Baekhyun giggled happily as Chanyeol continued to apply quick kisses all over his face, a soft squeak left his mouth as he attempted to get out of the way. Luhan and Kyungsoo were awake and giggling alongside him, their smiles melting away the dull atmosphere that had bellowed above them for some time. 

"Hey baby" Chanyeol smiled looking down at his mate with a proud smile on his lips, the sight of him made Baekhyun's heart melt. "how did you sleep?" 

"Really good" he mumbled, stretching out his arms above his head. His eyes narrowed naturally as he let out a quiet yawn, however he quickly noticed that the so called 'Park brothers' were looking down at the three of them with a seemingly innocent gaze in their eyes. "What's going on?" 

"Sehun?" Both Chanyeol and Jongin announced, their gazes unmoving from their mates. Baekhyun and Kyungsoo turned to look at the younger brother who playfully rolled his eyes at his brother's actions. Luhan looked up at his mate in confusion, his eyebrows furrowed together in the centre of his forehead. 

"What's going on Hunnie?" he whispered, gently raising his hand until it gently cradled the youngest Park's cheek in the palm. "Is everything okay?" 

"Of course it is" Jongin blurted, looking between their three mates knowing that they would immediately jump to all sorts of conclusions if they didn't specify beforehand. "you guys don't have anything to worry about." 

Baekhyun's eyes naturally fell back on his mates, his lower lip being taken in by his teeth. He knew he better keep hush about what Skylar told him and by the look on Chanyeol's face Baekhyun already could tell that he wanted him to forget it and trust in him. He took a deep breath and happily grabbed hold of both of his best friend's hands, holding them close to his body as he waited for the three siblings to finally voice out their plans. 

"We got given another hour to spend here" Sehun began with a smile, his head naturally tilting into the comfort that was Luhan. "and we're going to be spending it in different ways. As long as we all get to the landing strip by 8pm tonight." 

"We have more time?" Kyungsoo coughed, his furrowed brows relaxing as Jongin gently pressed a kiss against his forehead. "Is everything okay? Is there something wrong with the plane or something?" 

The three siblings turned to look at each other, Chanyeol easily reading their minds. Surprisingly both he and his brothers could agree on something other than a dinner choice; their mates were stressed and worried way too much and in their position it wasn't a good thing. 

"Nothing is wrong anywhere" Chanyeol announced with a small smile, his eyes locking with Baekhyun who had shifted ever so slightly in the bed. "you guys can stop worrying about the what ifs and if the world is ending. We're planning to have some fun is all, we're young and we got permission to do it." 

"If you had to get permission I can already tell that it's going to be terrible" Luhan admitted with a shrug of his shoulder, automatically he received nods and exclaims of agreement from both Kyungsoo and Baekhyun. "we're going to end up in a fight again right?" 

"If that's the case I think I would rather go on the plane" Kyungsoo announced with a cough, shifting onto his side making Jongin slip and fall off the bed in the process. "It's safer and warm and I won't have to break people's bones because of it!" 

"I'm with Kyungsoo on that one." Luhan rose his hand up in the air and shifted onto his side, therefore causing the youngest Park to stumble off the bed as well. 

Chanyeol looked down at Baekhyun with a grin, gently caressing his mate's cheek. Baekhyun smiled and welcomed the touch before following his best friend's actions and tossing onto his side. The eldest Park grunted after he fell on top of Jongin, the two of them turning into a whimpering mess. Sehun groaned as he stood up, his hands pressing against the small of his back, his hips motioned out before him in a gesture of cracking it. 

"Fine, we'll just have fun without you then!" he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he pouted. Luhan grew soft at the look and crumbled before his friends could say anything, he reached his arm out and gently took the elder boy's wrist. 

"What exactly do you guys have planned?" 

"We may as well hear it then make our decision." Baekhyun stated, looking for a way to find common ground between them. He knew that after everything that happened, Luhan and Kyungsoo were going to be on extra high alert and what Skylar had told him Baekhyun couldn't help but feel the same way. 

"But we all have something different planned-" Jongin attempted to explain however his words were cut off when Chanyeol gently climbed back onto the bed. Baekhyun bite his lower lip as he watched his mate climb back over his body, his hands on either side of his head in order to avoid pushing all his weight on top of him. 

