Baekhyun stared at his mate through the fog, his eyes hooded in bliss and the small amount of alcohol still present in his system. Luhan and Kyungsoo giggled beside him, their laughter floating through the air like the music back in the bar had done not so long ago. The three 'Park' siblings watched their mates go with carefree smiles, Chanyeol in particular finding his young mate beautiful in the bright glow of the moon.

"So tell me" he whispered wrapping his arm around Skylar's shoulder, he had noticed the youngest sibling was quiet in comparison to her excited tone and action in the bar. Her eyebrows raised in curiosity, tilting her head to the side so that she could hear her brother's mate better. "Who is Colin and why did your face light up like a Christmas tree when you seen him?"

A nervous chuckle escaped her pink lips, her brown curled hair hiding the side of her face from Baekhyun's sight. The newly turned vampire giggling at the action, his head being tossed back between his shoulders. "He's a vampire, grew up alongside Chanyeol so that makes him slightly older than me, he was super nice when greeting me and he even helped me out with learning English"

"Do I suspect a student-tutor relationship blooming in this story?" Baekhyun teased his wiggling eyebrows earning him a punch to the chest, had he been human that punch would have bruised or cause some damage internally, yet now that he was a vampire it meant that he would be of equal strength and he wouldn't bruise like a peach anymore. "Okay, but please tell me that you at least feel some sort of connection with the guy!" Baekhyun pleaded.

"I don't know" Skylar admitted, her gaze falling to the dirt ground below them. Baekhyun found the surroundings amazing, the green fields and the bright lush trees running alongside them- somewhat protecting them from the dangers of the dark. "I never had the opportunity to find my mate, I felt lost and often guarded in the manor.. I don't know the feelings that I have towards him, I know that they are different to the ones I feel for my family but-"

"Describe them to me, maybe I'll be able to figure it out and help you out.. after all we'll be family soon right?" Baekhyun was happy to see the girl nod her head, an equal amount of excitement on her face as in his heart. "So come on then, give me the details don't leave your future brother in law hanging!"

"Okay so, whenever he came to the manor to help me with my English, I never really felt this way.. I only saw him as a friend and a teacher, a brother if you will" Baekhyun nodded, following the girls train of thought as she continued to lead the group towards the direction of the manor. "I guess it wasn't till I was able to leave the manor that I began feeling this way, I guess it was because I started seeing him more like a friend instead of a teacher, does that make sense?"

"Perfectly" Baekhyun grinned halting in his steps when he heard Jongin and Sehun call out that they were going to far ahead and they should keep close to the group. "That's sort of like what I felt with your brother"

"Really?" Skylar gasped, seemingly interested in both her brother and Baekhyun's relationship. He couldn't stop the laugh that escaped his lips, but he did nod his head as an indication.

"He wasn't a teacher to me, but rather a stranger from there it grew to a friend and well now look at us"

"It's only been since the attack on the castle, I witnessed my brother and Luhan.. Luhan was hit over the head with some rumble and underwent a coma for a couple weeks, my brother stayed with him throughout it all.. I guess that reminded me of the time that I was sick in bed, Colin had managed to stop by the castle baring the food that he knew I liked even though Nana would never have allowed me to devour sweets if she had known" Skylar grinned, recalling the memory. Baekhyun recognised the name connecting it with the picture of the Park Family hung on Chanyeol's bedroom wall.

"It has been since then that I feel differently about him, he isn't a teacher for me nor a brother but-"

"You really like him don't you?" Baekhyun chuckled, bumping his shoulder against her back picking up the pace of walking again when the rest of the Park clan had caught up.

"Ah I'm not sure-"

"Oh believe me honey you do" Baekhyun announced, tilting his head backwards for a spilt moment. His eyes falling onto his mate who was already looking forward to him, a smile decorating his face as he turned back to Skylar. "Because I realised I had a strong liking to your brother when he was bedridden too"

"You did? Wait Chanyeol was bedridden?" Skylar gasped, her eyes doubling in size at the new information.

"When he was in Korea with me, apparently he had run away from home to come and find me. He and your dad already knew each other and had insisted of making up for lost time, so your dad allowed Chanyeol to stay at his apartment for some time, I was his neighbour. I day Chanyeol found me I was working in a café, since then we had been meeting up at strange moments and I had taken your fathers request of dinner in his apartment since I didn't know that I had to invite your brother into mine. Long story short, he was in the shower, got burned by mountain ash and I blew his mind with a kiss" Baekhyun stated, his lips finding it hard to keep in a straight line at the shocked expression his future sister-in-law was pulling.

