"Hey, the Fireworks are canceled.
Can we hang out at your place?"
Read.
I stopped walking in confusion. We were on our way to the fireworks after splitting up from the hot springs. They decided to stop and get some snacks while the twins and I got a blanket to sit on.
"What?" Tsukasa asked, looking over my shoulder. Amane pushed his face away so that he could see. The boys behind me play-fought right then and there in the street before I spoke up.
"Nene wants to hang out at my shop. Apparently the fireworks are canceled? Did you know?" I asked the two.
They exchanged glances at each other before shaking their heads no at me. "Maybe it's because of the weather. It is super humid. It might even rain." Amane recommended. He shrugged with his words and looked down somewhat disappointed. I looked down at my phone concerned before typing my reply quickly.
(L/n) (Y/n)
The fireworks were canceled? Why?
But I guess we could go to my place...
Do you think it would be better?

We started to walk in the opposite direction. Luckily, my shop wasn't too far away from the area. I looked down at my phone every so often with a look of disappointment. This didn't go unnoticed. "What's wrong?" Amane asked. He slowed his pace down so that he would walk next to me. Then he looked up to the sky. Although it was a humid evening. The stars shined brighter than ever.
"I was kinda...really looking forward to the fireworks," I complained. I swung my hands back and forth as I walked. Amane stopped the motion by grabbing ahold of one of them. I guess he didn't like me messing with my hands that much.
"I was too! But does it really matter? As long as we're all together and having fun, I think that's what's really important. Don't you think so too?" Tsukasa asked. Swinging his body around so that he would face the two of us. He walked backward as we advanced. That's a dumb idea. He could hurt himself.
"I guess..." The familiar ping from my phone was heard throughout the silent streets.
Yashiro Nene
Trust me, I think this is
Waaaayyy better. ;)

I tilted my head. There's something off with her. I haven't seen her all day aside from this morning... What had she been up to?
"Amane!" My, was he popular today. Our heads looked at the new voice to find the one and only Minamoto Kou. He waved at us as he ran over. By the time he came to us he was spewing out random stories.
"What are you doing here? Weren't you with Yashiro?" Tsukasa asked. He stomped in a puddle and the water rinsed across my feet. I would've yelled at him if it was just a normal day. I'll let him get away with it just this once.
"I was. But after she went inside with her friend Aoi I left to find you guys."
"Or you were just too nervous to be alone with the girls." Amane teased.
"Oh? Does Kou like one of them?" I asked intrigued. You could even hear it in my voice. The yellowed haired boy blushed at my words and turned his attention to the ground as if it were the most fascinating this he had seen all day.
"N-No." the stutter gave him away. Within the next second, all three of us were pestering the poor boy on which one.
"Fruit loops or daikon? Which one? It's that easy to just pick." Amane spoke. He waved his hands towards the boy as he spoke. Where did he get those nicknames? "I wouldn't judge you for fruit loops. She is kinda cute though." Amane pressed his pointer fingers together as if he were in the first grade again. Like he was already confessing to his first love. "W-would you... go out with me?!?!?" He held onto his chest as he burst out laughing with his brother.
I couldn't help but cover my own mouth to prevent the bark of laughter and I masked it with a cough. "C'mone guys..." I started at the twins. They looked at me expectantly. "That's not how he would do it. It's like, You are the light of my life and I would die without you. Go out- With me!" I choked through a laugh as I spoked. Tsukasa wiped away a fake tear as he shook with laughter.
By the time we got to my shop, Kou was a pouting blushing mess. But he hadn't said one word. None at all. He's good with secrets at least. My mother's head peaked from around the corner of the hall and once she noticed me, she quickly scrambled away upstairs.
"What on god's green earth is going on?"' I couldn't help but ask. The three boys who entered the shop behind me couldn't help but smile at what was to come soon after. They were a part of this whole scheme.
All of a sudden, Amane swept me off of my feet. Literally. I gasped and grasped onto his arm tightly as I looked at him strangely. "Ama-" I started. But Tsukasa's hand flew over my eyes. I could hear him snickering.
