with yours as the monster slowly approaches. What will you do?" Garroth asked.
"I roll to flir--"
"Aphmau, are you crazy!? We have to fight it, not try to flirt with the thing!" Aaron shook his head in dissaproval subsequently. "Anyways, I roll to fight the beast."
"You sucessfully take a jab at the beast, weakening it slightly. As you brave warriors work together to defeat the monster, you sucessfully retrieved the emerald and returned to to the warlock! He pays you graciously for your efforts and vanishes into thin air." Garroth concluded.
"So, is that it?" Zane asked. Garroth have given a kurt nod in response.
"Aw man! I wanted to see what happens when I try to flirt with the monster!" Aphmau pouted as she crossed her arms.
"To be honest, we all know it would have eaten a short potato like you." Aaron remarked.
The rest of them continued to laugh as well, bringing the fun night of adveture to the end.