"You kissed him, then and there without regret?"

"You see unlike you, I had this voice in my head telling me and basically controlling everything I did, I wanted to kiss him the moment it all happened and when I did everything felt right. Until I began freaking out about the possibility that he didn't like guys at all"

At this Skylar let out a laugh, her brown locks falling behind her shoulders and waved against her back. "I wish I was able to find my mate like that"

"You know, the one thing that I've learnt about you guys is that you take this mates thing seriously, you spend your entire life waiting until you find each other, but you guys never take any risks. Life is more than just waiting for the good things to happen, its about making them happen and learning from the possible mistakes that it might carry. You guys are vampires you don't get the thrill of living life to the fullest because you fear that the next day you won't wake up, like humans do. Life is short to humans so we make the best out of it, you know when I was trying to stay away from blood I spent what I thought was my last day doing what I loved, spending time with the man that I love. That was a risk I was willing to make because that's the life I was born to live, that's the life we've all be given to live. If you can't take risks and just sit around until everything gets better it's never going to be a joyful life. Chanyeol knows that more than anyone, he spent his entire childhood waiting to meet me, his mate. He wasn't going to because he knew that his Appa would feel unprotected, and unloved with his father, but when Kris threatened to marry him off to another vampire Chanyeol made it his mission to find me. For all I knew I could have died before he met me, I was human, Citrine vampire blood or not I was still human, if he hadn't of taken the risk to come and find me then we probably wouldn't be walking down this dirt path right now."

Skylar smiled a genuine smile up at the taller, Baekhyun mimicking the grin right back at her. His chest heaving as he finally got a proper breath. "So I guess what I'm saying right now is, if you like this Colin and you feel something strange about him, I say give him a kiss and see where it goes from there. If you feel nothing, then at least you can say that you tried. I know I don't know or understand vampire traditions completely but surely you could go against the rules or regulations you grew up with for a moment or a split second of fun?"

"Yeah okay" Skylar nodded, taking Baekhyun's words to heart, her natural bright smile doubling in shine. "I'll do just that, Chanyeol said that he will be accompanying us for brunch before we leave in the afternoon I can test our theory then!"

"Then I'll be secretly cheering you on" he winked, rising a fist in the air against his chest. "Fighting!"

"Thank you so much Baekhyun" she squeaked jumping up to hug the boy close, the latter suddenly surprised by her actions. However, once he got over his initial fright Baekhyun found himself hugging the girl back just as tight as she was clinging onto him. "And you need to go into more details about your relationship with my brother, I will be preparing questions and notes so be ready for when I spring them on you okay?"

"Sure thing little Park" He chuckled stepping away from the youngest sibling, his heart fluttering at the sight of the excited girl dash up to Sehun and Kai wrapping her arms around them and cheering loudly into their ears.

"What the hell did you do to her?" Kyungsoo gasped, appearing behind his best friend. Baekhyun tilting his head in his direction before turning back to look at the happy younger girl. "Slip something into her drink or something?"

"First of all that would be a immature thing to do, second of all I happened to help her figure out her feelings towards a certain vampire named Colin"

"Oh the hell did you manage that?!" Luhan puffed, his wide eyes boring holes into Baekhyun's face. "I've been trying to do that for months but it didn't work as easily as whatever you just said"

"Well then" Baekhyun smiled rubbing his hands off each other, giving the illusion that he was dusting dust of them. "Aren't you glad that you had a human as help?"

"You can't keep calling yourself that" Kyungsoo rolled his eyes slapping the newbie vampire on his back lightly. "You're a vampire now, the least you could do was notice it"

"Correction, I was technically both a human and a vampire before but I just didn't crave blood or have weird whooshing abilities that still make me feel sick by the way"

"You'll get used to it eventually" Luhan laughed wrapping his arms around Kyungsoo and Baekhyun's shoulders, taking it upon himself to lead the group back to the manor. Baekhyun stealing a glance behind him watching as his mate stuck to the back, his head turning from left to right slowly, nose raised in the air. Something was wrong, so badly wrong.

