RULES & INFO

Contest Status: Open with a few slots left but primarily judging; please check what categories are open before applying.

Read the rules before asking questions. I had a lot of people asking me questions like "How many categories can I submit to?" and "Can my book be ongoing?" and other questions, but these questions are answered in the rules. I am going to tell you to "read the rules" if you ask a question like that.

I have no problem clarifying if you're confused or if you have a question about something not in the rules, but please don't ask things like "What are payments?" "What's the form?" "Can my book be ongoing?" and other things like that. Those questions will be answered here.

Read all the rules if you want a warm chocolate chip cookie.

For additional updates about this contest, I have a Discord where I keep everyone updated. You can also share your work with fellow writers there. Link in the inline comment here --->

Info:

- I am the only judge. The goal of this awards is to be as accessible as possible, therefore there will be minimal payments. If I include other judges, the payments would go up.

- I don't care how new or old your story is. It could have been posted five years ago or five minutes ago and I'd still accept it.

- This is going to be my final contest for the summer. I likely will not have another big contest until 2025 alongside some mini ones in fall, therefore this is the last opportunity for a while.

- Both ongoing and completed stories are accepted.

- Please refrain from asking me about results and when judging starts—I am judging by myself, so results may take time, but don't worry, I will inform you when judging begins.

- I run a review and interview shop, but while participating in this contest, you cannot sign up for either of them. Anyone who is a past participant of those shops or are waiting for their review/interview can still sign up for this contest.

- I don't give harsh feedback. I give fair and honest feedback, so it may sting, but I'm not going to use words like "ugly" or "cringe" or other harsh terms. The goal is to help you, not hurt you. Look at my Fairy Night Awards for examples of how I judge.

- Most types of stories are accepted such as mature stories, lgbtq+ stories, ships, anthologies, fanfics of any fandom, original stories, stories inspired by pre-existing media (i.e., a comic book or movie), crossovers, etc. I have a small restrictions list. As long as your story doesn't fall under any of the restrictions, you can submit it.

- With that being said, please read the categories chapter so you better know where to submit your story.

Rules:

- Doing this first since this is the most-broken rule: you can submit up to four times, but with different books in different categories. You cannot submit the same book twice. No exceptions. So if you have one book, you can only submit once.

- You can call me Raven, Rave, Jiminbiasnim, Ravendipity, author, punk little b*tch, fire hydrant looking a$$ (I'm ginger), strawberry-haired woman, or whatever casual name you want, but please do not call me the sweet names like dear or sweetheart. They make me uncomfortable.

- You must submit your own story. No exceptions.

- Do the payments before submitting the form.

- As long as you have at least one core story chapter, you can apply (prologues, aesthetics, achievements, etc. don't count, it needs to be a core chapter). That means oneshots are allowed.

- If you are submitting an anthology/compilation, please tell me what chapter you would like me to judge.

- Your story must be primarily in English. Translations to English are fine. If there are other languages in your story, that's fine as long as it's primarily English and I can understand the plot/characters/themes.

- You can make edits to your story and add new chapters while in this contest.

- That being said, if you change your username, title, and/or book cover, please inform me. You can still do it, just inform me so I know. Please do not do this while I am judging your category (I will inform you what categories I am judging).

- The Forever Gold K-pop Awards are still open, as are the Padauk Mini Awards, though Padauk only has less than 10 spots left, so claim your spots while you still can!

- Do not attempt to bribe me. Unless you have 4K ultra HD no cap better-than-eyesight quality videos of Park Jimin in his 2023 blonde hair throwing it back with the passion, strength, determination, and speed of the dinosaurs running from the asteroid that ctrl alt deleted them from the face of the Earth, then I'm not going to accept it.

Restrictions:

You cannot sign up if any of these apply to you.

If you have a problem with any of these restrictions, keep it to yourself. I host and judge this by myself, and my reviews per category are typically 15-40k words long. I am absolutely within my rights to say what stories I do and don't want to spend that much time reviewing, so please respect that or click off the book. I shouldn't have to force myself to read and review stories I'm uncomfortable with just to be more accommodating. That's unfair to me.

I won't be offended if you dislike my rules, but that doesn't change that they're mine, and that doesn't make them wrong or unfair, it just means they aren't your personal taste. It is okay if you disagree, but that doesn't mean you have to argue or express that you dislike my rules. You would be trying to make me feel bad about being uncomfortable with certain things.

That's f**ked up, bro.