"You trust me right?" The boy holding me asks. He squeezed a bit to comfort but I'm not sure if that helped.
"That's debatable because of this situation right now! What is this? The princess bride?" I complained. We started to walk. I couldn't tell where we were going. I had a horrible sense of direction even though this was my own house. I wanted to reach out and touch something but every time I tried Tsukasa just slapped my hand back.
"Stop that!" He yelled. Amane chuckled. I thought for a moment. Where was I right now? In Amane's arms. Who was Amane? Well glad you asked. He's the guy I've liked for two whole years. My face grower warm thinking about this situation. What's was going to happen? I was surprised Amane could even lift me up. I didn't think he had that kind of strength in him. But I wouldn't tell him I thought that.
Whispers scattered from every direction. "I'm placing you down okay?" Amane said. Good thing he gave me a warning because I would've fallen. He knew that. My feet were fully on the ground but Tsukasa kept his hand over my eyes.
"What's going one?" I asked for the second time. I held onto myself. Ready for anything to come. More whispers were spread and finally after about a minute, he let go. I opened my eyes slowly because of how bright it was. The first thing I noticed was how many people were in the room. Akane, Aoi, Amane, Tsukasa, my mother, Nene, Kou, even Akane's friend Lemon was here. "What is this?"
"(Y/n), do you know where we are?" My mother asked. She knew about my bad sense of direction, but asked anyway. I guess it was for the effect.
"Noooo...???" I questioned. My eyes scanned over my friends and the boys behind me got in line with the others.
"This used to be our old storage room." My mother spoke. She looked over the now cleared room fondly before speaking again. "We moved all of the stuff into your father's old bedroom."
"Do you wanna know why?" Nene couldn't help but finish her sentence. I could tell she was excited about something. All of them were.
"What is happening? Why?" I questioned all of them. Tsukasa gave me a cheeky grin before parting the line of people. The biggest box I had ever seen in my life was displayed behind them. I don't know why I didn't notice it before. I shuffled cautiously over to the large box and knocked on it. "What's in it?" I asked.
"Shouldn't you find that out?" Akane said more as a statement than a question. Lemon held out a X-Acto knife and handed it to me. I twisted it around in my hands.
Should I open this? What if something dangerous was inside. "Is there something living there?" I asked. They all giggled at my curiosity.
"Definitely not. Unless there was a change of plans?" Amane spoke up. The others shook their heads and dropped their attention on me once more.
"So you were all in on this?" I asked them. They all nodded excitedly. Was that what was happening between Yashiro and Amane this morning? Were they just talking about this set up? I know I shouldn't have let it get to my head but I couldn't help but wonder.
The box was more wide than tall. So I placed the knife at the right edge and started to cut. Top right, top left, on all four sides. With the swift motion of moving on of the pieces I could tell what it was. My legs broke out underneath me and I covered my mouth to shield my cry.
"My." I choked out. All of my friends looked at me softly. Knowing how much this meant to me. I'm not sure if lemon, Aoi or Akane knew, but they helped anyway. "My piano!" It wasn't my original one I had at home. They had moved the piano from my music room and brought it here. This one was far better than my old one. "How?"
"We asked the principal. It took a lot of convincing. But eventually he said yes." Nene said proudly. She was probably the one to talk to him.
"And you worked all day on this?" I asked while Aoi helped me off of the floor. "I mean, just clearing this room would take forever. And as well as moving a whole Piano?"
"I made sure that the twins kept you company at the festival. Well, Amane at least. Tsukasa's job was to make sure that the Piano movers I hired left with the right piano." My mother explained.
I lowered my head in though. "So that's why I didn't see you all for most of today. And when Tsukasa supposedly had club work he was helping out the piano movers?" I questioned.
"Wow! She really is smart!" Tsukasa yelled like I wasn't.
"What about all of them? And Aoi, what about Hina?"
"I ran from here to there. Did you not notice how red I looked? I'm not the athletes type..." she rubbed her neck. Akane began to protest.
"I...I don't have the words!" I laughed out. My hand skimmed along the piano that I couldn't even think about touching yesterday. And here it was. It carried a whole different meaning now.