Before Baekhyun could even blink Jongin had thrusted Skylar towards them, the girl colliding straight into their bodies almost knocking them completely over. Luhan and Kyungsoo managed to stabilise their position supporting both the new-born and the only girl vampire present, Baekhyun quickly pushed the girl behind him watching the treeline.

Jongin had grabbed Sehun and propelled down the dirt path to Chanyeol, the vampire accepting his brothers help. "We need to go" Kyungsoo announced, his hand gripped tightly to Baekhyun's the latter groaning and gasping at the pain.

"Kyung let go, you're hurting me!" Baekhyun yelled, thrashing around in the latter's hold. When Kyungsoo finally let go Baekhyun stared down at his wrist, it was misplaced his hand tilted slightly to the left, the pain quickly being dulled when Luhan snapped his wrist back into place. "Jesus Christ" Baekhyun screamed his knees weakening as he fell against Skylar in pain.

"I did not mean to do that" Kyungsoo gasped looking down at his hands in amazement. "I was never able to do that, what the hell"

"Now you can" Skylar giggled clinging to the vampire with a grin. "Baekhyun and Chanyeol are the heads of the family now, we get to develop our own powers from them which means that you are able to develop a certain type of strength other vampires don't have"

"Skylar if I tried to do that I would be able to, every vampire would be able to" Luhan commented trying to make the teenager understand.

"But that's the thing Luhan" Kyungsoo began hiding his hands behind his back "I was trying to do that"

"Yeah no shit" Baekhyun grunted, finally allowing his hand to clench and relax, the feeling of the numbing fingertips disappearing. "But Jesus never let me get on your bad side okay?"

"RUN!" Sehun's voice trembled over the air, Baekhyun's neck snapped towards the treeline, his eyes doubling in size at the amount of rebels tracking through the brush. He couldn't do what they wanted, he couldn't allow the three siblings to fight alone not when it was a possibility that they wouldn't survive flashed through his head.

"We can't go back to the manor" Skylar blurted her eyes a strange white colour that was barely visible through the developing fog. "If we do we'll get more injuries and something will happen to Auntie, we can't go back"

"Did you just see the future?" Luhan questioned, his exterior calm in comparison to what he was more than likely feeling right now.

"A possible one yes" Skylar nodded. "It happens at strange times I can't control it"

"I'm not letting Chanyeol fight these people alone" Baekhyun began taking a step closer to the trio, his body shaking at the possibility of losing the person he loves the most in this world. "There's no way that I'm losing any member of this family"

"Baekhyun I really wouldn't worry about it" Luhan laughed draping his hand over the smaller's shoulders, halting his steps while he could. "Chanyeol, Sehun and Kai have been training for moments like this their whole lives-"

"And we get to be the typical housewives not kick ass?"

"Well the mates of dominant vampires don't usually get involved in the fighting" Skylar explained watching as the new-born vampire facial expression changed completely.

"Why the hell not?! What century are you living in?!" Baekhyun questioned, glaring towards each of the three vampires. "Kyungsoo you literally just snapped my hand out of it's socket and Skylar you could practically predict what would happen sure it would happen at strange times yes but come on"

"Okay fine let's test Kyungsoo's power out a little bit" Luhan nodded, his lips curling up in a bright smile. "Plus I'd might be able to get my revenge against them after they placed me in a coma"

"Guys it's been centuries since mates of the dominant vampires fought against any particular foe, what the hell am I supposed to say to that?"

"It's okay to take risks" Skylar grinned placing the palm of her hand over Kyungsoo's shoulder. "Baekhyun and Chanyeol have been going against the century old rules for awhile now, the least we can do is have fun right?"

"Hurting people is not fun" Baekhyun interrupted, being the only one out of the four thinking that way. A shy smirk danced on Kyungsoo's lips when they glanced back down, the dirt road noticing their boyfriends and brothers fighting in order to protect them.

"Well whatever it is I'm going to enjoy it" Kyungsoo announced and within the blink of an eye he was before the treeline, fighting against the rebels that had not yet come from the forest. Baekhyun watching in astonishment as Kyungsoo broke bones and pulled their heads off, Luhan laughing at the sight before him.

"He's a strong one" he admitted nodding his head, taking Skylar's hand in his own and taking off towards the manor making sure that the youngest park sibling would be okay, as she was still young and didn't deserve to be involved in the fighting.

