TWO

《 Park Chanyeol 》

The tutoring sessions that I received due to my royal DNA, forced me to attend the libabry at ungodly hours, granted that Vampires could go without sleep for a period of time, that didn't mean that I was not tired because of it.

Due to my genetic makeup and an over protective Father, I wasn't allowed to attend school with the other students. So I was forced into having tutoring sessions with one of father's right hand men.

Minho was a very close friend of my father's but he was always someone I looked up to and enjoyed hanging out with, even though he was my tutor. He was pretty laid back and most times we just talked about different things instead of the actual coursework he was supposed to teach me.

I'm a vampire teen, meaning that I've spent most of my years studying similar to the way the humans do, however I don't get as many tests or hours of sitting in a chair and staring blankly at the book, which I believe is called studying?

Many of the other royal blooded vampires, attend the school with the exception of those living under this castles roof.

"I refuse to learn about that shit!" Kyungsoo hissed, slamming the book closed and glaring down at Minho who sighed in reply.

Do Kyungsoo was part of the Do clan. They were mostly based in the mountainous regions of Korea, yet they often entered the city to attend different parties and gatherings of the other families. A party had brought him and his mate together.

Kim (Kai) Jongin was my brother, well half-brother. He was a son of my father and his mistress Kathrine. She was a lovely lady yet her stupidity had landed her in bed with my Father, the king of Darkness, thus producing Kai, who was looked at as nothing more than a bastard of the family from our people, who were people who followed our way of life or basically other vampires. (A/n A bastard in this context is a child who is born with unmarried parents) I never thought of him like that. He was my brother no matter who carried us in their stomaches.

"Come on babe, you know you can do this" Kai cooed, pulling Kyungsoo into his lap while rubbing his back gently.

They were a cute couple and I was jealous of that. Since I was older than Kai by a couple years I was expected to find my mate alot sooner than he was, yet I just turned 18 and haven't had any inkling of them, even though our mate bond was there I knew he was alive and the fact that he was a him yet nothing told me of his identity.

Kai was only 16.

"Come on guys help me out here I don't know how I manage to stay sane through this while thing" Minho grunted, his head fallening into his hands in defeat.

I chuckled at his misfortune and closed my English book knowing that we wouldn't be going back to the study today.

A tap on my shoulder pulled my attention away and towards the servant that handed him a note while whispering "It's important your majesty". I accepted the letter into my palm and thanked him before he left.

"Your duty calls" Kai sighed "Will we leave?"

I immediately shook my head, being the next King really brought loneliness and it was bad enough that my schedule was harsh resulting in my limited time to see my younger brother. So now that that his letter was here, he felt the need to excuse himself from me again and I was getting annoyed by it.

"No" I didn't mean for it to come out in such a harsh time but I needed him to know that no matter how important the news was he was still able to listen in. I'm his brother and I will more than likely need his help in the furture. "Your my brother, you deserve to know what is going on in our kingdom".

The look of surpise on his face made my lips curl up in a smile. He sent me a nod and I turned the letter over, my heart skipping a beat at the seal.

"What is it brother?" Kai wondered, I looked up netting his gaze. He became quiet and Kyungsoo stared between the two of us in confusion.

"What's wrong?" He breathed, Minho stood up and excused himself knowing to keep his mouth shut from my father.

"It's a Celtic knot" I muttered, I could feel the sweat pool on my forehead as I turned to look back at the envelope.

My address and name covered the front in beautiful curvise writing, I expected nothing less from our family members on the other side of the world.

"Open it" Kai urged, clearly stressed with my slow witted choices.

Slowly I broke the green seal and opened the letter the similar writing style greeted me.

Dear Brother,

I am sorry to have to be the one to tell you such news... but Nana is dead and Luhan is currently recovering from a raid on the castle last night. Some of the lower class vampires managed to somehow break through our defences and attack us as we slept.

Unlike Korea we actually enjoy the sleep we are able to have here, however our dreams will be put on hold as we must attend to the injured. I managed to get away with a couple scratches  and bruises but our dear sister suffered a head wound. She's currently in hospital with Luhan and the nurses are tending to her though we both know that she is a tough cookie and will pull through in the coming days.

Chanyeol I'm scared to say that the rebellion has begun, not many people want you as King and I am surpised that we had to encounter such things as this here. We urge you as part of your family and as your friends to find your mate quickly and stay safe.

