Chapter 1. "The Reset"

Molten's POV
'Ugh... my head... What the heck happened?'
The last thing I could remember... is screaming... and the feeling like I was.... melting???

I opened my eyes. I was lying there in a bed of flowers.
'Strange... I don't remember a place like this.' I sat up and picked one of the flowers from the ground and examine it. But I wasn't able to recognize it. It was a bright golden yellow, with a white corolla. It had up to five petals and stem on it was about four inches.
It wasn't any type of flower I ever seen. Sure there are plenty of yellow flowers in the world, but this particular type was... strangely unique. I couldn't completely describe it.

Tearing my eyes away from the flower in my hand, I looked at the other surroundings.
Expect... there wasn't any. The place was simply a black void. The only thing here besides the bed of flowers was a small mysterious light shining above my head. Illuminating the the flower bed like a headlamp or a crack in the ceiling.

"What the heck is this place?" I mumbled quietly to myself, as I tried to remember what happened...

'Let's see. I was chasing Bryan around the room.... Lefty stopped me... he had a pickaxe and...broke the glass floor above the....'

'oh... Oh no...'

It all came back to me. Everything.

The smell of the lava burning though my wires.... its scorching heat messing up my circuits... the sound of Lefty's voice, telling me he was sorry as I screamed in pain...

"I.... I'm dead... I'm f***ing dead...!!"

I began to panic as the memory replayed in my head over and over.
"N-No! Please no! I can't be dead!!! I can't be!!"

I screamed into the void, "PLEASE!!! I WANT TO GO BACK!! I WANT TO LIVE!! PLEASE!! SOMEONE!! I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE!!!"
But my screams just echoed through the void.
I felt so alone. I curled myself up, laughing nervously, trying to hold back my emotions, as I was on the edge of tears.

I couldn't blame Lefty and Bryan for what they did to me. I knew that we all had no choice.
It was either them or me.
But right now, I was just scared for what was happening to me.

'Is this my afterlife?! Just sitting here in this flower bed that's the middle of F***ING NOWHERE?!'

I just sat there, shaking in fear. I didn't want this to be the end.

Then, out of nowhere, I heard a voice...

"Uhm... excuse me, but are you ok?"

I looked up and saw a weird girl standing in front of me. Her skin was really pale, her hair was a golden blonde. She had large white wings sprouting from her back.
She was wearing a sliver, long-sleeved-dress, and white gloves. There was a small blue cross floating in front of her, illuminating a small blue light from its gem.
And.... her eyes... They were a creepy lifeless grey with a single stripe cross down on each of her cheeks. It kinda makes her look like she's crying.

She was standing there, barefoot on the floor, looking at me with a nervous look.
I jolted a bit when I first heard her voice, then looked at her confused.

I asked, "Who the heck are you?"
She starts to stutter a bit with her words as she spoke.
"O-Oh right! Sorry! Where are my manners?! You may call me...Ann. I've been, uh, watching you and your friends for a while now. I-I've.... seen what happened to you. And I'm really sorry. Now, I know you did a lot of bad things, but you didn't deserve to die like that... So that's why I brought you here! I want to give you a second chance!"

I laid there, a bit confused by that last line. "A.... A second chance?"
Ann nods with a small gentle smile on her face as she pulls something from her sleeves. It was some kind of golden button with the word "RESET" on it.

She said, "I can send you back in time, back when Bryan found you in the vents."
"You can do that?!" I asked.
She nods again, still keeping that shy smile. I asked, "Can you go any further than that?" as I knew that if Bryan had never found me, I would have never caused so much havoc.

"Sorry, I... I can't go any further back in time." she answered, "This is all can offer. I know it might not be much, but you can still change your fate in this point in time. If you don't join Afton's side and actually become friends with Bryan and the others, you might have a different ending. Maybe a better one?"

Surprised by all this, I hesitated. 'Is this really gonna help? Time travel is very dangerous. After all, there's a 50% chance that doing this will make things worse.'

I heard Ann say too me, "We won't know unless we try."

'....Wait....hold up! WHAT THE F***?! DID SHE JUST READ MY F***ING MIND?!'

"Language please. I know you're thinking too yourself, but come on."

I just looked at her, kinda shocked. "How did you-?!"
She just rub the back of her head awkwardly. "Yeaaaaah... uh, I had to connect your soul to mine in order to contact you and bring you here. And, uhm, when a spirit connects with a another soul, they can kind of read the mind of that soul telepathically. Don't ask the logic in that, I have no freaking clue."

I was a little disturbed by the fact that she can basically READ MY F***ING MIND!!! But I tried not to let it phase me.

I was a bit unsure if I wanted to do this, but...
I was terrified by the thought of being dead. Plus, I was a bit curious on what would happen. It's not like I got anything else to lose.

"Alright." I sighed "I'll do it."
Ann's eyes lit up with excitement, "YES! Ok! Now just press the button and you'll be back to the beginning!"

"Back to when they found me, correct?"

"Yup!"

I looked at the button one last time. I was still a bit hesitant, but I knew this was my only way out of this place. I close my eyes, took a deep breath, and press it....

"Here goes nothing..."