"Baekhyun what the hell are you doing here?" Jongin snapped watching as the smaller propelled himself into a rebel knocking him off Chanyeol's back and onto the ground. His fangs bared out in defence towards the latter for even attempting to hurt his mate.

"Don't just get annoyed at me Kyungsoo's practically ripping people apart by the treeline!" Baekhyun tossed back, throwing the rebel against one of the trees behind him. The new-born gasping at the loud cracking sound that had radiated through the air, his hands covering his ears for a brief moment while he turned around spotting the now dead vampire on the ground. "Holy shit I killed him"

"What did you expect to happen when you threw him against a tree?!" Sehun laughed cracking the neck of the next rebel, Baekhyun recalling the move from the time that he had been killed by the vampire back in the Park manor garden.

"Baek, why aren't you gone back to the manor like Skylar and Luhan have?" Chanyeol asked walking towards the smaller who happily opened his hands for a hug. Before they could embrace however, a rebel knocked Baekhyun to the ground and threw himself on the prince. Baekhyun's breath was gone when he finally came too, his head ringing from the harsh impact of the hit.

Baekhyun noticed the wooden stake in the rebels hand, his fists colliding with Chanyeol's chest until the prince couldn't move his hands any further. Baekhyun screamed, his entire body pulsing out a bright white light completely blinding everyone around him. His fingers dug deeper into the ground, his tears trickling down his cheeks burning the skin. His light sparking a bright orange flame in return, a powerful glow that radiated a strong heat enough to burn buildings.

"Hey can you two tone it the hell down please!" Jongin screamed over Baekhyun's cries, the young vampire unable to stop his emotions taking a toll on him for the worst.

"Baekhyun" Chanyeol's voice whispered, his hand being raised as he stepped through the bright white light. "Baby it's okay I'm okay now you can calm down"

"Chanyeol?" Baekhyun whispered staring up at the man before him, the taller keeping his eyes shut under the intense light. Seeing as how the light he was emitting was hurting his mate Baekhyun tried his hardest to dimmer it, but nothing worked he still felt unsafe, like his eyes were playing tricks on him.

"It's okay Baby" Chanyeol admitted, crouching down on his knees centimetres from the vampire. "I'm safe and we're okay now" Baekhyun stared into the red eyes of his mate, feeling his fangs push back into his upper jaw. Collapsing into Chanyeol's arms Baekhyun finally let his shield fall, the bright white light surrounding them fading away into the calmness of the night. Staring at the scenery over Chanyeol's shoulder, Baekhyun gasped at the sight before him. Rebel bodies were scattered all over the ground, their black clothes (that helped them blend in with the surroundings) had been torched and their cheeks held blood that developed along their water line. Turning his head so that he could see Jongin and Sehun he breathed a sigh of relief knowing that they were okay and safe.

"Kyungsoo where is Kyungsoo?!" he gushed pushing Chanyeol off him so that he could search the bodies, hoping that his best friend wasn't among the injured or dead.

"WHAT A RUSH!" Kyungsoo screamed immerging from the forest-line a wide smile on his plump lips. Baekhyun sighed allowing his back to collide against one of the many trees around him, Chanyeol immediately cupping his cheeks making him look up at him. "Woah what did I miss?"

"Chanyeol and Baekhyun showing off their powers yet again, honestly you two need to learn how to control them I could have been blinded or burned like the rest of them" Sehun rolled his eyes, kicking up some dirt from the ground, a rock being tossed through the air.

"Well Jongin you ran pretty fast earlier" Kyungsoo smiled appearing before his mate before Baekhyun could even turn to see him speak. "And I dislocated Baekhyun's wrist by complete accident"

"What?!" Chanyeol gasped staring down at his mate after sending Kyungsoo a glance, Baekhyun shyly allowed his mate to take his wrist into his hands gently. "He broke your wrist?"

"Accidentally Chanyeol, he didn't mean to do it honestly, you don't need to freak out I'm fine giant" Baekhyun whispered, edging closer to his nose bumping against his mate's. Giggling under the intense stare the taller was giving him Baekhyun grew closer, gently allowing their lips to touch but only briefly. "Trust me Giant"

"What happened?" Suho yawned, his hands gripping tightly to his robe. It was obvious that he hadn't got much sleep and was rudely awoken by the constant yelling and shouting going on in the kitchen at 4am in the morning.