Please do write back and inform me that my stubborn brothers are alright and that Kai is taking good care of Kyungsoo.

We will expect you soon Brother may the Lord watch over your castle and mate until we find ourselves side by side again.

Your loving brother,

Sehun.

"Nana is dead"

A lush gasp filled my ears as Kyungsoo clung onto Kai as he cried into his chest. My brother stared off into space, clearly allowing the information to sink in.

Memories of the old lady and her hot chocolate chip cookies filled my mind as images of our trips across the world sprung up like daisies in a field.

~×~

"My my Chanyeol you get taller everytime I see you" Nana grinned staring at the little boy before her. His face hidden behind large black sunglasses.

The famous 26 teeth smile shined off the suns light, blinding the reuniting family members.

"Nana!" Chanyeol yelled rushing towards the lady at a chance to get a large hug from her warm body.

He was not yet 1 and 4 and the lady blushed as she realised how quickly the young boy was growing.

"My young man, my look how you have grown"

"I'm going to be 14 soon!" He cried "Will you still keep your promise?" He wondered looking up at her through the dark glasses yet the woman's strengthen eyesight allowed her to see the beauty behind them.

"I always send you cookies for your birthday you brat!" She laughed stepping back and leading the boy into the large home behind the castle.

"I just wanted to make sure" Chanyeol teased allowing his hair to be ruffled from her warm hand.

"I know honey" she giggled, pushing her grandson into the kitchen. "Why don't you help me make the dinner hmm?"

"Can I put my bag in my room first?" He asked earning a small 'tsk' in return.

"Hmm, I suppose" she chuckled.

Chanyeol grinned and rushed off into the house finding the room he always slept in whenever he travelled to the green country. He breathed in the warm sunshine and the lush grass from the open window.

The castle was located in the countryside a long flight from Seoul Korea, Chanyeol travelled by himself over oceans and Continents on his family's private jet.

"Chanyeol?"

"Coming Nana!"

~×~

Chanyeol had excused himself to his room after finding out the sad news. His second home had been breached by the rebel vampires that would stop at nothing to see him dead before sitting on a throne.

He reread the letter over and over again still shocked with the news, yet something didn't seem right. Sehun seemed alot more scared then he had been letting on in his letter and Chanyeol figured that Sky was the reason behind it.

~ Byun Baekhyun ~

"Come on Baekhyun we don't have all day" Yixing laughed from the kitchen.

Baekhyun had woken up late today and was beginning to think he could really purchase an alarm clock since he had slept through the ones on his phone.

"Yes yes I know kill me" He muttered rushing around with a piece of toast hanging from his lips.

He looked slightly pale today and Lay was beginning to think that he wasn't eatting healthy.

"Are you alright Baekhyun?" He wondered, slightly worried about the young boy.

Baekhyun waved him off while looking for his other Converse shoe. "I'm fine hyung, I just need to find my bloody shoe"

Lay chuckled and nodded, taking a seat on Baekhyun's kitchen counter, looking at the boy as he ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

"AH HA!" He yelled grabbing the shoe and holding it above his head in a praised position.

Lay chuckled while rolling his eyes, jumping down off the counter and begining his walk to the front door of Baekhyun's apartment. Him being teacher meant that he didn't need to be at work until 8am but Baekhyun being a student meant he needed to be on school premises by 7:45.

The routine of the two men worked like every other normal week and Baekhyun waved the teacher goodbye as he got to his locker.

He took out his books and groaned realising that he had left his geography book at home from studying for an upcoming test due that day.

He shrugged his bag onto his shoulder and closed the metal door, locking it in the process. He wasn't nervous about having forgotten his book the test would be taking up the whole class anyway so he wasn't in desperate need of it. He had revised well enough to know the basics of some of the questions that would come up.

With a slight twist of his heel he turned around and began his way to his first class of the day. Not realising that the jocks had a different plan for him today.

When Baekhyun turned the corner he came face to face with Wonho the star football player of the school, and better yet known as one of the many guys that bullied Baekhyun.

"Well well look what we have here" he smirked, his blanched blonde hair sticking to his forehead, sweat covering his body probably from the early practise meet he attended.

Baekhyun whinced as his back fell flat against one of the many lockers, Wonho's body pressed up against him to keep him in place.

