Alex's POV

I woke up around 11:30 in front of the TV. Heathers was on, and it was almost over. I was sitting in someones lap. I looked up. John. I smiled and laid my head back on his chest. He woke up and nudged me.

"Hey Alex?"

"Yes?"

"Want to go eat lunch somewhere?"

"Are you asking me on a date?" I teased. He blushed and smiled a little. "I guess so." I grinned at him. "Sure. Where to?" I jumped off his lap so he could stand up. "Hmm. Maybe that fancy restaurant just off campus?" He suggested, grabbing his clothes and towel off his bed. "Sounds good." I said, going through my bags for a more proper outfit. 

After about 7 minutes of unfolding and refolding, I was wearing a navy blue polo shirt with some old khakis and worn out dress shoes. Let me just say, it is really hard to do stuff with a cast. Anyways! John stepped out in his towel, running to his dresser to grab some nicer clothes before bolting back to the bathroom. I laughed and played Candy Crush while I waited. He stepped out of the bathroom, and my jaw dropped.

  He was wearing a white collared shirt with some nice straight khakis and shiny black dress shoes. He had pulled his long, curly locks back into a neat ponytail. I was amazed. He was so handsome.

"Alex? Are you ready?" He asked walking towards me. I nodded quickly and put my phone in my pocket. We walked out the door and to his car.

John's POV

~At the Fancy Romantic Restaurant~

We walked up to the front and waited for the host to come over and assist us. A short, plump lady with blonde hair finally rushed over to us. "Hello, table for one?" She asked me. Alex shuffled awkwardly behind me. "Actually, I'm with him. Table for two." I replied. Her face wrinkled in disgust. "You want to sit together?" She questioned. I felt my hands curl into fists. "Is there a problem with that, miss?" I snarled. Alex stiffened behind me. "I guess not." She muttered and led us to a table. She threw down the forks and walked away stiffly. Alex sat down and looked at the floor. "I should have read her name." I spat angrily. "Her name was Jesslyn." Alex mumbled, his face red. "Okay. Ill be right back, Alex."

I found a waitress and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and smiled at me. "Hi! Do you need something?" She asked politely. I nodded. "Yes. May I speak to the boss?" She turned and led the way. I followed her to a door and she knocked for me. A kind man who seemed to be in his mid forties let me in. "What seems to be the problem?" He asked, and I pushed away my anxiety. "One of your hostesses, Jesslyn, acted impolite towards me and my boyfriend. He and I are very upset about this. Could you maybe speak to her?" I explained. His face went from kind and understanding to anger and pity in a matter of seconds. "I am so sorry about that. I will speak to her immediately." He growled. I nodded and thanked him before walking back to Alex. He smiled when I sat down. "You're back! I got you that drink you always bring to the dorm."

~Back at the dorm~ 

I walked in and flopped on my bed, exhausted. Alex went into the bathroom to change. I took off my shirt, khakis, and dress shoes and got into some sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I got Mister Lettuce from his tank and put him on the floor. I led him to the bathroom. When the door flew open, I screamed, "CAREFUL!" Alex looked stunned when he saw me. I was nudging Mister Lettuce towards him. "You should meet him." I explained. Alex laid down next to me and rubbed Mister Lettuce's shell stiffly with his cast. They connected immediately. Alex fed him lots of lettuce I got from the fridge. When I picked up Mister and put him away, Alex pouted, "Hey! We were having a nice conversation!" I laughed and shook my head. He sat on his bed and worked on his homework. I laid down and went to sleep quickly, the events of the day flying through my head.