"Chanyeol and Baekhyun managed to burn a whole crew of rebels, Baekhyun made their eyes melt and Chanyeol finished them off" Jongin ran through the details again, looking between the four adults who each looked like they were practically dragged out of their beds, Katherine didn't even have time to take her face mask off.

"What were you thinking when this went through your mind?" Jongdae began, turning his gaze to the three vampires before him. Kyungsoo, Baekhyun and Chanyeol each stared down at the ground, their minds clouded over after the bliss of everything finally hit them.

"I don't know I just wanted Baekhyun to wait when I took his wrist, but after that I just used all that pent up anger that I had against my family. They had this idea when I was younger that they could sell me to pay off their debts, the party that we attended at the King's house would have finalised their plans until I realised that I was mates with the king's son. That seemed to have caused enough pleasure for my parents and they immediately got rid of me, I haven't communicated with them since" Kyungsoo smiled softly leaning into Jongin's shoulder for comfort, the thought of his past clearing making a major impact on him.

"I'm sorry to hear about your past Kyungsoo" Jongdae offered his apologises, his head turning towards the only two quiet members in the room. Baekhyun stared at Chanyeol who was laying down with his head on his lap, he was running his fingers through the bright red locks the elder vampire smiling at the action. "What about the two of you?"

"I thought I was going to lose him" Baekhyun sighed, unable to look away from the latter. "I know that you guys accepted me into your family but Chanyeol and Yixing are my family before anyone else. Lay made me feel safe and he's been a father to me since he's known me, and Chanyeol well he made me believe in love after so many years thinking that I was alone. When I saw the guy on top of him like that, stake in hand my whole heart literally cracked, I don't know much about this mates thing but he means a lot to me and if I lost him.. I'd probably just die myself"

Jongdae nodded his head, taking note in his notebook like he had with Kyungsoo's statement. "I'll be joining you on your way back to Seoul with my mate Minseok, he knows a lot about the Citrine vampires so he might be able to help you guys out with getting your powers under control, now Chanyeol why don't you tell me what went through your mind?"

"I heard Baekhyun scream, I couldn't see him in the dark but I saw the bright light he admitted. I freaked out, I thought he was hurt and I thought that I would never see him again.. I lost control I freaked out one moment the guy was on top of me then the next he was laying cindered next to me, like everyone else. I couldn't stand the fact that they could hurt him, I didn't like the possibility of me losing him either Baekhyun is my mate, the person I've been waiting my whole life for and I don't plan on letting him go so easily" Chanyeol smiled up at the smaller, the former human blushing at his statement before leaning down and pressing their lips together in a brief peck.

"You're lucky that we are taking the family plane otherwise we would be having real cramped spaces" Katherine giggled, attempting to break the tense atmosphere. She breathed a sigh of relief when Baekhyun helped her out and started giggling quietly, she secretly sent him a wink telling him that she was indeed thankful.

"Jongdae you said that you will be joining us alongside your mate Minseok, can you two get powers too?" Baekhyun wondered, staring down at the doctor whose head snapped up at the mention of his mate. "I mean you said your father had worked with the Park family for years and you took over when he retired right? That technically means that you're apart of the family so will you get your own powers?"

"Well.." the doctor began but his words ran short, his eyes widening at the thought. "I guess I never thought about it like that before, if that's true that would mean that Minseok would receive some too."

"Yeah that makes sense, I mean if you're technically apart of my family Minseok would have married into it therefore meaning that you both would get the powers" Chanyeol smiled looking towards his childhood friend, Jongdae's smile brightening up the room.

"Well I better get home to my mate then" Jongdae chuckled, leaning forward and quickly collecting his notebook and medical supplies. "Tell him the good news of course"

"I'll see you out" Suho smiled standing up and following the doctor towards the front door, Katherine and Yixing waving him goodbye from the couch.

"Minseok will be able to answer all the questions we have but would it be a good idea to go home so early without the proper trainings?" Jongin voiced out, his words hanging in the air for a moment before Sehun piped up.