"We are going out to the forest and I'm going to teach you everything there is to know about being a vampire, then if we have some time you're going to teach me what's it's like being human." Chanyeol whispered looking at Baekhyun with so much love in his eyes that the former human's words died on his tongue. 

"As for you, both you and I have a little matter to attend to by the lake" Sehun smiled nuzzling his nose against Luhan's mate mark on his neck. 

"Since you were given strict orders to stay in bed until we have to go to the plane, I figured that I would bring everything you wanted to you. I won't tell you details because I would like to keep it a surprise unlike my brothers." Jongin snickered looking down at Kyungsoo who in turn was speechless just like the rest of the mates. 

Baekhyun didn't see the significance of the ideas the other brother's had for his friends however by the light of their twinkling eyes he knew that they were beyond happy right now. He turned to face is own mate, a tease wink in his eye as he nodded his head and gently linked their hands together. "Alright giant, I'll accept your offer!" 

"I would love nothing more Hunnie!" Luhan squealed throwing his arms around the blonde haired vampire and pulled him close, Sehun stumbled over his footing and ended up sitting down next to his mate's legs his torso laying on top of him. 

"And what do you say to my offer?" Jongin wondered nervously, looking down at his mate his eyes twinkling with worry. Baekhyun playfully nudged Kyungsoo's ribs keeping in mind to avoid hurting him too much. 

"You can't leave him hanging forever you know." he giggled watching as Kyungsoo simply rolled his eyes at the comment. Instead of answering however, the boy wrapped his arms around Jongin's shoulders and pulled him into a kiss. Baekhyun could just about make out the sweet words being whispered between them and it surely made his aching heart relax just a tad bit more.

Baekhyun breathed in a deep breath as he gazed around the beautifully quiet landscape. The afternoon sunlight trickled through the trees in a carefree glow, it's rays causing even the darkest things to glow in a soft golden hue. As Baekhyun allowed himself to be dragged through the brunch he couldn't help but stare in awe at the beauty around him, fireflies twinkled just above his head as Chanyeol led him further into the brunch. 

"How far are you planning on taking me?" the boy whispered out, feeling as though if he had spoken any louder he would disrupt all the animals hidden from his view. "I won't be able to see the sunlight any longer if we continue on like this!" 

"That's a good thing" Chanyeol chuckled, tossing a glace over his shoulder making sure that his mate could see his teasing grin. "when I'm teaching you about the vampire ways of life I suggest that you shouldn't have any distractions and since you've been cooped up in a dark room for the past couple days I figured this would be the best idea." 

"But Chanyeol-" Baekhyun began to whine but his words died in his throat, the beautiful golden glow of the sunray had now been phased out as the trees grew closer together in this part of the woods. The darkness surrounding them wasn't something that spooked them, oh no. In fact Baekhyun almost felt at home here, his eyes shifting so that they could see where they were going although he knew he could trust Chanyeol to keep them both safe. 

"It's pretty isn't it?" his mate whispered the moment their steps were halted. Baekhyun looked around and gasped at the sight his eyes took in, it was as if everything was in high definition. Baekhyun- as a human- never needed glasses, the doctor's claiming that he had a perfect 20 20 vision in both eyes yet even he knew that his once human eyes wouldn't have been able to see what he was seeing right now, through the eyes of a vampire. 

Baekhyun could notice tiny specks of dust floating the air around him, the wet tree truck that lodged itself over a small glowing blue lake had him taking a deep breath at the beauty. Small insects continued on their daily business, unbothered by the sudden appearance of two otherwise seen as 'human' figures. 

"This is amazing" Baekhyun breathed out in awe, turning around so that his mind got a glance at everything the dark forest had to offer. "I knew that you guys had good eye sight but never this good!" 

"Our eyes adjust to dramatic lighting quite quickly since we need them for hunting, our speed also comes accustom to it as well. When hunting we excel through our surrounding rather quickly therefore in order to avoid blinding ourselves, our eyes were made to withstand the sudden light changes." Chanyeol explained briefly, pulling Baekhyun further into the forest after he was sure that the boy was done looking around. 