"So what does the fag have for me today?" He hissed, a hand wrapping around Baekhyun's throat in annoyance.

Baekhyun licked and screamed and fight but it only tried his body out, for some strange reason Wonho was acting alot stronger than usual his strength attacking Baekhyun's weak frame.

"WONHO!" A unfamiliar voice yelled pulling the boy away from making Baekhyun's life flash before his eyes.

"Back off!" The teacher yelled pulling the star away from the boy that fell limp to the ground, choking for air. Students rushed around the three and other teachers pushed through.

"Baekhyun are you alright?" Lay
wondered keeping a hold on the boy in-case he went to run away.

"Y-yeah" he breathed, his lungs filling with air as he rubbed the part of his neck that held Wonho's finger not that long ago.

"My gosh your lips are slightly blue!" A female teacher gasped rushing to the boy and helping him up.

"I'm fine Ms Choi"

"Nonsense we need to get you to the nurse just in case Baekhyun"

That was all he could hear before he passed out.

Park Chanyeol 》

"Chanyeol?"

Turning towards the door to his bedroom I smiled at my brother who wore a worried expression.

"Are you alright hyung?"

I didn't know what to say. I wanted to say no yet in my heart I felt fine.

"I'm not sure..." we're the words that fell instead. Kai chuckled deeply and walked into the room, pulling his hands from behind him.

I gasped at the gift between his hands "Kyungsoo told me to give this to you"

I reached out and took the cupcake, I wasn't a lover of strawberries but it looked delicious.

"Thank you" I whsipered, plucking the fruit from the cupcake and resting it on my workbench.

"Everything will be alright on the end hyung"

I breathed a sigh and nodded yet how was he supposed to know. He didn't have the gift of sight.

"Father has been looking for you"

I rolled my eyes and placed the half eaten treat on the table, before standing up and grabbing the towel that hung over my chair.

"Well he can continue looking because I don't want to see him" I shot back keeping the anger from my tone, since Kai didn't deserve to be yelled at.

"Your Appa is worried about you"

The mention of Suho made my heart melt. "Tell him I'm alright and that he should be the one upset, it was his mother that passed"

"He hasn't seen her in a very very long time Chanyeol, you seen her almost every summer"

"Till Father forbid me to go back"

"Chanyeol-"

"Kai I love you and I don't want to loose my temper with you brother, please don't make me"

My brother nodded and sealed his puff lips. I grew a sigh before walking to my window.

The landscape here was nothing like there. No trees or grass, no sunshine naturally trickling through the window panes.

Instead you were met with the concrete jungle, cars littering the back and front yards and cobble stones stopping any formation of green plants. Nothing made this place beautiful except the family I care for.

Not the trickling waterfall that led to a koi pond, not the fake potted plants that were made of plastic. Not the expensive furniture that lined the walls and floors. Nothing, not one thing was beautiful in my eyes.

"I'm going to go and have a shower" I whsipwred making sure that my voice was filled with serenity and care.

"I'll make sure Kyungsoo has breakfast on the table"

I turned and gazed at the sunrise that began dancing over the top of the other buildings before our own.

Our castle was on a hill and looked more like a mansion on the outside then the inside. Apparently the streets just under were filled with our people and further away past the hill was the rest of Seoul. Each person waking up to the morning sun.

"We stayed awake through the whole night again didn't we" I sighed, my head fallening forward and hitting against the window.

Kai chuckled and I could feel him nodding. I sighed again and pushed myself away from the window.

I tossed the towel over my shoulder and looked back at my brother.

"We are used it it at this point aren't we Brother?" He laughed and I couldn't help but join him.

A shiver shook my back as I left a slight tingling sensation dance on my arm, glancing down I gasped at the sight.

"Woah what's that?!" Kai yelled standing up off my bed and walking over.

Together we both examined my arm as lines and curls swayed and danced on my skin.

"A plant?"

"My mate" I blurted.

This was his way of showing me he was alive. Our bodies were connected with the art of ink. My mate was able to show me his existence as he drew doodles or images or words on his body. The exact same thing appearing on my own.

"Chanyeol" Kai gasped, his hand meeting his mouth in shock "you're mate is able to contact you through this?"

I grinned happily while nodding. Finally, it's time. It's time I found my mate.
