Chapter 2: Back to the cove
10 years later...
Lilly's love for Candle cove never ceased. It only continued to grow as the years went on and her mother explained what happened when she was there. Lilly and her mother, Alexandra, would sometimes, when the rest of the family wasn't home, watch the existing tape containing the original episodes of Candle cove. She always held a special place in her heart for Percy, the young pirate she helped so long ago. But she didn't know that on the night of her 16th birthday, everything would change.
Things had gone as if they were a normal day, unfortunately. It was Lilly's 16th birthday today and everyone in her family, other than her mother who took her out for dinner, forgot completely. After coming home, washing up, and getting ready for bed, Lilly and Alexandra brought out the Candle cove cassette tape and played it. They watched it the whole night until it was time for bed.
"Mom, can I see the journal?" Lilly asked when she was in her room
"Of course, sweetie. Just give me a second" Alexandra said before going off to her room to get the old journal
When she came back, Lilly was bouncing up and down in her bed, anxious. Alexandra gave her the old book and left her to read.
As she read the book, Lilly suddenly felt that something was... calling her. She dismissed it, thinking it was her energy depletion from the day. She turned the light out, lied down, and fell asleep, holding the journal in her arms. Her mother came in to check on her, only to see Lilly evaporating into thin air. Alexandra smiled
Lilly was going back to Candle cove.

Lilly felt like she was getting carried in somebody's arms. The arms and body were oddly bony, almost like a skeleton. Her eyes fluttered open and closed sleepily, trying to wake up, until she caught the face of who was carrying her. She let out a loud shriek that was at a higher pitch than she ever thought she could reach.
"SKIN TAKER!!!!!?" She screamed
The skeleton only smiled an evil grin at her.
"Well well well... yer awake, lass" He seethed
She was dropped into a prison cell. She hit the ground with a thud and the Skin Taker locked her in. Lilly was speechless. Literally, she was too scared to say anything. There was an awkward silence for several minutes before Lilly finally mustered up the courage to speak.
"W-What are you g-gonna do to m-me?" She stuttered, timidly
The Skin Taker simply laughed at her, giving Lilly a sinister smile as he settled down. He reached his bony hand through the bars of the cell and gently caressed her cheek before grabbing her by the neck very tightly, causing her to choke.
"Ye will make a fine suit, my dear. Don't worry, though, I promise you it won't hurt a bit" he seethed, making Lilly struggle even more vigorously against his hand
Suddenly, there was a loud bang followed by the clashing of swords and Skin Taker dropping Lilly in surprise. The door to the room then burst open with Hoody Hans and Horris Horrible coming in.
"Captain, it be th' laughin' stocks!!" Hans said in such a high-pitched voice that Lilly whimpered and covered her ears
"Blast those good for nothin' fools. Horace, watch th' lass! Make sure she don't escape" Skin Taker ordered as he and Hans went to the upper deck
Horace Horrible, the sidekick for the Skin-Taker strolled up to Lilly's cell. She backed away out of pure fear for what the rubber fishes would do with her. She especially didn't like Horace very much because of his captain, though admittedly it was pretty funny to see him lose a battle in the show.
The moment Horace was in front of the cell, he did something that was rather out of character, especially for him. He reached to his belt, pulled out a ring of keys, and unlocked the door. He also reached for a small bag and placed it on the ground.
Lilly was reluctant to step near him, but eventually went to the open cell door, picked up the bag, and tied it around her wrist.
"List'n, lass. There's a reason why I be doin' this. A reason that ye'll have to find out later. Fer now, just head to the deck and try to reach th' Laughin' stocks" Horace said in a quiet voice
Lily was confused, but decided to listen. She quickly left the prison cabin and got to the upper deck, where a huge battle between two pirate ship crews during a raging storm at sea. The crew from the ship next to the Crackerjack were retreating back to their ship. Lilly ran towards the edge of the ship, where she stood looking out over the raging water as it rocked the ship. She could see someone, it was hard to tell who with her vision being blurred by the rain, but someone near the wheel of the other ship was looking at Lilly through binoculars.
They shouted something, but Lilly didn't get the chance to process what they were saying because a bony hand grabbed her from behind. She already knew who it was, so she began to thrash about before she fell off the ship. She hit the water and tried hopelessly to stay above it, but a massive wave forced her to hold her breath as she was pulled under. The cold water made her numb, and even below the waves she was being rocked about, which quickly caused her to lose her breath. As her vision began to swim, she thought that she could barely hear the sound of something hitting the water before, in a matter of a minute, she could feel the warmth of another person holding her close as they pulled her to the surface. The last thing she saw was a pale face with red hair on its head as she blacked out.
