Gum Drop Fudge
Creamy Vanilla Fudge filled with colorful holiday Gumdrop candy pieces!
~Ingredients:
2 Cups Granulated Sugar.
3/4 Cup Heavy Cream.
3/4 Cup Unsalted Butter.
Pinch of Salt.
1 Bag (11 oz) White Chocolate Morsels.
1 Jar (7 oz) Marshmallow Cream.
1 1/2 Cups Gumdrops, chopped.
~Directions:
Step 1: Prepare an 8 inch square baking dish by lining it with parchment paper. Set aside.
Step 2: Add white chocolate morsels and marshmallow cream to a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Step 3: In a large saucepan, add butter, heavy cream, sugar and salt.
Step 4: Bring to a boil over medium to high heat, stirring frequently.
Step 5: Once boiling, continue to boil for a full 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 6: Remove from heat and pour over white chocolate and marshmallow cream.
Step 7: Using an electric mixer, blend for about one minute, until the white chocolate morsels are melted and the mixture is smooth.
Step 8: Add gumdrops and fold them in with a spoon, gently.
Step 9: Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and refrigerate for two hours (or overnight), covered with a piece of plastic wrap.
Step 10: Once set, cut into bite sized pieces.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
Step 12: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
~Recipe Notes:
1) This is a versatile recipe. You can sub skittles for gumdrops, or even Mike and Ike, Starburst. Use your favorite fruit candy.
2) This would be a great gift to give to neighbors and friends. Fill a mason jar, add a lid, wrap some ribbon around it and give it away! Depending on the size of jar you use, you can make several jars of gifts. Add some whole gumdrops as filler and more color too!