"What is hunting like?" Baekhyun wondered aloud knowing that the latter wasn't able to read his mind like he could everyone else's. "Kyungsoo and Luhan said that they have never gone before so they weren't able to tell me either-" 

"You'll find out soon" Chanyeol winked. Baekhyun couldn't help but let out a chuckle, finding the entire situation quite amusing. He held onto his mate's hand tighter and turned his gaze down to the ground, keeping in mind to watch his step even if his eyes had grown accustomed to the dark now that he was a vampire. "Keep your voice down." 

Turning his head upwards, Baekhyun nearly found himself frowning when he realised that they were approaching another part of the forest where the light had began to shine through the trees yet again. In the centre of the clearing he could make out the figure of what seemed to be a deer, the animal happily chewing on grass as it minded it's own business out in the wild. Instantly Baekhyun found himself shaking his head. 

"Nope, there's no way" he decided, holding Chanyeol's hand in his tighter. The taller looked down at him in confusion, his brows creased waiting for hid mate to continue his words. "There is no way in hell that I'm killing Bambi!" 

"We're not here to kill the deer Baekhyun" Chanyeol whispered, raising his finger and gently pressing it against his mate's lips. The gesture warning Baekhyun to keep his voice down now that they were so close to the animal. "There is another animal here, I want you to figure out what it is we are hunting. But you better hurry, it's getting closer." 

"How the hell do you expect me to do that?!" he hissed, slamming his opened palm against his mate's chest. Chanyeol laughed wholeheartedly before pulling the love of his life backwards until his back met his chest, Baekhyun's breath hitched as he felt his mate's breath fan against his neck. "I'm a newbie, in case you forgot you dumbass." 

"Shhh" Chanyeol breathed, holding the boy closer by his waist. Baekhyun felt the small weight press against his shoulder, his eyes unmoving from the scene before him. The scene was too quiet and the deer seemed to have noticed that something wasn't right in the thicken either. "Let your senses take over for you, let your mind lead you to where it needs it to." 

Chanyeol's soft whispers and warm heat had Baekhyun unintentionally closing his eyes, he listened to the words being spoken to him and then allowed his mind to wander freely. He found himself focusing on his sense of hearing first, his ears twitching as he overheard the ever so slight crunch of a twig under a heavy paw. Baekhyun turned his head in the direction he heard the noise, his eyes still closed as his body focused on another sense. A strange smell of berries and wet grass had the newbie scrunching his nose up in disgust, what a strange smell that was. 

"Come on baby, listen." Chanyeol whispered into his ear again, his hands gripping on his waist just a little bit tighter. 

Baekhyun took a deep breath and focused his hearing back into the direction he had first heard the twig snapping. Now a heavy breath and soft growl bellowing from a throat of a rather large animal, an imagine of the animal Baekhyun suspected flashed through his mind for a moment before his eyes blinked open. 

"What do you think baby?" Chanyeol chuckled pressing a kiss against his neck, Baekhyun's lips curling as he leaned into the touch. "If you get it right, I'll give you a longer kiss!" 

"A mountain lion?" Baekhyun wondered, turning around in his boyfriend's hold. "I'm not too sure but it's quite large, I know for a fact that it's not a wolf because the paw marks wouldn't have sounded so deep in the soil. But then again there can't be any mountain lions in Ireland." 

"Well once upon a long time ago there was" Chanyeol admitted, cupping his mate's cheeks. "my family and I have stated that we would only hunt mountain lions here since the people of Ireland don't think they exist here of all places, but not many people realise that Ireland is home to a lot of living creatures that the human world could never wrap their head around." 

"When will you tell me of such stories?" Baekhyun sighed, hooking his arms around Chanyeol's shoulders. The taller laughed against the latter's lips, his teasing action making Baekhyun release a large pout. 

"I will tell you them when we tuck our child in at night time." he grinned from ear to ear, pressing a long kiss against Baekhyun's lips. Meaning that even if Baekhyun wanted to speak out against Chanyeol's words, he couldn't. Although the idea of tucking their child into bed with stories of a magical land he had visited made Baekhyun's heart skip a beat. "Now if you excuse me, I have a mountain lion to catch~" 

Baekhyun watched from the treeline as his mate cautiously walked into the clearing, the deer having quickly run off at the sight of Chanyeol's tall frame. Baekhyun was sure that not even a moment had passed before Chanyeol had taken down the large animal, his breath hitching as his mate sent him a glance. His lips were covered with small drips of blood and his eyes were showcasing their natural bright red that glowed a beautiful ruby under the sunlight. A small laugh escaped Baekhyun's lips as he stepped out from the treeline watching as his skin reddened slightly under the glare of the sunlight. 