If you have a genuine concern with anything, I will happily answer questions and try to be more accommodating, but if you're leaving your "opinion" to try and be rude to me about my rules, don't. I'm not going to reply, so don't bother.

Moving on...

1) If your book is 80-100% smut. If you have smut in your book, that's fine, but it can't be mostly smut. Excessive smut makes me very uncomfortable.

2) Any book romanticizing dark topics like r/pe and ab/se. I don't care if it's in the warnings, I do not morally agree with romanticizing those topics. If your story has dark topics, that's fine, I'm talking about stories that make these dark topics look healthy, happy, sunshine and rainbows, etc. Like if the ml r words the fl and there's no consequences and they end up together no problem, that's what I'm talking about. I cannot support those stories and refuse to read them.

3) Any story with over 500k reads.

4) Any plagiarized work or AI content will be disqualified. I won't judge you for using AI to write, but do not submit it here.

- That being said, if you have AI assistance, like you used AI to help with grammar or to help brainstorm, that's fine. I'm talking about stories where the AI actually wrote it.

5) Any books with graphic r/pe scenes. I am not comfortable reading that. Mentioned r/pe, attempted but not successful r/pe, or cut to black is fine, I just don't want to see it actually happening.

6) If you have bolded dialogue or excessive bold, I will still accept the story, though please warn me in your form. Bolded dialogue fries my eyes, so I have to switch devices to read it without being in searing pain. Please don't give me a migraine and tell me you have bolded dialogue.

Please.

Payments:

- Permanently follow me

- Add this to a public or private reading list

- Tag 2-12 people in your forms or post this contest on your message board

I'm doing something a bit different with these awards. You don't have to tag people and post on your mb if you don't want to. You only have to do one

In other words: If you want to do both, that's fine since you're only required to do one. So if you post it on your mb but don't tag people or vice versa, that's fine! You'll be accepted.

Optional Payments:

You do not have to do these, these are just options if you want to help promote the awards.

- Leave a few comments to help boost this book in the algorithm

- Post it on your message board (if you chose to do the tags)

- Tag people in your forms or here (if you chose to do the mb post)

- Share my profile around so more people can find my contests

- Vote if you're enjoying and want to see more

Payment Rules:

- Don't worry, I don't post much in the way of stories/announcements, so following me won't result in many notifications.

- If you are going to follow from a backup, please leave an inline comment here. Do not put it in your form.

- If you back out, you must remain followed. This rule is in place to discourage you from backing out to lower the risk of me being in the middle of your review when you back out (this has happened to me many times before).

- Yes, you can back out, and I'm understanding of emergencies or changes in mental state, though please try not to, or try to find someone to take your place.

- If you back out for any reason, I will keep in touch with you since most people back out due to lack of confidence, and I want to do my best to encourage you, not to shun you.

- You must remain followed after the contest is over. You get a permanent detailed review from me along with other permanent benefits, so it's only fair that one of the payments is permanent.

- I write all my reviews off-site, so if this book is deleted for any reason, I will send you your review.

- If your book gets deleted for any reason, you can submit another book without having to submit another form. You can tell me what book you want to replace the old one with.

- If you make the choice to delete your book, then you must remain followed since that's not my fault and you're inconveniencing me.

- If Wattpad removed the book, and you can provide proof of this (since Wattpad would inform you they took it down), then I have no problem with you unfollowing since that's out of our control and not your fault (only if all the books you submitted get removed by Wattpad).

- You will get two warnings about unfollowing. Unfollowing more than twice will result in a blacklisting within reason. For example, if you unfollow twice then unfollow again like six months later, I'm not cruel, I'll ask you about it.

- Blacklists for unfollows will take a week to roll out, so you will have a full week to refollow me if you unfollow more than twice. I have been running contests for years and have less than ten people on my blacklist, so that should show I only blacklist in extreme situations and you kinda have to try to get blacklisted.

- If you are experiencing issues and have unfollowed me for some reason (like a glitch or you're going on an unfollow then refollow spree), please let me know and I will not hold it against you/count it toward your warnings as long as you follow me back within a week. If I don't notice you unfollow me before you refollow me, then don't worry, that won't count toward your warnings either.

- Adding to your library is not a payment to promote the awards, it's just so you can get notifications about story updates, so that's why I don't care if the library is public or private.

- I don't care if you remove it from your library after your category is judged/the contest is complete. The follow is the only permanent thing.