"I'm with Jongin on this one. I don't think it would be the best time to go home Chanyeol, if this whole power vampire thing is real and we're all going to get powers we should probably train to control them first, you and Baekhyun above all need the training more than Kyungsoo no offence Soo" Kyungsoo shrugged his shoulder.

"All I did was break bones and snap necks, I didn't blind or burn people"

"Okay we can discuss this in the morning when we have all slept on it, if we are to take this power thing into account we should probably consider places were Kris doesn't have a hand in" Yixing announced to the room, standing up his pillow still locked tightly in his hand. "Good night kiddos" he smiled walking up to Sehun and pressing his opened palm against his shoulder, the blond vampire grinning up at his dad whispering his goodnight. Yixing then moved on to Skylar pressing his lips against her cheek lovingly, the girl laughing at his affection before wrapping her arm through his claiming she too was done for the night. Together then they moved onto Baekhyun, the former human surprised by the kiss the eldest vampire applied to his cheek too.

Chanyeol stared up at his mate in a satisfied grin, Baekhyun's cheeks blaring in heat after the kiss of his protector. "Goodnight Baekkie, I get to use the information you told me about tomorrow!" Skylar giggled pressing her lips against his other cheek, making the former human splutter out useless words.

"Right come on Bedtime Lulu!" Sehun stated clapping his hands as he stood up from the couch, his mate in his arms. Before leaving the room however, the blond haired vampire fist bumped Jongin, pressed his lips against Kyungsoo's forehead allowed Luhan to get down so he could wish them goodnight before walking over to his other brother and his mate. Baekhyun flushed at the next kiss pressing itself against his forehead, his mind barely telling him to wrap his arms around Luhan when the latter had hugged him close, wishing him a goodnight too.

He got better when Jongin and Kyungsoo were next, having expected the kiss and calculating the hug. Unlike with Luhan however Baekhyun was able to hug back immediately, he's cheeks a bright cherry red when Katherine finally announced her departure from the living room. Unlike all the men before her, Katherine followed Skylar's lead, pressing her lips against Chanyeol's cheeks before resting them against Baekhyun's. The two remaining vampires waving her a silent goodbye as she climbed the stairs leading up to the bedrooms.

"What just happened?" Baekhyun whispered, his fingers ghosting over the places he had been kissed; his cheeks and forehead. "What was that?"

Chanyeol's body shook on his lap drawing Baekhyun's attention. "They did what families do, they showed affection in their own way to their family. Yixing thinks of you as one of his kids Baekhyun so he was more than comfortable kissing you like he did for Skylar and Sehun, he hasn't gotten used to thinking of Kai and I like that but I don't mind, he shows me his own affection in a different way. Everyone else showed you affection because you're their family too" Chanyeol explained leaning his head back against his mates legs, happy to feel the thin nimble fingers tossing through his red hair.

"You know getting told that and getting showed it is a very different thing, both of which I'm extremely grateful for by the way however, I think I'm liking the showing part a bit more though.. that's allowed right?" Baekhyun mumbled, leaning his head down so that his lips were resting gently against Chanyeol's forehead, too embarrassed to allow his face to be seen.

"So you like being showed that you're loved huh?" Chanyeol teased, wiggling his eyebrows making Baekhyun laugh at the strange feeling against his lips. "That's going to come in handy in the future"

"No" Baekhyun warned his lips pressing against the red hair's forehead. "With you I feel loved, you show me how much you love me and you tell me all the time" Baekhyun finally connected their lips his heart content after a long day.

"So I'm special huh?"

"I love you" Baekhyun finally admitted, his lips curling up in a wolfish grin as Chanyeol's eyes doubled in size. "I love you so much you overgrown elf, I know that I haven't told you before but I think now is the best time, after all what messed up life would we be living if we can't take a moment for us alone. I don't know what's going to happen in the future like Skylar, but I know that no matter what we will be together until the end. I'll help you fight your father and I won't rest until I see you on that god forsaken throne like some Game of Thrones bullshit. You're the Prince and I feel like your fucking princess half the time because I'm expected to do so much and I'm going to continue to mess up the rules or possibly break them, but I'm going to try and be the best mate that you've been wanting to meet since you were 8. Even though you're going to have to get used to the fact I don't like being told what to do"

Chanyeol grinned, his hands coming up and holding his mate's cheeks close. Baekhyun sighed staring into the brown eyes of his mate, the colour shining in the artificial light around them.