"Chanyeol I didn't drink the juice today." Baekhyun hurried back into the darkness, his right hand holding his left wrist that had been burned beneath the sun's rays. He stared down at the blisterd skin and pouted seeing it slowly start to heal now that he was back in among the shadows. 

"Oh that reminds me!" Chanyeol shrieked, standing up from his kill and rushing to stand in front of his mate. However, the moment he dropped to his knee Baekhyun suddenly felt the entire world had slowed down right before his every eyes. "Byun Baekhyun-" 

"Are you serious right now?" the boy gasped, holding onto Chanyeol's shoulders with so much strength that the elder vampire couldn't help but let out a low groan. "Like you're actually willing to do that? I mean I know that we were mates and that meant we would be together forever but now you're actually wanting to officialise it and I don't know if you're going to be okay with that? Am I overthinking this Chanyeol?" 

"Baby" Chanyeol interrupted, gripping the poor boy by his wrists that were still attached to his shoulders in an iron like grip. "There is no one else in my life that I would rather spend my eternity with. I know that we are mates so this doesn't really count but I seen that sometimes humans like to showcase their connections through marriage and although we will have a ceremony similar once we defeat my dad, I thought that by proposing to you the humane way you'd appreciate it more." Chanyeol beamed, looking up at his love before stealing a glance at the box as he opened it. 

Baekhyun's eyes watered as he viewed the ring inside the black velvet box, it's beautiful shiny sliver making his eyes widen. "Of course I agree to be your husband Chanyeol!" Baekhyun yelled throwing himself on top of the taller, making the two of them crash to the ground in a tangle of limbs and lips. 

"You just made me the happiest man on earth" Chanyeol whispered through their chaste kiss, his lips curling as he held onto Baekhyun tighter the smaller welcoming the warmth with wide arms. 

"I have a question first" Baekhyun sniffled after he pulled away and sat himself down on the ground next to his lover. "you said that you wanted to propose to me the human way, what's the vampire way?" 

"Oh that will be figured out quite quickly later on" Chanyeol teased, holding open the box for Baekhyun to take. The smaller's fingers wrapped around the box and Chanyeol took the ring from it's clutch, slipping it onto Baekhyun's finger with a wide grin pulling on his lips. "It fits perfectly." 

"It is truly beautiful" the smaller admitted through his sniffles, his eyes glassy as he held back his tears. 

"It's a promise ring, an engagement ring and a daylight ring." Chanyeol rhymed off the listings that came with the ring. Baekhyun's head snapped up to look at him in shock, the taller let out a laugh as he nodded his head at his mate's inward question. "It will protect you in the sunlight so this-" he grabbed Baekhyun's now healed hand and pressed a soft kiss against it. "wont ever happen to you again." 

Baekhyun immediately stood up looking from the ring to his fiancé and back again, he turned towards the sunshine and took a dramatic leap forward his eyes glued shut. After what seemed like forever Baekhyun slowly peeked an eye open and looked down at his body, expecting it in order to find any burn marks but drawing up none. 

"It works!" Baekhyun cried over at Chanyeol who was making his way out of the tree line to stand with him in the clearing. "It really works!" 

"At least this will protect you against the one thing that I can't" Chanyeol mumbled pulling the smaller back into his arms. "I love you so much Baekhyun." 

Baekhyun was surprised to hear the giant's voice crack, but he quickly realised what he was trying to avoid slipping into conversation. He allowed the tears to slip from his eyes as he gazed the ring over, Chanyeol had said that it was a promise; they would be together forever. A engagement ring to prove their love for each other and a daylight ring so that Baekhyun could be protected from a vampire's worst enemy; the sunlight. 

"I love you too giant" Baekhyun cried into his shoulder holding him tighter. "I'll never stop loving you."
